Tonight’s “Saturday Night Attitude” song seems appropriate, given what more than a few have written.
This one’s a state of mind we’ve all gone through at one time or another, one way or another if we decided to kick up some dust, take a chance, or even just try to get by, whatever that might mean. Though I haven’t felt this way for a long time, I do remember that others are still going through it. So let’s get the endorphins rollin’! Time to dance!
From 1978, the original music video of the Bee Gees laying out an infinitely danceable tune, “Stayin’ Alive”
To take it to the next level and keep you dancing, here are the Bee Gees live in 1997 at the MGM Grand knocking out a medley of Barry Gibb tunes to groove to!
“Staying Alive”/”Night Fever”/ “More Than A Women”/“Tragedy”/“Grease”
From Top of the Pops in 1987, “You Win Again”
We now take you to another great live Bee Gees performance in NY April 2001 of “You Should Be Dancing”
From the same show, “Man In The Middle”
For our closer, we have one more great performance of our “Saturday Night Attitude” dance number. This one features the Bee Gees very live in 1989 in Melbourne, groovin’ down on “Stayin’ Alive”
Here are a few of the lyrics that caught my attention:
"Stayin' Alive"
Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin',
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive.
Well now, I get low and I get high,
And if I can't get either, I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes.
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me, yeah.
I'm stayin' alive.
From the top! And a-one, a-two, a-three, and a…..
