This Lunar Eclipse “Christ Fest” Full Moon falls at the 5th degree of Sagittarius-Gemini, and begins the rapid distribution of a new understanding, a new poise, and the manifestation of clearly held images. This Full Moon will activate the forms of compassionate wisdom we learned since last month’s Wesak Festival.
The next two weeks continue to offer us ways to ground and solidify recent life developments expressed as intense magnetic forms of our spirituality. We shall see the light of “reaching beyond established forms” resulting from “root emotions” expressed in a “translucid wisdom.” Here we begin to move into alternative possibilities, and can see the manifestation of our heart’s desire as we have been clear about it up to now.
This Lunar Eclipse Full Moon is distributive and promotes discovery, and the third of the “Three High Moons” of Spring. Today's article will cover an overview of the Lunation and some of its primary qualities. Part 3 will cover the various rising signs around the globe and the Sabian Symbols. Part 4 will cover the aspects, configurations and patterns, and which signs are most likely to be affected by where this falls in their charts.
This distributive, expansive, “world teaching” infused Full Moon that will throw things into erratic motion helping us integrate in our “upper chamber of consciousness” falls at the 5th degree of Gemini and Sagittarius. This Lunation, helping us turn away from old illusions and ideals to find a more effective way to work or serve our higher purposes, occurs May 24 at 9:25 pm PDT, 12:25 am EDT and 5:25 am Greenwich Daylight time May 25.
An overview of this period ruled by this Full Moon shows it will illuminate our ability to shake up old ideas and views, leading to powerful actions that will anchor initiatives set into motion these past several weeks. This will further what was stabilized over the previous Wesak Full Moon and Solar Eclipse in Taurus, and marks a point when log jams will be broken up, and new personality integration achieved via what is externalized to us or from us in a social setup.
This Lunation is will force more sacrifices and hard adjustments as we learn there are many things below the surface of life. This is an active Lunation, with a need to continue to allow the past to feed the future while staying aware of our invisible helpers. Some will set “an unusual good fortune” into motion that will begin to show in early June, with major implications for the last half of July.
The focus of the light will reveal a need for a detached outlook on the dramas of life, as well as a peace and poise by knowing what’s going on that most do not notice. Some will become much more mellow in their approach to life’s fractures, but ultimately it will all serve the personality integration I spoke of earlier.
Again, clarity of role, clarity of mission, renouncing timidity, and giving voice to what others are not seeing or taking into account is required, along with precision and attention to details. Criticism, worry, and nit-picking will be potential problems. Imagination, Divine Discrimination, humility, practicality, and demonstrating skill across cyclic patterns are the solutions to what’s happening.
At noted in other articles in this series, we are going through a time of “gain through loss.” What we accumulate is not important in itself; it’s what we choose to say yes to, and what we say no to, that will determine what fills our voids in the future. This continues to show us a new way of living our Archetypal Self set into motion in 2010, and what’s been shut down, cleared out, and let go of since 2011 has helped clean our decks for future responsibilities more in line with our evolved Self.
Due to the much more powerful Wesak Lunar Eclipse last month, and the equally powerful Solar Eclipse a couple of weeks ago, the coming months will be powerful in helping us eliminate whatever is no longer relevant to our purpose and ability to respond to growing into a more mature role in our world. Things may seem out of balance, and even bring contradictory impulses, but if we can find the right “counterweight” in unstable situations we can move into the Mystery, and find strength and stability in know our role and the part that the unconscious mind plays in the choices people make.
This Full Moon helps us open to new ways of doing things, new ways of experiencing what we need and care about (or don’t!), and show us a T-square with Neptune in Pisces, it will dislodge some old fogs, illusions, ideals, fashions, and collective ambivalencies. We have moved into the end game of some things leaving forever, except for those that are part of your greater “Spiritual Mystery.” Imagination at critical times when we must show skills will help us glimpse a new dedication, a new fulfillment, and a new “Cosmic Order” in our lives.
With the Moon in Sagittarius, find an appropriate emotional vehicle to navigate this time of visions of a greater freedom and possibility of achievement. Because of the North Node conjunct Saturn in Scorpio, keep cleaning out, clearing out, and/or repairing whatever you need to in order to be able to interact with others in non-corrupted ways.
This Eclipse will be swift in its duration and effects. This continues a long term void in Cancer that will be filled with life contents beginning early June that will lead everyone to new feeling experiences and new emotional understanding, stability, and intelligence by late July. Due to these factors set into motion in the Wesak Full Moon and continued in this one, once we find the right “emotional intelligence,” then the more we care, the more we become sensitive to, the easier the flow through the crosscurrents and oppositions. We cannot avoid the crosscurrents and polarizations, but we do not have to feel helpless in navigating them.
In February and March we got to part the veils and enter the “sacred chamber” leading us beyond old ego limitations. Keep the discipline of rising to a more refined level of social interaction, or a higher, more sophisticated and refined way of relating to ours and others’ feelings as you move through social experiences. This is a very long term structuring power offered to humanity at this time. We now have learned the power of harmlessness, and those who have lessened their fear can now radiate a calm that transcends normal understanding. Final exams in this department of life coming this Autumn!
It began Spring 2012, and we’ve now entered a space-time sector where we are learning to view much of what goes on at core through a sense of life being a “science experiment,” with our task to understand the laws that underlie what’s going on. As the Saturn sextile Pluto will be with us for quite a while, even though it’s now separating, relax into the intensified feelings and experience what’s been emerging these past several weeks of a deeper and larger “group consciousness.” Some of these lessons will show you a greater faith enabling you to transcend and master a duality.
Ultimately this Full Moon will help us discover things beyond our normal patterns, and prepare us for movement toward something that takes care of us, something we care about, or a beginning of a new base of emotional functioning. Take care of details, work the plan, see a greater dedication, and say goodbye to the old feelings through deep compassion for what has been, what is going or gone, and what is to come. This Lunation, despite pulling us in disparate directions at times, overall will be inspiring and heart-strengthening, provide emotional harmony or understanding, and bring many special gifts and insights involving communications that promise much for the future that should start showing up in late June.
Again, I’ll write more about these things in parts 3 and 4. The next two weeks will bring breakdown, release, breakthrough, renewal, promise, and help us see how the “power of well-defined desire” is compelling the manifestation of some deeply held desire. This continues to be a time to trust “the God Within,” be self-reliant, and see the “cooperation between spiritual and material agencies” in your life.
There is a potential for moving a tremendous amount of freight using a clear understanding coupled with not letting anything go to waste, even if assimilating some of it is difficult. Here we get to go deeper into what’s below the surface of life and personality, which will ultimately lead to letting go of some things to attract a more peaceful and wise view of life’s dramas.
To sum up, it’ll be an important two weeks, due to it being a Full Moon and the Eclipse effects lasting 17 days. These are releases that will diminish the old Gemini and Sag ways that create an attractive void to be filled in the very near future.
Many will understand how their subconscious has been tricked by slogans and propaganda of their culture, which will give insights into why others act the way they do. Ultimately, it’s all feeding the power of a) a greater dedication, b) coming up for air, and c) our quest to find primary elements of our “Spiritual Mystery.”
With the preponderance of planets in Gemini, with Mars leading the Sun in the Lunation, this is a time to get things in steady motion and be ready to take the initiative and/or stabilize, guard, or defend what needs it. Open to integrating all the information you’ve gotten since June 2012, and move into a greater unified vision and understanding to prepare for a new adventure, a new magnetism, a new potency, and a new way of enjoying our lives and relationships that’s coming in June and July.
This event offers us the ability to see the results of the ideals we’ve held, go beyond established forms, and open to new adventures in understanding. Decisions and acting will be easy. Just don’t forget to feel once you’ve committed to some decision or action. Those who understand how to navigate actions into new experiences and feelings will find new visions and new understanding.
Keep updating your perceptual and comprehension files to get up to date information so you can know what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and why you’re doing it. Many will find it’s easy to know when and how to act with efficiency, simplicity, and clarity regarding what’s enjoyable and what isn’t. Then what to do becomes self-evident.

Really? REALLY??!?!?!? MORE changes and undoing? More hard adjustments? These planets haven't given me a damn break for MONTHS now! On my knees here, I don't get how much more I will get stripped down to the bone until there is NOTHING left. What else can go wrong now?

Dear Robert,
Learning more and more about following eclipses through your thorough, on-going writings- thank you! This one hits my daughter's Gem Sun (6th)/Sag Pluto (12th) natal opposition EXACTLY at 5 degrees. And this also hits my husband's Sag Moon (6th)/Gem North Node (12th) at 4 degrees. Trying not to panic or worry needlessly. Any advice?

Robert,
As a Libra, it has been a very difficult 4 years and I am amazed that I survived relatively intact. A bit bruised, sometimes sad or angry, but stronger and wiser. This eclipse hits my first house Sag where natal Venus and Chiron live. This post has given me great hope for the coming months as almost every area of my life has seen extensive changes, good and bad but the latter actually improved my well being. With Saturn transiting my Scorpio 12th house and this summers Grand Water Trine, I think my best days are ahead of me. Please do some posts on the Grand Water Trine. I read that the last time this occured was summer, 1967. I was a teen ager just beginning college and it was one of the happiest timnes of my life.

Hi Robert, this 0'cancer sun 8'cancer merc gal is soooooooo looking forward to that void being filled, especially since the oppositions from pluto have kindly moved on now, although its backward motion towards them has triggered yet another trip down the coal mine to make sure that really is a diamond and a portal to "Shangri la" down there lol :) It also infers that my solar return chart may actually be void of the void so to speak this time as well?

Actually i do have some favourable aspects happening on the 25th also, like Jupiter exact sextile to natal Uranus while the full moon eclipse exact trine my MC and sextile natal Jupiter, the actual eclipse is in my 2nd house and I could sure use a reverse of tangible valuables there now eh?

Hi Robert,
Me, 4 degrees 31 min Sag rising...yikes!... Actually, things have been evolving in a good way, especially with new potential projects ( I'm an environmental graphics designer). Better than it's been in years, Maybe Uranus (trine Mercury and in mutual reception) is coming to the rescue (Aquarius Sun in the 3rd)... it's about to conjunct my 12/36 Venus in Aries in 5th house. The creative energy is off the Rickter scale! Thanks for all your insights!

Ok, I am curious.... what will happen if you have Saturn at 5 degrees Gemini (H9) and Jupiter in opposition at 5 degrees Sagittarius (H3) in your natal chart?

Robert, this is such a perfect advice. Thank you so much: The focus of the light will reveal a need for a detached outlook on the dramas of life, as well as a peace and poise by knowing what’s going on that most do not notice. ...
Again, clarity of role, clarity of mission, renouncing timidity, and giving voice to what others are not seeing or taking into account is required, along with precision and attention to details.
