Astrology in June 2013 – In the Heart of the Venus in Cancer T-Square!

Yes, we’re in the heart of Venus opposing Pluto and squaring Uranus! Mercury triggered releases of that powerful frictional energy June 7-9 which are now being shaped by Venus.

Mercury triggered voids at 11-12 Libra. Through June 13 Venus is triggering voids at 11, 12, and 13 Libra, since Uranus is now at 13 Aries, the degree it will go stationary retrograde on July 17-18. Voids show the problem and/or the solution to integrating the energies of the T-square.

This series of Cardinal T-squares we’ve entered that will last through August is testing whether our sense of proportion or perspective is healthy and balanced (or not), our ability to judge fairly and reasonably, our ability to moderate sources of friction, our ability to be a peacemaker within and without, and our ability to spot superficiality or extreme positions and not get into conflict. It’s the Aquarius decan of Libra, so the sub-theme is to see a bigger balanced picture, to synthesize many different pulses into a harmonious motion, and be as altruistic as possible in our interactions.

In terms of the Sabian Symbols of this span, Mercury introduced the themes of “kindly communication,” willingness to attempt to cooperate with and/or assist others who are not as knowledgeable, going deeper into a work or coming up for “fresh air and sunshine,” and being “whole-Souled” in what you give in some form of service. Mercury involves ideas and communications, signs and signals of how we are being “guided to our Soul.”

Venus now gives its own touch of class, beauty, reflection, and interaction to those energies, and will add the theme of “healthy stimulation through play and joy” in our interactions, creativity, relaxation, even if it also lends an air of unreality and fantasy as well. Of course, Venus also rules our interactions with others, and so there could be friction in situations where we’re being confronted by rude people, or those who are out of balance.

Venus opposed Pluto cautions us to be moderate and act on our values when we are around corrosive, dishonest, or obsessive people. This is where if you can’t seem to get results, or find yourself diverted into weird or extreme places that deflect from your original intention, you may need to detach from someone who is draining your energy.

This is testing our ability to see what is true and what is a lie, whether in our understanding or via some relationship, no matter how casual or tight. And it’s probably a good thing to evaluate everything that’s come down the past few days with an eye to finding a newer, more harmonious way of moving through the current currents of the Grand Water Trines.

Venus square Uranus challenges us to embrace more innovative relationships with individuals who are not self-serving, egocentric, or erratic. Focus your activities so you can get a better handle on them, don’t jump to conclusions or react in unproductive ways, recognize larger general tendencies and trends, and imagine the types of progressive people and interactions you’d like to have in the future.

This time prepares us for a similar experience of a Grand Water Trine followed by a Cardinal T-square that will roll forward in late July through August when the Sun is followed by Mars and Jupiter through these configurations. Uranus will be at 13 Aries the entire time, while Pluto will retrograde back to 10 Capricorn on July 13-14, opening a void at 10 Libra, providing an initial sense of relief at having “made it through the rapids.”

We’re in phase two of a set of very long wave changes. We all get to see ways to become more emotionally stable, or harmonize our life in ways that helps it to flow more easily. It is a great season to learn and practice emotional intelligence, and see clearly where feelings are flowing smoothly and when they are not.

It’s safe to say we’ll have set some long term emotional patterns, for better or worse, by the end of August. That’s because after all the Grand Water Trines are done, and the last T-square is finished as Jupiter in Cancer leaves its square to Uranus, Venus in Libra sets the T-square into motion again between August 24-28, but creates a Grand Cardinal Cross, which will fracture a lot so that we can get clear about what roles we’re playing and what roles we’re not.

Saturn exactly conjuncted my Sun this morning... now one more time when it goes direct, and that transit is done. I think Neptune trining it has softened it a little. The conjunction is in my 6th house, but I don't feel like working at all, except for painting, reading, and stitching -- and dreaming of a cottage by the beach.e
