In Western Astrology, Jupiter enters Cancer at 6:04 pm PDT, 9:04 pm EDT on June 25, 2:04 am Greenwich June 26, where it will stay for about a year. It’s a new adventure for us all!
That means Jupiter, the expansive principle of inner and outer space, is now expressing through the filter of a sign associated with feelings, protection, nurture, home, family, and establishing a base of operations and line of secure supply. It is the sign of active feelings and up close and personal experiences. We can assume this means an explosion of new feelings and major realignments will come forth over the next year that will create a huge release of energy after it enters Leo on July 16-17. 2014.
Today I don’t have time to compose a thorough article on Jupiter in Cancer, but will soon. Just remember that now it’s entered the Grand Water Trine with Saturn and Neptune that’s been triggered up to now by Mercury, Venus, and the Sun. As Jupiter and Neptune both rule Sagittarius and Pisces, the former in this world and Neptune in the transcendent world, it puts the focus on a harmonious understanding and relationships between these two principles in our inner world of Being and outer world of Doing
So we’re entering a brief period of harmony and stabilization between Jupiter and Neptune with more harmony and stability via the trines to Saturn. This will establish a flow that we’ve explored up to now into major motion, as if we now move from the river to the sea. While there will be very important “karmic adjustments,” these have to happen so that nothing can obstruct our entry into a new social feeling-experience.
This will give momentum to some collective ideals already set into motion in early and late June via the other Grand Water Trines. And as per what I recently wrote about the Grand Water Trines being followed by the “plunges” and integrative challenges of the Cardinal T-squares, Jupiter will make its Cardinal T-square once it gets close enough to oppose Pluto and square Uranus between the second week of July and the end of August.
This is flow followed by release, understanding followed by a powerfully focused need to balance or recalibrate something. The Jupiter square Uranus opposition Pluto shows the emergence of a new standard of fairness or balanced perspective in collective consciousness. A new collective ideal is taking shape, but it’s also extremely hard-edged and requires tremendous focus, clarity, and knowing when we’re in the presence of coercion, dishonesty, opportunities that are not safe, and erratic situations that could quickly get out of hand.
Obviously anyone with planets or sensitive points in the early degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, or Pisces will find themselves on the edge of discovery, the beginnings of a new adventure in life and/or consciousness, or flowing more quickly in the direction already set in the weeks before this event. This represents a major point of deciding, reorienting, establishing a new life direction, seeing a new need, or moving into a closer set of caring relationships. Just learn to navigate the Jupiter opposition Pluto and then square to Uranus with balance, grace, idealism, and a sense of moderation and perspective.
For today, open to a new era, new feelings, new dedication, new ways of capturing what you need to secure your base of operations or your family necessities, both material and nonmaterial. The fellowships formed during the past year, the new perspectives and new understanding of our place in life and how our ideas fit into larger pictures, now will have “feeling-substance” that will show us which way our lives are flowing, whether easy or challenging.
So go with the flow, even if it occasionally leads to rough waters. Stay balanced and keep a sense of perspective. Jupiter will be trining Saturn off and on for the next year, bringing understanding and stability between the Cancer and Scorpio areas of our charts.
Through early September, learn how to stay on course, get focused and put your will power into play, avoid dishonest or corrosive people and opportunities that are dangerous or marginal, and be willing to be open and above board in asking for what you want. Learn well, since these themes are front and center again between January and May 2014. There will definitely be global developments as a result of Jupiter opposing Pluto and squaring Uranus, so take note and prepare however you need to deal with these larger frictional situations.
This is truly a turning point, and the flow is leading us to greater vision, greater experience, greater connectedness, and a more abundant and secure life. We have gone through the dilemmas, conflicts, disagreeing positions, and discoveries of Jupiter in Gemini, and now we understand how to navigate the fogs and confusions to get to the other shore. A greater emotional understanding, intelligence, and spiritual concerns are promised by Jupiter in Cancer.

1. isn't this a fairly rapid transit for Jupiter through a sign?
2. Mercury Retro calls for an edit in your second paragraph. ;)
Thanks for all you do Robert!

Hi Sally - 1) Jupiter takes between 11-12 years to transit all the signs. Depending on where it is in its orbit relative to the Sun, it moves slowly or quickly through a sign, as per the concept of perihelion and apehelion. That entirely determines how long it stays in a sign.
It sure didn't stay long in Aries. It was there for a few weeks in the Summer of 2010, then went back to Pisces, then roared through Aries the first few months of 2011. I believe it only spent 7.5 months total in Aries. It'll be in Cancer almost 13 months.
2) Thanks for the catch. I had created one sentence, and then created another, then merged them without trimming the excess words. I had to compose about 30 articles in 8 days before hitting the road to the Hamptons for the recent talks, so didn't get to edit as I would have liked. When I composed this I was fried.....

Geesh! Uranus is currently sitting on my Venus at 12Aries, and Pluto is near my Neptune at 9Cap. I'm born at the beginning of Pisces, with my moon at 0Aries squaring a stellium with Mars, Saturn and Uranus at 0Cap. Things are about to get interesting, huh?!

Are you a Virgo, Sally? LOL!

And Nelson Mandela, with a natal Sun in Cancer, is about to leave (or has already left, in my opinion) this set of dimensions.
I haven't looked at an accurate natal chart for Tata, so I can't make more of this. Maybe one of you learned astrologers can?

and particularly when Jupiter is the natal ruler of the second house! go figure

and come to think of it...solar arc jupiter is exactly conjunct my natal sun in my 8th and trine the natal ascendan... so I really don't understand it.
and oh oh add to that, SA venus is beginning to trine my natal jupiter in 14 taurus too...so what gives?

Ah, Christy - thank you for explaining it! Jupiter was transiting my 8th house these last few months, somewhat making sense of all that money I seemed to have bumped into.
Sorry. A bit. :)

I have jupiter transiting my 12th natal house cconjunct my ascendant and saturn conjunct my sun and jupiter in fifth house. I have just launched my new business web site. I left my previous job to promote this new venture. I'm wondering how it will effect my life as jupiter travels into my first house. I'm hoping saturn turning direct will help!

Jupiter is still in my 6th house, which is great while I seek employment then it will enter my 7th house at 7 degrees Cancer. Hopefully there will be an improvement in my relationships! My MC is 3 degrees Scorpio so my IC is 3 degrees Taurus. My ASC 7 degrees Capricorn. I'm sure this will impact me :)

My sun entered my first house today and is trining my sun in fifth and jupiter in ninth house not fifth (correction). I'm starting to feel gradually stronger and more confident about promoting my home business. I'm in the advertising and marketing phase and II really hope I begin to get some customers very soon.
