This stabilizing, inspired, and ennobling Full Moon that will flood us all with energy falls at the 1st degree of Leo and Aquarius on July 22 at 11:15 am PDT, 2:15 pm EDT, 7:15 pm Greenwich (BST). This is the spiritual power of love and creativity expressed in a visionary way. Here we take the freedom offered since the New Moon and use it for transformation and clarity.
Now we take a look at the rising signs around the world. The Lunation finds 5 Libra rising in Santa Monica, 1 Libra in Vancouver, 5 Scorpio in Toronto, 9b Scorpio in Montreal, and 8 Scorpio in Washington DC, showing (from west to east) early Libra through early Scorpio as the rising signs across North America. We move east where we find 2 Capricorn rising in Rio, 5 Capricorn in Lisbon, 2 Capricorn in London, 14 Capricorn in Berlin, 8 Aquarius in Sofia, 6 Pisces in Johannesburg, and 13 Aquarius in Moscow.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 27 Aries in Abbottabad, 1 Taurus in New Delhi, 25 Aries in Trivandrum, 26 Taurus in Phnom Penh (July 23), 10 Gemini in Hong Kong, 11 Cancer in Tokyo, 21 Taurus in Perth, 13 Gemini in Melbourne, 25 Gemini in Brisbane, 7 Cancer in Wellington, and 1 Virgo rising on Maui.
So you can construct a rough chart for where you are in the world, I’ll give you the rounded up degree for each planet. Use the Ascendants given above to get a rough sense of what’s on the eastern horizon where you are, and using an Equal House system, you can see what’s going on in your part of the world for the next 2 weeks.
In this Full Moon with the Sun at 1 Leo and the Moon at 1 Aquarius, Mercury is 14 Cancer, Venus is 1 Virgo, Mars is 7 Cancer, Jupiter is 6 Cancer, Saturn is 5 Scorpio, Uranus is 13 Aries RX, Neptune is 5 Pisces RX, Pluto is 10 Capricorn RX, TransPluto is 30 Leo, Chiron is 14 Pisces RX, and the NN is 14 Scorpio.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out the recent New Moon articles New Moon in Cancer Pt. 1 - What’s Happening in July-August 2013. You'll find more at New Moon in Cancer Pt. 2 - How Will This Mercury Retrograde Lunation Affect Us and The July 2013 New Moon in Cancer Pt. 3 - Signs, Sabian Symbols, and What It All Means.
Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Full Moon are the places where it falls near the angles of the chart. Places on our list where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are (Sun/Moon): all of North America (MC/IC), Rio and Europe from Lisbon to Moscow (Dsc/Asc), Pakistan and India (IC/MC), and Tokyo and Wellington (Asc/Dsc).
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation is one of several that extend from Cancer to Virgo. These include Mars and Jupiter opposed Pluto, the Full Moon, and Venus opposed Neptune. Lots of awareness and/or polarization coming the next two weeks!!M/p>
The best thing is that though it’s wide, the Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn, and Pisces planets form a rectangle, so that every opposition has multiple points of productivity and harmonized understanding. Venus “translates the light” of the Grand Water Trine, re-activating it for the next two weeks. Add that the Full Moon makes an opposition-quintile-tredecile to Uranus, and we have highly specialized gifts and circumstances offering serendipity to those affected by that configuration. More on this in part 3.
The Moon is ruled by Saturn and Uranus, while the Sun rules itself. Because of the sign positions of the planets, the Sun and Neptune are in their home signs, but disposit no other planets. The chain of final dispositors in this chart involves Mars, the Moon, and Saturn.
The extremely favorable Mars trine Saturn, now pulled back into a forming aspect via the Venus “translation of light” just mentioned, keeps the Water Trine building energies front and center. Saturn is doubly important due to the Moon in the Fixed T-square with the Sun and Saturn releasing that energy into the Taurus void. So expect the harmony of flow to continue, with Saturn focusing that energy in ways that show us either a) a past we must discard to open the door to a life renewal, and/or b) the past we’ve already discarded that has already opened us to a new freedom.
Due to Saturn being a dispositor of Pluto, and Saturn being one of the Water anchors for the Splay configuration at work in this chart, it intensifies the prominence of Scorpio energies. We continue to be put in touch with a deeper reality, or a deeper feeling of connection with others as well as our own emotional depth.
This one is enormously productive in helping us get clear about what we want or need to transform through the power and light of love or creativity while staying in the flow of where the Water Trine has taken us since early June. It will illuminate what is going to go into high gear in August and help us simplify as we prepare for the Great Sextile Merkaba 6-pointed Star already in motion each day when the Ascendant or Midheaven transits early Taurus. So as with the past month, whether we’re being “washed out to sea,” or “going with the flow,” or “having a white water rafting experience,” or “drifting downstream,” water continues to be the metaphor for this Full Moon period.
We are now moving forward through a period of rapid openings, quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years. As in June and July, we will be experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely during this time of deep feelings and necessary structuring. This Full Moon will bring major decisions and actions that throw us into a clearer destiny, even though the process is pretty crazy and we’ll probably be experiencing more irrationality than normal, given the Moon is triseptile Mars and Jupiter.
Is the Sun Following the Moon, or the Moon Following the Sun?
This is the fourteenth and last Full Moon where the Sun falls in the subsequent sign to the Sun at the previous New Moon. This is the final Lunation in this “reversed pattern” from the “normal” pattern we last experienced between September 2010 and June 2011. We had this sequence of Full Moon Suns in different signs than the previous New Moon from July 2009 through September 2010. Then we had a sequence of the New Moon Sun being in the same sign as the next Full Moon Sun. As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepares the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So Sept 2010 through June 2011 we had the New Moon Sun in the same sign as the subsequent Full Moon Sun every month. From July 2011 the pattern continued, but the New Moon began to fall at the end of the month, with the Full Moon in the middle of the next month. Even though the New Moon Sun was in the same sign as the Full Moon Sun, the seeds were set into motion at the end of a month, with Full Moon activity beginning the middle of the next month.
This shifted in May-June 2012, when we had a New Moon at 1 Gemini in late May, a Full Moon at 15 Gemini-Sag in early June, and another New Moon at 29 Gemini in late June. That began the current sequence of the New Moon Sun at the end of one sign, with the following Full Moon Sun in the next sign.
So June 2012 began our current reversed experience from the “normal” New Moon-Full Moon cycle. We’ve been having an illuminated form shown to us at the Full Moon, followed by the Sun being in the same sign as the previous Full Moon. This is fulfillment followed by similar Solar seeds of potential while reversing the natural process.
So this is the last time in this sequence that the New Moon Sun is in a different sign than the following Full Moon Sun. To illustrate, the January 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Capricorn, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Aquarius. The February 10, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Aquarius, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Pisces.
Continuing through the Spring, the March 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Pisces, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 7 Aries. The April 10 New Moon Sun was at 21 Aries, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 6 Taurus. The May 9 New Moon Solar Eclipse was at 20 Taurus, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 5 Gemini. The June 8 New Moon was at 19 Gemini, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 3 Cancer.
This “reversed Sun sign” phenomenon now ends. In August we will have a New Moon at 15 Leo on August 6-7, and a Full Moon Sun at 29 Leo on August 20-21. This will restore the “natural” order of Lunation Suns, offering us seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 1 Aquarius-Leo. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, physical, material levels of life, and being the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of those signs, Aquarius and Leo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 1st degree of Leo is “A case of apoplexy.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar ways this is a degree of “A basic symbol of Man: forceful, dangerous entrance into the Soul realm,” “irresistible outpouring of self,” and “Activity per se.”
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "an irruption of bio-psychic energies into the ego-controlled field of consciousness,” and states this symbols is related to Solar Fire, one of the three “divine Fires.” This is the fire that is “released from an integrated person, either through spontaneous radiations of apparently nuclear forms of energy, or… through conscious emanations” of the mind.
He goes on to offer that “this process is a potentially dangerous one,” where “the realization of Atman, the Spiritual Self,” requires “the existence of a formed and steady ego… (that) can become a lens of pure crystal focusing the all-pervasive cosmic light of the Brahman.” Also that “the transformation of ‘life’ into ‘mind’ is a difficult process.” He offers us the keyword of Conflagration, where “the energies of the biological drives as they irrupt more or less forcefully, into the field of consciousness.” So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the Light of going through some serious irruptions of energy into our lives, where we allow heart Fire to come forth. He states this degree falls in the Span of Assurance, Act of Stabilization, and Scene of Combustion on the Actional level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “an overwhelming potentiality, and of an ever-pressing necessity for genuine self-establishment and personal stability.” He says this is about “a lack of inhibition” and an “ability to mobilize all (our) powers and even risk our own existence rather than accept any thwarting of (our) desires.”
He goes on to state that this is about “the unbroken continuity between being and doing, or between identity and its continual manifestation of itself.” He offers the keyword IRRESISTIBILITY, and states when operating positively, the degree is “creativity in the day-by-day expression of the self’s real possibilities.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 1st degree of Aquarius is “An old adobe mission.” In the original Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Mastery of man over environment while becoming an integral part of it,” “recognition of established values,” and “Impressiveness.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the power inherent in all great human works to endure far beyond the workers’ life spans.” He goes on to state this is about “a more spiritualized and idealistic or creative picture of the social forces at work,” putting the focus on “the enduring character of human achievements ensouled by a great vision.”
He says this symbol calls us to project “a noble ideal into concrete forms of beauty and significance,” using a “civilizing power into an institution” offering others “the opportunity to reach a higher, more organized and productive, level of activity. We are told this represents “the concretization of an ideal.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Defensiveness, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Contribution on the Actional level.
So this first degree shows the form of this Full Moon involves some type of work done with others that concretizes a noble ideal, or a “spiritual touchstone” that will outlive us. Here we take the light of combustion and express it through something that offers us or others a greater vision.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of our “everlasting sustainment, and of the necessity for both an over-all orientation and an underlying stability in all personal existence.” This is a symbol of our “heritage of enduring ties which (we) must neither neglect nor underrate,” which calls us to remember our “own true state.” He says “here is emphasis on the unbroken continuity between the psychological and physical certainties of (our) being, and a reminder of their continuing value.”
He offers us the keyword DURABILITY. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is effective breadth of vision and a respect-compelling depth of character.”
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of an “overwhelming potential” that comes forth spontaneously and creatively, expressed in a larger orientation that is enduring and “our true state.” Here the light of Solar Fire results in a greater ideal of living. This is the light of living in the Now expressed through some collective ideal that will outlive us.
Important transformations and clarity are promised by this Full Moon, as well as helping us see greater Truths, a more enduring stability, and the ability to get and stay clear about a larger ideal that calls us. As with last month, we need to use the emotional understanding we’ve built up to now despite the crosscurrents and conflicting signals. Just follow the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That is one factor in why things have been so incredibly polarized the past several years, and has been teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto again occupies the final degree of Leo, accenting the “caring and sharing” of important knowledge. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to release individual-spiritual energy through sharing what we deem important in selfless ways.
While Neptune has now moved on out of the exact opposition, they will again be very close between August and November 2013 when TransPluto re-enters early Virgo and Neptune is at 3 Pisces. In this chart, there are important forming aspects to TransPluto made by Mercury (semisquare), Mars and Jupiter (septile). These show us where Divine “Redemptive-Compassion” lessons and expressions will be experienced.
Those who have cultivated interactive compassion and/or intuition have and will continue to find themselves attracted to situations of larger influence, which got a new boost via the transits in Aries in March and April. We now have fully entered the Jupiter in Cancer experience! And you can bet that when it moves across the Solar degree of this chart in July 2014, these illumination lessons will be front and center!
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
As it’s back at the final degree of Leo, enjoy this penultimate period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
In Part 3 we'll cover the aspects, configurations, and which degree spans will be impacted by this Full Moon in Leo-Aquarius. See you soon!
Here are a couple of article written about Neptune opposing TransPluto back when the former was in Aquarius and the latter in Leo. Now they’ve moved into a separating opposition that is out of sign, since it falls from Pisces to Leo. Still, what you’ll read in these and in the internal links to other articles will help you understand how TransPluto, aka Percephone, Parvati, or Divine Mother, is influencing the 21st century and our human conception of “G_d.” And of course, I'll be updating the information in the future.

I can attest that you knew what you were writing about! OH MY.

I've actually got no idea what happened there - but hours before the Full Moon, and a little after Mercury went Direct, the floodgates opened in my location.
Power cut at 2:30 am, office-suit-trousers full of candle wax, a computer at work on which I could do *nothing*, and a car with a very flat battery. Sigh.
Love,

Yes I agree with Jo, you do indeed know of that which you are writing, the fire of spirit via the emotion of the divine mother will flow at full power creating whatever is in the true nature of mindset and so many of the transits plus the grand water trines influence will enable that flow easily, directing my intent towards a good and loving flow. One either floats and goes with the flow or struggles against it and flounder in the strong current of change, there is always a choice, I am happy to float on my back and look up, enjoying the ride these days.

So this is what fire feels like. I don't have any personal planets in fire ... never had a feel for it before. I don't know that I would be getting it if it wasn't for the integration factor. Touching the deep fire. I do have progressed moon and saturn in fire at this time though.
