The Moon's Nodes are important in understanding of our line of greatest evolutionary development, as well as our line of least resistance. As a result of recent requests, today we take a new look at the Moon's Nodes, what they mean, and how they work.
It’s been two years since we took a look at this subject, and then it was incomplete due to other more pressing articles that had to be written at the time I published the first two in this series. They were all originally published about 6 years ago, and so I’ve updated everything and re-edited them for readability. And now, it’s time to take a new look at the Moon’s Nodes, what they are, why they are important, and how they work in the signs, houses and in transits.
The Nodes of the Moon have their own cyclic process, and play an important part in the timing on Eclipses as well as how we grow and what we let go of. They also give indicators through the transits that conjunct them where human growth potential can be directed for greatest growth, or through following the "line of least resistance," how we can practice economy of energy.
When the transiting Nodes conjunct our planets, we are shown growth and release energies that help us know how and when to build, and when to demonstrate what we've already learned to our world. We can see when we're "inhaling" certain energies, and the long term growth patterns associated with those energies. We also see when we're "exhaling" energies, and how to release or "do" those energies appropriately.
According to traditional lore, in terms of transiting planets making aspects to the transiting Moon's Nodes, they are said to be primarily active only when the Moon makes an aspect to either of them. However, I have found that they work on their own level as an independent "tendency" toward growth and release, movement into and out of old patterns.
Since the Lunar Nodes are crucial in creating Eclipses, that's another major Nodal influence apart from their transits to our planets, or transiting planets making aspects to the transiting Nodes. I'll discuss how transits to our Nodes work in subsequent articles.
Regarding Eclipses, they only happen when there is a New or Full Moon conjunct the Moon's Nodal axis. In other words, if the Sun and/or the Moon conjunct one of the Moon's Nodes at a Lunation, it forms an Eclipse.
When there is a New Moon conjunct either the North or South Node, it is a Solar Eclipse. When there is a Full Moon conjunct the Nodes, it's called a Lunar Eclipse. I've written extensively on how Eclipses work in prior articles, so enjoy exploring the archives if you want to know more.
You can usually find an explanation of the influence of the Nodes in the articles explaining any Eclipse. Since several of the Solar Eclipses are still major players in all our lives, you may want to check out what I wrote about the 2011 and 2012 Solar Eclipses that are still active. It'll help you understand what everyone's been going through since then, and will continue to go through for some time to come. I've included links to them at the bottom of this article.
Over the next week we'll continue our exploration of the influence of the North Node and South Node of the Moon, how they work in general and in our charts. This can help us understand why certain paths of growth are so tough, but so rewarding over the long haul, and why there are times when all we can do is let go and "show what we know."

Perfect! This one rather iimportant subject that't been a lot on my mind lately! Why? It is about to co junct my natal venus at 14 d scorpio and then my natal ic!!!!

Hi. My natal north node is in Scorpio in the 7th house. Transiting north node is now conjunct my natal Venus--both are conjunct my descendant and trine transiting Chiron in the 11th house.
Does this mean that I'm finally going to figure out romantic relationships, do some healing in that area, and finally get on track?

Merci de revenir sur le sujet ; NN en scorpion natal 12°28 en M 3 maître de Vénus, et actuellement conjonction du NN céleste donc un cycle qui redémarre ; que faut-il en déduire ?
(From google translator: "Thank you to return to the subject; NN native scorpion 12 28 M-3 Master Venus and currently conjunction of celestial NN therefore a cycle restarts, what does this mean?")

Hi Micheline - Anything we have in Scorpio has been pulled to develop along larger collective lines (transiting NN). I go extensively into how transiting Nodes affect us in subsequent articles coming all this week.
Hi Cyn - As per what I just told Micheline, it's a pull to growth. It may be through giving up an old desire, an old pattern of attraction which led to difficulty, or you may have been "holding the void" and now understand what you do and do not want to attract. The Water Trines have been good for helping everyone heal into their Higher Self through seeing what they're feeling and embracing possibilities of emotional intelligence.
Hi Valeriane - I am not completely sure what you asked, since I don't know how accurate the translator was. Can only say that as I've just explained, the transiting Nodes show larger magnetic lines of growth and release, development and "showing what we know." So if you have a planet in Scorpio, it's developed at various points since NN entered Scorpio. There are more articles to post on the transiting Nodes coming throughout this week.

Google translators pretty good. Wow. I speak that language fluently. Thanks Robert for commenting on my post!
