Today we’re getting a re-run of major elements of the Great Sextile Merkaba that helped us anchor a grounded form of Grand Water Trine plus Grand Earth Trine energy in our lives. It should be a great day to put a lot of things together!
This six pointed Star pattern is very auspicious and a great time to ground spiritual energy in practical yet fluid forms. We have had opportunities all Summer to learn to use these interactive Earth and Water energies wisely. Many have come to a new emotional intelligence, or new emotional understanding about themselves and what they need and care about via the Grand Water Trines in play. These have been anchored in new practical life activities with the various planets making trines to Pluto in earthy Capricorn.
Of course, it hasn’t been a ride without a few bumps and sudden plunges, since these harmonizing and stabilizing Grand Trines have also made oppositions between Taurus and Scorpio, Cancer and Capricorn, and Virgo and Pisces. Oppositions bring awareness, but also tension that requires we learn eternal lessons around resolving “the tension of opposites,” as it is put by the Tibetan Master DK. These have shown us inherent polarizations and polarities in circumstances, interactions, and choices.
From time to time these oppositions have been forced into resolution and integration through the T-squares made from other planets. The Cancer-Capricorn oppositions have been forced to resolve through Uranus in Aries, with the Libra void challenging us all to stay balanced, with a sense of perspective, proportion, justice, and fair play. These T-squares challenged us to integrate these Cardinal sign energies which have just been put to the first of several tests by Venus in Libra creating a Grand Cross.
Back to the current set of configurations. You will recall the Grand Water Trine happening today has been in play off and on since early June. The first one involved the Grand Water Trine of Mercury/Venus in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces interacting with Moon in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn with the Asc and MC transiting Virgo creating a Grand Earth Trine. The second one in early July featured the Sun and Jupiter in the Cancer slot, Moon in Taurus, and the Asc and MC in Virgo.
The third one in late July was the first one to have all 6 points occupied by planets, with Venus in the Virgo slot and Moon in Taurus setting it all into motion. I explained these three initial Grand Sextiles in the article The Great Sextile Star of David Merkaba of Late July 2013.
In that article you’ll find explanations about what this is, how it works, and how we could put the energies to best use. I also offered other ways to view what happened and what we were learning and experiencing in Astrology in August 2013 – Afterthoughts on the Great Sextile Merkaba Event. This article really bears re-visiting, since it can help bring some perspective about how you have participated in this extraordinary spiritual configuration that will bring better feelings and experiences in your future each time there’s a transit to early Earth and Water signs.
Hint – the last part of October features Sun in early Scorpio and Mars in early Virgo creating a very powerfully productive opposition, sextile, trine configuration with Neptune. This will express the Taurus lessons we’ve been learning since early June.
We had another shot at learning about and using this “Star of Solomon” Great Sextile configuration a week ago when the Moon was in Taurus, again anchoring a Grand Earth Trine with Sun and Mercury in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn, with Jupiter just barely still in the Cancer zone. While the Great Sextile helped us understand, stabilize, and integrate, it also accompanied the second of several Grand Crosses activating between now and April 2014. That set the Uranus T-square into motion, but with a planet occupying the void of the T-square the energy fractures rather than integrates.
The Grand Water Trine is now no longer a constant, since Jupiter is now significantly past the opposition to Pluto. But the Moon in Cancer today is bringing it all back home, so to speak. Today we get a “feeling echo” of the Grand Water Trine, along with the Moon sextile Sun and Mercury in early Virgo trine Pluto. That gives us 5 points active, with the Taurus point filled in by the Ascendant and Midheaven two times today everywhere on Earth.
So take some time today to reflect on how you’ve grown emotionally this Summer, what you now understand that you didn’t before, and how practical events have shown you ways to anchor your new feeling-awareness. And you may know that somehow, in navigating the various Cardinal T-squares and the recent Grand Cardinal Cross, you now have a different sense of rhythm, different sense of touch, feel differently about things and people than you used to, and you’re now living a new feeling-knowing.
This finishes the first of several huge evolutionary lessons for those who have been consciously participating in the global shift that happened at the last Winter Solstice Cosmic alignment coinciding with the end of that particular Mayan Calendar. Humanity is moving into a greater clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience.
Those who have kept their minds and hearts open to a greater embrace of emotional intelligence have now finished the first big class in what humanity is learning over the next 2300 years. The next class begins soon when Venus in Scorpio sets the long term Jupiter trine Saturn into motion followed by the late October period mentioned 4 paragraphs above.
Time and evolution are a continuum. Your awareness and growth are a continuum. Reflect on how you’ve grown, and are growing, into a more graceful balance between mind and feelings. While it may feel unsteady from time to time, at least you’re noticing. Welcome to living in the NOW!

Great site! This has indeed been quite a summer of emotional growth for me and many people I know. Very thorough analysis. Thanks!

Amazing! I've definitely been nurturing my internal development this summer. I look forward to integrating these new patterns and releasing the old. Thank you so much, Robert!

Hi Valerie - No difference. A hexagonal "star" is called both. DNA too.
Hi Angela - You're most welcome.
Hi Parmis - The Jupiter trine Saturn will further stabilize and develop the general "emotional intelligence" themes of the Summer.
