Astrology in October 2013 – A Cardinal T-Square with Other Frictional Gear Grinding

Right now we have the Sun moving through the square to Pluto and opposition to Uranus. Coupled with the aspects to/from Venus and Mars, we have 5 points of a Great Octile 8 pointed Star!

Unlike the 5 and 6 pointed Stars which are specializing and productive, and the 7 pointed Stars which indicates points of choice and change where we precipitate our destinies, the 8 pointed Star is frictional, to say the least. Here we have a powerful Cardinal T-square along with Venus square Mars, which though separating, is still very close and in octile-series aspects to the planets in the Cardinal T.

This may be a bit of a frictional time, but it’s great for integrating things and finding power through what we care for and what we’re willing to protect and nurture. It most affects those born at the end of March and beginning of April, the end of June/beginning of July, the end of September/beginning of October, and the end of December/beginning of January, plus anyone with planets or angles near 8-12 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.

The T-square challenges us to remember the emotional intelligence we developed in June, July, and August, and care for what needs caring for. What do you care about? What do you need? What’s out of balance and making you feel insecure or like there are erratic things happening? All of these are directly related to the T-square.

Find what you value that will also be valued by society, and pursue it wholeheartedly. Cut loose from clutching and insecurities, and remember that often kindness and a sense of humor helps us get from here to there. This is not a Grand Cross since the Sun is still binovile Jupiter, a very spiritual aspect that shows us a point of realization that will be resolved and synthesized with other Truths about 40 days from now.

The Sun is the third planet in the “firing sequence” of the T-square. We now get the light of what we experienced via Venus triggering the Grand Cross in mid-August and then Mercury triggering the Cross from Libra in mid-September. We got a dose of what this was about when Venus was in early Libra and triggered the Grand Cross. The Sun now powers up and vitalizes the T-square with Uranus and Pluto, but is still about 7-10 days of making the square to Jupiter, and by then it will no longer be square Pluto.

HOWEVER! Keep in mind that the Venus square Mars is still VERY close in orb, and therefore extraordinarily powerful. Just because something is separating does not mean it has no influence.

At this time, Venus is semisquare the Sun, semisquare Pluto, and sesquisquare Uranus. Mars is semisquared by the Sun, and sesquisquare both Uranus and Pluto. That makes for 5 points of a Great Octile. These are all frictional aspects. Whether internal or external crises and turning points, and/or aggravations and events that prod us forward, this is what’s in the air at this time.

This set incorporates the 7-12 degree spans of the Cardinal signs mentioned earlier and adds another 4 zones at 22-27 of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius to the mix. If you have anything in any of these 8 degree spans (or a couple of degrees to either side) then you’re going through inner changes, outer challenges of integration practice, and things that are pushing you forward not to a crisis, but to a quickened drumbeat (that may not be comfortable!)

This is going on for the next few days, so heads up! What needs elimination so you can purify some element of your body, feelings, or mind? What needs balancing, with kindness, so you can either a) come up for air, or b) rededicate yourself to a deeper experience of your life as an archetypal process? We’ve all been “cut and polished” so we could acquire a social value, and only need remember that humor and a sense of the irony of things as we explore the deeper Mysteries of life is the only way to travel!!

This period initiates a new type of larger service for many, as well as a time of training, resoluteness, and patience. Our valor is being tested in ways that could be of value in our social existence. There are transmutations to be had after we eliminate or purify whatever needs it, and for many, it’s a new day, a new world, and a new life to be appreciated.

And friction. A lot of it moving us forward, in numerous ways. Friction can be a good thing if it spurs us to move on behalf of our higher interests. As one great one put it, “very little of lasting value has ever been created in comfort.”

So act with all the heart indicated by Mars in Leo, with the light of a balanced perspective via the Sun in Libra. It’s the surfacing of new individuality and the fulfillment of the old Pluto function for the past 9 months. Venus in Scorpio can focus its intensity to express the heart of Mars in Leo in simple, enjoyable, detached, and genuinely friendly ways while the Sun shows us how to implement techniques of caring and nurture we practiced in June and July.

Be thoughtful as you move through the intensified flow and friction shown by these 5 planets in Octile relationships. As it involves Sun, Venus, Mars, Uranus, and Pluto, there are personal, social, and transpersonal elements that will be set into motion. Where they fall in your chart, and what houses they rule, will show you what’s in play for you.

ah yes, the power to create magnificently or destroy diabolically, passion for ones true values, yet is that being triggered as love for good values and fairness or anger to war for the unfairness, to me the first is the option I choose and with my natal vertex in the span at 26Taurus, plus natal Uranus and Mars in the Leo span, I will definitely do my best to keep as much of my focus on a good aim than an anti one.
