Yesterday I introduced the concept that ever since the North Node and then Saturn entered Scorpio from opposite ends of the sign, we’ve all been learning a lot through both these transits about what to eliminate and the value of learning to “hold the void” until we attract what is more suitable to our current existence than whatever we had to let go of. Today we see which generations have been powerfully affected by these ongoing transits.
Between August 2012 and July 2013, the North Node exercised a powerful magnetic growth influence for all those with planets in the last half (15-30 degrees) of Scorpio. From July 2013 through February 18, 2014, the North Node exercises a powerful magnetic growth influence for those with planets in the first half (1-15 degrees) of Scorpio. This gives you a rough estimate of where the NN was/will be during this time span.
Conversely, Saturn continues to exercise its restructuring and maturing influence wherever we have the first half of Scorpio in our charts. It began in October 2012, and went retrograde at 12 Scorpio (coming Solar Eclipse alert!) in February 2012. It retrograded back to 5 Scorpio, where it went direct in July. It has now moved forward through 5-15 Scorpio from July to mid-November 2013, when it will enter the second half of Scorpio.
Saturn will be between 16-24 degrees of Scorpio from mid-November 2013 until early March 2014, when it will go retrograde at 24 Scorpio. It then retrogrades back to 17 Scorpio and goes direct in late July 2014. It then moves forward between 17-30 Scorpio through 23 December 2014, when it enters Sagittarius. This gives you a rough estimate of where Saturn has been and will be during this time span.
Now for the generational influences: both NN and Saturn in Scorpio are offering anyone with planets or angles in Scorpio a profound opportunity to grow through the evolutionary pull of the NN and the long wave structuring of maturity and “response-ability.” Of course, Scorpio energies are pretty intense, but if that’s part of our hologram, whether by natal inclination, progressed evolution, or transiting circumstances, we may as well make the best of it. And if this is happening to Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto in our charts, Spirit is on the move in our lives!
Since these larger spiritual influences are so important, I’ve addressed some of this in previous articles. Those born between November 1983 and September 1990 have Pluto in the first half of Scorpio, and are experiencing the first Saturn transit of their Pluto between October 2012 and November 2013.
Pluto in Scorpio is a position of deep wisdom and the power of absolute regeneration by casting out all that is impure or which cannot be taken into the unknown future. While capable of great darkness, it is also the depth-purification required of all who would know absolute transcendence.
What happens to this group between late 2012 and late 2013 will be critical in setting the seeds of their wisdom process into motion so they can be more effective in participating in the evolutionary process of their world. This will bear fruit between November 2041 and September 2043.
Those born between September 1990 and November 1995 have Pluto in the second half of Scorpio, except for those born mid-Jan through mid-April 1995. The North Node passed over the Pluto of this group between late August 2012 and July 2013. This general growth pattern will be solidified and structured in this sub-generation by Saturn between November 2013 and December 2014.
Those born between late Dec 1955 and October 1963 (except mid-March through mid-October 1956) have Neptune in the first half of Scorpio, and are experiencing the same growth/restructuring energies as those with Pluto in the first half of Scorpio during the same time spans. The difference is that Neptune is the great and vast depths and breadth of relatedness in the collective field, and so shows the collective “atmosphere” as well as what is “fashionable.” It is the great sea in which we all swim.
This sub-generation will explore deeper awarenesses in the collective human condition, and are capable of holding great pressure to come to collective depth feelings. By learning and demonstrating the ability to navigate the great dark depths of the collective experience, this group shows us how to swim in the darkness to come to know how to trust our own depth awareness.
Those born between October 1963 and early November 1970 (except January through April 1970) have Neptune in the second half of Scorpio. The North Node passed over the Neptune of this group between late August 2012 and July 2013. This general growth pattern will be solidified and structured in this sub-generation by Saturn between November 2013 and December 2014.
Those born between late Nov 1974 and October 1978 have Uranus in the first half of Scorpio, and are experiencing the same growth/restructuring energies as those with Neptune and Pluto in the first half of Scorpio. The difference is that Uranus is the electrifying and revolutionizing force of Divine Inspiration, the Creative Brahman that keeps us moving, discovering, learning, and individualizing our experience through Eternity.
Those born between October 1978 and mid-November 1981 have Uranus in the second half of Scorpio, and as with the other generations with planets in the last half of Scorpio, have already had their growth pattern established before now, and Saturn will exercise its restructuring energy from November 2013 through 2014. This group will find a newer, more mature and experienced way of expressing their individuality or unique qualities in their being.
Those with Saturn in Scorpio are having their Saturn return. I have found that the Saturn return begins the instant Saturn begins its transit of any given sign, regardless of how early or late in that sign a person’s Saturn is. And the lessons certainly last as long as Saturn is in that sign, conditioning everything that follows as Saturn moves forward after that.
Saturn was in Scorpio from late December 1923 through early April 1924, and then entered it again in mid-September 1924. It was in the second half of Scorpio from October 1925 through November 1926. It again occupied the first half of Scorpio from late October 1953 through December 1954, and occupied the second half of Scorpio from Jan 1955 through mid-January 1956 and again from mid-May through mid-October 1956.
It again occupied the first half of Scorpio from December 1982 through early May 1983, late August 1983 through mid-January 1984, and mid-March 1984 through early October 1984. It was in the second half of Scorpio in February and mid-March 1984, and early October 1984 through mid-November 1985. That was the last pass of Saturn in Scorpio up to now.
If you have Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto in Scorpio, you’re going through a very heavy time. The North Node has been coaxing forth the best of these spiritual energies in your life for the entire time it’s been in Scorpio, and now that Saturn is hanging tough in Scorpio, it’s restructuring whatever generational spiritual lessons that these planets represent in your life.
So while Saturn is almost done with its work with those who have a planet in the first half of Scorpio, it’s about to begin its work with those who have a planet in the second half of Scorpio. And the North Node has already worked its influence on those with planets in late Scorpio, and continue to bring forth growth for those with planets in early Scorpio.
The new elements of personality and Spirit these have brought forth will become more in evidence when Mars transits Scorpio from late July through mid-September 2014. It again transits Scorpio between early December 2017 and late January 2018. Of note is there is a Mars conjunct Saturn at 18 Scorpio in August 2014, and a Mars conjunct Jupiter at 18 Scorpio in early January 2018. It is not difficult to connect the dots between the many Scorpio celestial events going on this year and the next few.
Whatever the coming 2014 Mars conjunct Saturn sets into play, we will eventually see wider truths related to everything happening with NN and Saturn in Scorpio between mid-October 2017 and early November 2018 when Jupiter transits this point. And while the Mars-Saturn cycle will help us structure how we do things, the Mars-Jupiter conjunction will set a new life adventure in motion related to whatever duties and responsibilities we take on under the Mars-Saturn influence beginning Summer 2014.
Saturn with the North Node in Scorpio represents a span of several years that are crucial to our individual and collective transformation. If these have crossed your Pluto, you now have the power to structure how the seed-power of your Divine Self sprouts in the world, utilizing the Divine Power of Economy of Energy to purify your life functions.
If these have touched your Neptune, you’re more aware, sensitive, and “feeling-connected” within a larger field. If they’re touched your Uranus, you now have a more developed individuality and sense of your special qualities. And if they’ve touched your Saturn, well, “you’re not a kid anymore….”
In all Saturn contacts, use Saturn's best qualities to be a world-changer, healer, individual, and/or power in ways that are perfect for who you are and what you feel will bring forth your higher purpose on Earth. Saturn transits over any of our planets show us how to utilize patience, diligence, a sense of responsibility, and maturity to achieve the dominion that is our Divine birthright. Whatever this "Ring-Pass-Not" touches is bound in and across time as part of our "Great Work."

Hi Robert,
So what may it mean to have Neptune retrograde in Scorpio at 15.40 degrees?

Thanks Robert for this timely article. Looking forward to the Mars/Saturn and Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions on my natal 18 degree Scorpio Saturn. Power in ways that are perfect for me..!

What is the different effect for those of us in the subset where Neptune retro-ed into late Libra. Or is there any difference besides a need to be persnickedity about detail, perhaps(?) ; ) Per astrodienst, from June 17 - Aug 5 ish, 1957 Neptune again dipped its rim back into Libra (I'm 7/20/57 with Neptune reportedly at 29 degrees 50'41").

Hi Robert, I hope this isnt imposing, I have natally Divine Mother in 10th and POF in 4th, or in opposition, when this Mercury rx conjuncts saturn, it will square both of these, so I understand this is a stressful aspect especially as the conjunction is in 1st house only a few degrees from natal Neptune, so my question is, because I value the privilege of the blessing of children for me to be a mother and have fight to the best job as such yet have been rejected by my biological family for not "doing it their way" females/mothers disrepected as subserviant and illogical, I am seeing this as being a big opportunity for me to "be seen" or understood a bit more for healing of my whole biological family, my offspring included and I do understand mercurial influence in my chart, yet the saturn although well experienced and understand the energetic as in patience, ethic and fear which matter a lot to me, I would just appreciate any physical representation you or others on here may offer to make the most of it in the best way for all, possible.
So far I understand Saturn to represent, father or government anything else?]
Grateful for any help with this if possible.

How phenomenally insightful that is Robert! Your observations make a heck of a lot of sense, not only for myself (October 64') but in my analysis of global events this year. Bring the future on!

Well, Mercury has just gone backward over my Sun/Asc., and I had a chance to begin to put something right which happened a couple of months ago, but which never got resolved properly. Thank you, Mercury. Although I could've done with a little less of a smack upside the head!
I've also been thinking, when all this went down today, that I started to look for answers in astrology almost immediately - the experience was that astounding. But maybe there are things not accessible to reason, even of the astrological sort. Maybe we are supposed just to experience, and learn.
Love,

debbie~
My daughters, '87 & '91, are both going through challenges also. The elder has Scorp Mars/Pluto exact; the younger Pluto/Scorp Asc. Might I share a hug with you?
Blessings upon our beloved daughters as they find their pathway(s) through and might we also be blessed with patience and healing for our hearts when they ache for These/Our and All Children upon our Earth Mother.
Love~

I would really like to find aspects and explanations of what the second saturn return means in each house. This is an especially difficult time in my life, and I need specifics to figure out what to do with my future. Can you help me find this book or web site with this info. Thanks Leo(S)Scorpio(R)Pisces(M).

Robert, I'm enjoying your work immensely & wish I had found it sooner. Thanks for these valuable insights! I have natal Saturn ion Scorpio conjunct the midheaven. Saturn's ingress to Scorpio marked - to within a few days - the start of a tremendously frustrating time in my career in govt. administration. This was almost two years ahead of my pending 2nd Saturn return. Tried it for a while, but once I became certain that the new limitations were not going to be fixable or livable, I had the impetus to retire from a secure and otherwise decent job a few years earlier than I had planned. Moving now into some part-time creative work -- the kind of thing I wanted to pursue 30 years ago, if it had had security, which needn't be the top priority any more.
