This Penumbral Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 26 Libra-Aries is activating, initiating, balancing, mobilizing, and guaranteed to bring us “gain through loss,” or power through our long term structured regeneration process. Whatever is taken away over the next few months will teach us “adeptship” as we are helped by our inner powers and invisible helpers.
Today’s article covers various rising signs around the globe and an overview of the Lunation and some of its primary qualities. In part 2 we’ll cover Sabian Symbols, aspects, distributions, and patterns.
This initiating, balancing, expansive and protective Lunar Eclipse Full Moon that will be specializing, interactive, and more harmonious than frictional falls at the 26th degree of Libra and Aries. This Lunation, bringing celebration, clear messages from our inner voice, and an ability to embrace a renewal occurs October 18 at 4:38 pm PDT, 7:38 pm EDT, and October 19, 0:38 am Greenwich (BST).
So What's Happening Where?
Now we take a look at the rising signs around the world. The Lunation finds 21 Pisces rising in Santa Monica, 7 Pisces in Vancouver, 25 Taurus in Toronto, 4 Gemini in Montreal, and 24 Taurus in Washington DC, showing (from west to east) early Pisces through early Gemini as the rising signs across North America.
That means most of the US heartland will have the Eclipse at sunset, with the Moon rising. We continue east where we find 2 Gemini rising in Rio, 29 Cancer in Lisbon (Oct 19), 13 Leo in London, 23 Leo in Berlin, 26 Leo in Sofia, 9 Leo in Johannesburg, and 10 Virgo in Moscow.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 5 Libra in Abbottabad, 9 Libra in New Delhi, 10 Libra in Trivandrum, 7 Scorpio in Phnom Penh,, 13 Scorpio in Hong Kong, 29 Scorpio in Tokyo, 4 Sagittarius in Perth, 7 Capricorn in Melbourne, 8 Capricorn in Brisbane, 3 Aquarius in Wellington, and 6 Aquarius rising on Maui (Oct 18).
So you can construct a rough chart for where you are in the world, I’ll give you the rounded up degree for each planet. Use the Ascendants given above to get a rough sense of what’s on the eastern horizon where you are, and using an Equal House system, you can see what’s going on in your part of the world for the next 2 weeks.
In this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse with the Sun at 26 Libra and the Moon at 26 Aries, Mercury is 19 Scorpio (on its SRX degree), Venus is 13 Sagittarius, Mars is 3 Virgo, Jupiter is 20 Cancer, Saturn is 13 Scorpio, Uranus is 10 Aries RX, Neptune is 3 Pisces RX (on its SD degree), Pluto is 10 Capricorn, TransPluto is 1 Virgo, Chiron is 10 Pisces RX, and the NN is 8 Scorpio.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out the recent New Moon articles New Moon in Libra Pt. 1 - What’s Happening in October-November 2013. Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Full Moon are the places where it falls near the angles of the chart. Places on our list where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are (Sun/Moon): Melbourne, Brisbane, Wellington, and Maui (MC/IC), most of the heart of North America (Dsc/Asc), Lisbon, London, and Johannesburg (IC/MC), and Pakistan, India, Phnom Penh, and Hong Kong (Asc/Dsc).
An Overview
An overview of this period ruled by this Full Moon Eclipse shows it will illuminate our ability to be balanced in our ideal function as we move into a new time of repair and reconstruction of what is left after the Eclipse takes away whatever is its function to do. This will put the focus on individual, mental, and spiritual energy in an activation at “the end of our experiment.” Here we see the Light of what Saturn taught us Nov-Dec 2011, the last half of April 2012, and the last half of August 2012, whether through what has ended or what we learned that requires some things to end these next few months that the Eclipse effect is in play.
This Lunation is extremely high on interactive gifts and circumstances, and those who have trained and cultivated a degree of intuition, connectedness, and compassion will find themselves in perfect circumstances for exactly what they need. This is a time to celebrate and see how everything and everyone is playing the part they are supposed to play.
How we’re able to handle Mercury in Scorpio quintile Mars in Virgo will entirely determine the outcome of what we go through over the next few weeks. That’s because these two are in mutual reception, and are the final dispositors for all the other planetary energies except Neptune.
There are so few frictional aspects in this eclipse that overall it should be highly productive and favorable as we navigate the choices and changes we’ll confront due to Mercury setting the Grand Irrationality into motion. Still, this Lunation Eclipse promises many highly specialized gifts and conditions over the next 4 months while it’s in effect and by the time we hit the end of November many will be in unique and very favorable interactive circumstances.
The focus of the light shows a way for us to become more direct in our ability to act on our terms in the here and now. Many will experience “an endowment beyond previous realization” and mobilize intensely and quickly to further the role they are born to play that is enjoyable and actively integrates us into our social matrix.
When in doubt, just do it! In this chart, the Moon will focus the Light of Idealism and “Right Relations” so that we can find high specialization in our interactions bringing forth very favorable future conditions. For some, this will be “redemption time,” opening doors to new life, new love, new futures, and new truths that fit better than whatever old ones are taken away by this Eclipse.
Is the Grand Irrationality A Factor in this Full Moon?
The Grand Irrationality is put into play in this Lunation by Mercury biseptile Neptune and septile Pluto. This marks a threshold of what we’ll be examining during the coming Mercury retrograde period, and gives us a time to take a new look at what Venus brought us in late September. You can find out more about this Mercury retrograde station setting up numerous triggers of The Grand Irrationality by re-reading yesterday’s article, http://www.aquariuspapers.com/astrology/2013/10/the-guide-of-souls-in-october-2013-mercury-slowing-down-preparing-to-go-retrograde-at-19-scorpio.html The Guide of Souls in October 2013 – Mercury Slowing Down Preparing to Go Retrograde at 19 Scorpio
As noted in that article, at the current time, those most affected by this irrational, compulsive, “fork in the road of destiny” type of energy have planets or angles in 9-13 Capricorn, 1-5 Pisces, 22-26 Aries, 14-18 Gemini, 5-9 Leo, 26-30 Virgo, or 17-21 Scorpio. So during the weeks this Eclipse is shutting some Lunar things down, the Grand Irrationality will be triggered by the Sun in the second week of November, Venus in the third week of November, Mercury again at the end of November, Mars the first week of December, the Sun and Mercury the end of December and beginning of January, and as I’ve noted in several previous article, it’ll be in full swing when Saturn enters that part of Scorpio beginning mid-November 2013!
As I’ve noted previously, Neptune is now closing in on a septile with Pluto in this chart, and all celestial events at this time of the year. However, they will begin to pull apart again and by next Spring will again be not quite in septile, which is the main aspect anchoring the Grand Irrationality. Right now Neptune is 53 degrees and 34 minutes away from Pluto, but by the end of May they’ll be 54d 30m apart, which is a little too wide for the septile.
As I explained in a recent article, that just means while now they will operate as a simultaneous “pulse” since they’ll both be aspected near the same time, more and more each Spring and Summer we’ll experience it as a rolling influence, with first Pluto aspected, and then Neptune at some time after that, depending on which planet is doing the aspect to these planets.
Important Factors
With the Sun quintile Pluto and the Moon tredecile Pluto, there will be specialization, gifts, and unique circumstances if you have a planet or angle in any of the zones that make conjunctions, quintiles, or biquintiles to any of these transiting planets. This Lunation opens 1-5 Gemini-Sagittarius, 7-11 Cancer-Capricorn, 13-17 Leo-Aquarius, 19-23 Virgo-Scorpio, and 25-29 Libra-Aries.
There’s also a powerful close Venus biquintile Jupiter, opening 5 zones of highly specialized “soft power” ways of getting things done, or at least finding the unique qualities of whatever is impacted by this biquintile. This aspect promises unique “captures” and opportunities to those with a planet or angle near 12-15 Sagittarius, 24-27 Aquarius, 6-9 Taurus, 18-21 Cancer, and 30 Virgo-3 Libra.
Of special note is Saturn tredecile Neptune, showing special interactive conditions that will produce unique, pleasing, and at times “responsible” circumstances. This aspect will most impact those with planets or angles near 6-10 Libra-Aries, 12-16 Scorpio-Taurus, 18-22 Sagittarius-Gemini, 24-28 Capricorn-Cancer, and 30 Aquarius-4 Pisces. As you can see, the zones in the previous paragraph will be triggered, and then soon after the energies of this paragraph will follow.
Due to Saturn’s station in February, up to now we’re been learning a more refined level of social interaction, or a higher, more sophisticated and refined way of relating to ours and others’ feelings as we move through social experiences. This is a very long term structuring power offered to humanity at this time.
We also have had numerous opportunities to learn the power of harmlessness, and those who have lessened their fear can now radiate a calm that transcends normal understanding. This Lunation is about “finishing our experiment,” and if necessary “outwitting someone or something” as we finish the lessons around the overcoming of fear and receiving rewards for embracing that gentle way.
We all began to learn how to overcome fear in the Spring of 2012, and then entered an unknown space time sector where we began to learn to view much of what goes on at core through a sense of life being a “science experiment,” with our task to understand the laws that underlie what’s going on. Now that Saturn has finished its sextile to Pluto, relax into the intensified feelings and experience the platform that is now set giving us the structure of a new life inertia or momentum.
I’ll write more about these things in part 2. The next two weeks (and 4 months) will bring new tests of learning to demonstrate will and love, mind and heart, in alternating sequence, so that we can demonstrate how we are actively using our “spiritual endowment.” Overall it should be a fairly enjoyable period, despite the losses, since we’ll learn all kinds of things by listening to the inner voice, and opening to a wider future due to a powerful renewal available to all of us through the Venus in this chart.
Since Jupiter is firmly in Cancer, we can use the emotional intelligence we built in June, July, and August to explore and find truth in new cares, new feelings, and a new sense of stability we’ve embraced since then. Of course, with Jupiter in Cancer for the Lunations since July, family and personal feelings will continue to run strong, so be clear about what you’re feeling that feeds you, or nurtures your growth in some personal way. We’ve all gone deeper into how we experience everything, and this period is seeing how to maintain a balanced view while acting in ways that bring us a sense of social happiness.
Is the Sun Following the Moon, or the Moon Following the Sun?
This is the third Full Moon where the Sun falls in the same sign to the Sun at the previous New Moon. We’re now back to the “normal” pattern we last experienced between September 2010 and June 2011. We’re now done with the “reversed pattern” we’ve been dealing with since July 2011, where the Full Moon Sun was in a different sign than the previous New Moon.
As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepares the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So Sept 2010 through June 2011 we had the New Moon Sun in the same sign as the subsequent Full Moon Sun every month. From July 2011 the pattern continued, but the New Moon began to fall at the end of the month, with the Full Moon in the middle of the next month. Even though the New Moon Sun was in the same sign as the Full Moon Sun, the seeds were set into motion at the end of a month, with Full Moon activity beginning the middle of the next month.
This shifted in May-June 2012, when we had a New Moon at 1 Gemini in late May, a Full Moon at 15 Gemini-Sag in early June, and another New Moon at 29 Gemini in late June. That began the sequence of the New Moon Sun at the end of one sign, with the following Full Moon Sun in the next sign.
So June 2012 began our current reversed experience from the “normal” New Moon-Full Moon cycle. We had an illuminated form shown to us at the Full Moon, followed by the Sun being in the same sign as the previous Full Moon. This is fulfillment followed by similar Solar seeds of potential while reversing the natural process.
So that’s now done for many months, and this is the first of a sequence where the Full Moon Sun is the same sign as the previous New Moon Sun. To illustrate, the January 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Capricorn, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Aquarius. The February 10, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Aquarius, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Pisces.
Continuing through the Spring, the March 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Pisces, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 7 Aries. The April 10 New Moon Sun was at 21 Aries, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 6 Taurus. The May 9 New Moon Solar Eclipse was at 20 Taurus, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 5 Gemini. The June 8 New Moon was at 19 Gemini, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 3 Cancer.
This “reversed Sun sign” phenomenon has now ended. In August we had a New Moon Sun at 15 Leo on August 6-7, and then the Full Moon Sun at 29 Leo. In September we had a New Moon Sun at 14 Virgo, and then we had a Full Moon Sun at 27 Virgo. Earlier this month we had a New Moon Sun at 12 Libra, and now we have a Full Moon Sun at 26 Libra. This restores the “natural” order of Lunation Suns, offering us seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half.
In part three, we will explore the Sabian Symbols, aspects, and other important chart factors.
Here's what we have so far. Each of these covers different information about this Eclipse, what it's all about, and who it most affects!
