The Full Moon of Sun in Libra and Moon in Aries, being conjunct the Lunar Nodes, is a Lunar Eclipse. What does this mean?
Since all Eclipses shut something down, this Penumbral Lunar Eclipse begins a several month "shut down" in the houses it occupies in our charts. Given that it happens with some very productive aspects, there will be very favorable changes, eliminations, and attractions promised by the void this Eclipse leaves in our lives. Over the next 4 months we will finish integrating the powerful lessons of the Saturn in Libra lessons from late 2011-late 2012, and find numerous special gifts and circumstances that are perfect for what we need.
This Eclipse will only be visible in its entirety in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. All of you lucky enough to be able to view this Eclipse remember that when it’s happening, you’re being shown a new way to experience life and the Mystery it holds for you, as well as new connections, newer deeper ways to feel your relatedness to others as well as within, and a new set of skills that will allow you to show will or love as needed.
Due to the strong Scorpio energies active in this Lunar Eclipse, over time this will regenerate us, and show us how to fuse the public and the private affairs of our lives with courage and a sense of connection to life and others. These will all come forth in some way between now and mid-February 2014.
I’ll be discussing more about what this specific Eclipse is about in the next articles on this event. For now, I’ll just say that we began a long term process of elimination and shedding old ideas, perceptions, environments, and relationships in June of 2011. This was ramped up by the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse of November 2011 and again in the Gemini Solar Eclipse of May 2012 and Sagittarius Solar Eclipse of December 2012. I'll provide links to these Eclipses in the next article in this series.
All the Eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius, both Solar and Lunar, served to shut down old ways of life, thinking, and understanding wherever we have Gemini and Sagittarius in our charts. There's a lot about them in the archives if you want to know more about their ongoing influence. The Eclipses earlier in 2013 shut down down old ways of life, feeling, and valuing wherever we have Taurus and Scorpio in our charts, and the Wesak Full Moon Lunar Eclipse opened us to a form of “Buddha Wisdom.”
So like most Lunar Eclipses, this one ushers in a transitional period of several months (this one will be in effect for 4 months) that will clear things out of our lives, and especially our past (the Moon). The space created can attract circumstances and people through which we can develop skills helping us deal with the wild ride of The Grand Irrationality that's in continuous motion during these months and years.
The June 2011 Solar Eclipse at 12 Gemini sent the Grand Irrationality into intense oscillation that helped all of of us release ghosts from the past since then so that we could move forward without excess psychological (and maybe physical!) baggage. This was be pretty much over by mid-June 2013.
This Lunar Eclipse, due to the Scorpio planets in some very productive and specializing aspects, gives us opportunities to reverse magnetism, and find stable wisdom that allows us to see voids of promise rather than discouragement. With the Saturn virtues of patience, maturity, sense of duty, and elimination of the chains of mental slavery, we can come to a clear and simple understanding of which way to go and how to do it.
Due to Mercury going stationary direct at 19 Scorpio in late 2012, some of how this Eclipse manifests will be related to what signs, signals, and understandings Mercury brought us in the period between late November2012 and mid-February 2013. This Eclipse marks the blessing of renewal as our “experiment nears completion,” while keeping the Grand Irrationality in full force for the next 4 months. It will of course most impact those with a planet in any of the 7 zones of the configuration. I’ll also discuss more about this in Lunar Eclipse articles coming over the next few days.
As a result of the short-sighted and misguided government shutdown due to seditious anarchists in the US House of Representatives, the NASA site is not available to cite in this article. However, I did find some information that will be useful for the tech-heads in the community.
From Moongiant, here’s a definition of “Penumbral:”
A Penumbra Eclipse occurs when the moon only enters the Penumbra area of the Earth's shadow. The Penumbra is a region of the shadow that is not completely obsured from the rays of the sun. This lighter shadow is a result of the relative size of the Sun to the Earth. This type of Eclipse causes the moon to only darken slightly when viewed from earth and is one of the less dramatic Lunar eclipse.
From Wikinewstime, I found the timing on the Eclipse. As you can see, it's 4 hours. According to traditional Eclipse lore, that means its effects will be seen for the next 4 months:
Penumbral Eclipse Begin 21:50:38 UT
Greatest Eclipse 23:50:17 UT
Penumbral Eclipse End 01:49:49 UT
In the next parts, we'll explore the Ascendants around the world, the qualities of the Eclipse, the Sabian Symbols, the aspects, configurations, and other specifics of this powerful Penumbral Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Libra-Aries. Check back in tomorrow!

Dear Robert, first of thank you for so many years of amazing help and insight!!! It has helped me a lot to understand many a difficult transit. I have a question about the 3rd of Nov solar eclipse: It falls slap-bang on my 12.01 dgr Scorpio sun (11th HS) as well as creating an exact 10 degree aspect to my 12.02 Sagittarius rising sign and then of course an exact 150 dgr inconjunct to my descendent...You said that eclipses always shut down an 'old' order of life, or end things/shut out depending on the planet, significant people that are no longer needed any more for 'the new order'. The concept of 'the light' going out of my sun escapes me a bit....Would it mean that by going through this phase of 5 years of 'darkness' that I profoundly will alter and change 'my true inner essence', namely my sun??? Will an old way of 'me-ness' go out in the 11th and come out the other end as something new, with a new notion of Leo values and Aquarian 11th house values? Thanks Robert
