This stabilizing and intensifying Full Moon at 26 Scorpio-Taurus will show us that communications are all important since a life adventure has begun and it’s time to be practical as we are educated by our “experiment.” This is the power of deepening our feeling of union with “delightful releases” so that we can see “the manifestation of a heart’s desire on the balcony of our life and consciousness.”
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has two other oppositions beside the Moon and Sun involving Venus opposing Jupiter that officially kicks off the influence of the forming Jupiter opposed Pluto.
We experienced Jupiter opposition Pluto from July through September, with the exact opposition at 10 Cancer-Capricorn in early August. The 31 January 2014 opposition at 13 Cancer-Capricorn is the second in the set. The third and final opposition will be the most powerful, when we demonstrate how well we’ve learned the lessons of this extreme oppositional energy.
The third opposition will fall exactly at the point of what I have termed “The Great Fracturing” of April 14-24. This span will have several periods that will be extraordinarily difficult due to very tight Grand Cardinal Cross. That opposition will happen at 14 Cancer-Capricorn, when Jupiter is conjunct the Star Sirius, the “Sun of our Sun,” and source of all the Ageless Wisdom Traditions on our planet. You can find out more about Sirius by taking a new look at Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting July, August, September, and October 2013 – Finding Timeless Truths, Fearlessness, and Our Spiritual Source
I wrote a lot about Jupiter opposition Pluto last Summer in the various articles about the Cardinal T-squares and Grand Crosses, so if you want to know more, please visit the archives to get a sense of what this long wave opposition is all about. You can also understand more by revisiting the articles on the Merkaba events of that time.
So this Full Moon features the oppositions from Venus to Jupiter, and Jupiter to Pluto. This can be a very beneficial set of oppositional energies, since Venus is also trine Mars and sextile Saturn, Mars is sextile Jupiter, and Jupiter is trine Saturn. This harmoniously links Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, and Capricorn, which should show productivity and stability in those parts of our charts.
And since these involve Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, then it affects all the houses these planets rule in our charts. Taken together, that means all in all 10 signs are impacted by this configuration (all but Gemini and Leo.) Just take a new look at opportunities that may not be opportunities, take a scientific approach to figuring out how best to proceed in any interaction or activity, and keep everything open and above board.
Success can be found by keeping your eye on the prize, don’t settle for lesser things when greater things are at stake, and always put your best self out there. This is showing us our willingness to stick with thing until we get what we deserve, and Jupiter’s natural caution in Cancer serves us as we learn to navigate the Saturn in Scorpio flow with patience, discipline, and a long range plan.
I noted the important aspects in yesterday’s article. A very mixed bag indeed! Mercury conjunct NN and Saturn should help us to release a lot while building focus and magnetism. Communications are favored, as well as letting go of old ways of interpreting things and coordinating affairs, getting clearer about the hidden or unconscious factors in any situation.
This will be excellent for developing spiritual power by going deeper while maintaining a calm mind that is receptive to higher impressions. We’ll also find a lot of value in how we’ve embraced “life as a science experiment” since Pluto’s went stationary retrograde earlier in 2013.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon is ruled by Venus and TransPluto, while the Sun is ruled by Mars and Pluto. This makes the Earth element loom large in how the Moon expresses itself, with an equally practical backdrop to the Sun. The good thing is that the worldly rulers of the Moon and Sun, Venus and Mars, are in very favorable trine from Capricorn to Virgo, promising many good practical developments in Earthly matters.
In this chart, Mercury in Scorpio and Mars in Virgo are in mutual reception, and Neptune is its own dispositor. That makes Mercury and Mars the final dispositors to how the chart will express these next 2 weeks. You can find out more by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
In the chain of dispositors, Sun is separating sextile to Mars and semisquare to Pluto, with Saturn as dispositor to Pluto in a wide forming septile to Pluto. This is the beginning of Saturn anchoring a third leg of the Grand Irrationality, as I explained yesterday. The Moon is forming a sesquisquare to Venus and out of sign square to TransPluto, with Saturn as dispositor to Venus creating the same impending major forks in the road and shifts in destiny as with the Sun.
Due to Saturn being a dispositor of Pluto, and Saturn being one of the Water anchors for the Splay configuration at work in this chart, it intensifies the prominence of Scorpio energies. We continue to be put in touch with a deeper reality, or a deeper feeling of connection with others as well as our own emotional depth.
As noted, we’re in for a few months when the Grand Irrationality is in full play. Later in this article I’ll give you a link that will take you to a recent article that elaborates on the phenomenon, as well as the hot zones that trigger these choices, changes, and events that mark forks in the road of destiny across many areas of our lives.
Now that Jupiter is again trine to Saturn, we’re again in a quickened current that is taking us somewhere. Overall this is a time of quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years. As in June, July, August, and September, we will be experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely during this time of deep feelings and necessary structuring.
This Full Moon will bring turning points in how we find delight and joy, as well as releases, both in the sense of letting go as well as demonstrating what we’ve been building. We’ve now been through Mercury retrograde, and in this chart Mercury is the same place it was in early October, showing that point in time is linked to this Lunation via Mercury. The more we can develop different modes of communication and understanding the better we’ll be.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 26 Taurus-Scorpio. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Capricorn and Cancer.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Scorpio is "Indians making camp.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “ability to feel at home in any outer or inner environment,” “efficient functioning,” and “retreating into the familiar and the known.”
He goes on to say in The Astrological Mandala that this refers to “the ability to adjust swiftly to a new situation by tuning in to its requirements.” He states this is about being “in harmony with nature, moving on as new needs arise” and finding ourselves “intuitively at home everywhere.” We are told that this concerns identifying ourselves with the biosphere, and functioning at peace wherever whenever however.
He further tells us that here we get a “message of peaceful adaptation to nature, and through adaptation, efficient functioning in all life situations.” So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of feeling at home wherever we are, being in harmony with Nature, and being resourceful as we adapt to conditions. This degree falls in the Span of Appreciation, and is the initial degree in the Scene of Faith on the individual-mental level.
Dr. Marc E Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of our “inexhaustible capacity for self-establishment” and finding what we need in practical terms. Here “reality is the result of each individual’s choices and rejections in (our) everyday dealings with the world at large,” where experience provides us with what we need. He goes on to say that our “alertness to the potentialities of (our) being becomes the secret of (our) true self-fulfillment.”
He offers us the keyword EXTEMPORIZATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “unusual resourcefulness and a gift for finding real opportunity in the least promising of situations.”
So this is a degree of learning to adapt to be at peace anywhere we find ourselves, and our ability to choose or reject whatever to find what we need in the moment. We can all learn a new efficiency through adaptability, and many will find themselves curiously “at home in the known and familiar.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Taurus is “A Spaniard serenading his senorita.” In the original Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “the power of well-defined desire which assures success in all life-contacts,” and the “Imaginative power that compels manifestation.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the ritualization of individual desires, “ where we see “collective values as they affect the individual person and … confirm (their) individuality” within some tradition. We are told this is a sense of belonging, so that we can find “a safe and secure sense of differentiation within an enfolding whole.”
He says this symbol “reveals the individual … making use of (their) personal status to find fulfillment and a sense of social identity.” He states “this is role playing in its most enjoyable form.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Enjoyment, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Confirmation on the Individual-Mental level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “unlimited capacity for self-establishment and for finding everying (we desire) immediately at hand.” He offers that all we are contributes to an effective reality rather than that which we seek to claim for ourselves, and that “a poetry of living and a music of desire become the final touchstones for a true self-fulfillment.”
He offers us the keyword CONSTANCY. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “the continual reassurance by which (our will) coaxes the depths of (our) Soul into (our) experience.”
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of efficient adaptability to take shape in a role we enjoy to play. Here the Light of Depth Connectedness and Faith takes form as an ability to find our heart’s desire, where we can achieve “a poetry of living and a music of desire.” All we need to do is define our role, function, and imagery precisely according to our love so that our love can establish these in our lives.
As with the last several Full Moons, important transformations helping us see a deeper Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to a greater empathy and ability to know shared feelings, and continues to educate us in an emotional understanding we’ve experienced since June. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto again occupies the first degree of Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
While Neptune has now moved on out of the exact opposition, it has again been close between August and November 2013 since TransPluto re-entered Virgo and Neptune is at 3 Pisces on its stationary direct degree. In this chart, TransPluto has no forming aspects made by other planets, showing it’s a standalone influence as Spiritual ruler of the sign of the Moon.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
So enjoy this penultimate period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
Important Chart Factors
Many are finding a new stability or new sense of permanence wherever they have Scorpio in their chart. As Saturn enters the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality, humanity will again confront radical forks in the road of destiny that will be determined by their decisions, actions, and non-actions. Expect things to crank up when Mercury conjuncts Saturn over the next 10 days.
Jupiter at 21 Cancer offers us the promise of the realization of some life ambition, if we can put on the show. While it’s retrograde until early March 2014, take a new look at your conception of what success might look like, and put yourself out so that others can see and applaud your talents. We’re still in an active process of personality integration through the house that Jupiter is transiting in our charts. As this is a process, we’ll be focused on this through April 2014.
Mars shows that it’s time to join with others in some sort of adventure in consciousness, where we link our energies to achieve movement into a new world of experience. Be joyous as you venture with faith, and rise to the occasion even if you feel the “equipment is inadequate.”
Because Saturn will transit the recent Mercury stationary retrograde point at 19 Scorpio in the second and third weeks of December, you may want to revisit that article to find out more about how the transits of the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality have been and will continue to unfold. If you’re inclined, please check out The Guide of Souls in October 2013 - Mercury Slowing Down, Preparing to go Retrograde at 19 Scorpio.
The seven zones activated by Mercury in this chart shows us we are on the threshold of knowing things that will alter the course and direction of our lives, and how our minds are able to recognize signs and signals and bring forth messages from the Spiritual realms of Neptune and Pluto. There may be a need to see loss and death in terms of the power it provides us to regenerate, and many will come to a deeper understanding of the permanent spiritual factors in their existence, as well as a deeper courage that will never desert them.
This period when the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality has been and continues to be triggered, shows that everyone will go through important releases of energy, people, and elements that would prevent them from being the spiritual potential they hold in the depths of their Being. This is a threshold, and some people cannot go through it with us, nor can we cross their threshold with them. So let go, let God, and show your stuff with focus and compassion. The experiment nears completion!
Spirit walks with this configuration, as well as any major septile series aspect between the planets. The choices we make as a result of these non-rational aspects show us our “direction of destiny,” and determines if the Spirit will grow stronger and closer with you, or if you will move in directions away from Spirit. Given that most of this community is intentionally trying to live in harmony with Life, Nature, and each other, chances are that whatever you – yes, YOU the reader – are confronting will show you a deeper, richer, more powerful Spiritual life. Which is a good thing.
So Just What Was the New Moon Theme for this Period?
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall it was a Hybrid Solar Eclipse, and its theme was about endings while finding a higher, deeper, more formal way of relating to and communicating with others.
Also, Scorpio is the sign of elimination, purification, and regeneration of power. It is how Taurus, the sign of values, resources, and capturing concrete forms of things, externalizes. So parts of our magnetism and how we attract things, as well as our ability to hold on to things and people will end, with the void sure to attract new forms of these.
It indicated blessings and some highly specialized favorable losses showing us which way the winds of destiny are blowing, and has been stabilizing, structuring, and unveiling a lot that has been a mystery up to now. It has been excellent for raising our way of relating to others, while continuing to let go of old Scorpio things and people wherever it falls in our charts. The voids are strengthening our magnetism allowing us to attract circumstances and people that are perfect for our situations.
We continue to “shed skins” in a process that we began at last year’s Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, this one helping us let go of echoes of memories of perceptions by taking a new look at what we used to believe. This was another “gain through loss” Eclipse, so have faith, go deeper, and still your mind so you can receive impressions from higher planes.
It’s helping us intensify our striving in structured ways so we can unveil a mystery we’ve been chasing for quite a while. This helps us get more focused in furthering a new life chapter we began in the Spring. It’s also helping us see a) how we have shifted our magnetism on relationships since then, and/or b) how we need to find a new view or way of understanding the losses and eliminations of the past we’ve been through. Now we’re flowing into a long wave period of finding the right focus to bring forth a higher way to be with other.
This New Moon has an individual, mental, and spiritual focus. Because it happened in Scorpio, Mars rules the Lunation. Due to Mars’ position, the backdrop to the message of the Eclipse put the focus on a more individualized form of practical service and Divine Discernment, expressed in actions that further our sense of how to do what we need to do with humility and effectiveness.
In past Full Moon articles I included a page or more lifted from the articles on the previous New Moon. Since I am trying to shorten the articles for readability, I will no longer lift whole sections from those articles. Instead, please go back to part 1 of this Full Moon series where you will find links to those New Moon articles. They will help you understand the themes for this Full Moon period.
Jones Patterns and Element Balance
The planets fall in a Splay Jones pattern. This indicates a widely distributed planetary spread that shows a diverse but separated set of interests, with an emphasis on individuality putting itself into different situations that may not harmonize easily. So learn to triangulate when caught between conflicting energies that only come together because you are moving through those experiences.
The “Splay” Jones pattern features planets at odd angles widely spread around the signs. The Splay shows widely diverse actions that requires being at “the hub of the wheel” holding the various “spokes of life” in harmonious tension The thing about this particular Lunation is that the planets are spread out among 7 signs, making the emphases less sharp.
With 5 planets in Water, none in Air, 4 in Earth, and 1 in Fire we have an emphasis on feelings and practicality, with little inspiration and no interactivity due to no planets in Air signs. This deficiency in Air shows that thinking, interacting, and socializing must come from within rather than external events.
Since Air and Earth are “cool” elements and Fire and Water are “hot” elements, things may be a bit more emotional over the next two weeks. Just keep in mind that Earth plus Water equals either mud or bricks, depending on how you work with the material.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Is Ramping Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve mentioned off and on over the past 2+ years, we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. I’ve discussed this aspect at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is on a degree of learning techniques of concentration so we can see the whole picture to things. This will help us honor our inner guidance, and know how to “take advantage of all the factors” in any given situation so that we have more assurance in knowing how to make the correct decision in circumstances.
As usual, beware of those who are impatient, since explosiveness is in the air due to this position. As it is retrograde at 9 Aries, we are reviewing lessons that began June 2012, and realizations that synthesize into a bigger picture of our unique part to play will show up as powers beginning January 2014.
As I noted in past Lunation articles, we’re now moving into a different social orientation for many years, so continue to learn how to concentrate to see the whole picture, as this shows us how to externalize our higher Self in new individual ways. It’s been the major theme for 2013, and given the aspects in play in this chart, we are now oving forward productively to stabilize the next chapter in our evolving emotional intelligence.
Pluto is now almost at the end of its time teaching us through the deeper transformations going on in our lives as helping us finish our lessons on harmlessness, kindness, and magnetism that brings forth a more gentle set of interactions. We are learning how we can fully embrace the feeling and experience of that emergent transformational role we accepted 2009-2010, and this continues to help us get focused as we stand on the threshold of new adventures to come. Keep purifying yourself in every way, since the less sludge we carry forward the lighter and freer we’ll feel.
We are still being challenged to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a larger role when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use the square between Uranus and Pluto in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. In this chart, Uranus is specializing many things in everyone’s lives, so go with the new rather than the established.
What's the proper sequence at present of deciding, feeling, and thinking, and an Overview of the Lunation
This Full Moon is practical and adaptive, and marks a point of deeper faith in our individual Self and process as we continue to release elements of our lives that no longer suit our magnetic needs. As a process of moving through events, get a clear picture or understanding, and then decide what has to be done, and then go do it! Think, communicate, understand, and decide what to do.
After doing what you have to do, then go deep within and get clear about what you’re feeling. Once you know what you’re feeling, it will naturally lead to a new understanding or vision, new knowledge that will lead us to the next decision of what needs to be done and how to do it. Then again name your feelings, your experience, so that you can know how you feel as you move into the next view.
So this is a Lunation indicating that we’ll lead with our understanding or vision, which will result in a decision and/or action. Then we need to go deep within and feel the experience of those decisions and actions that arose from those perceptions.
This continues to help us eliminate all we no longer want to carry in our emotional field while anchoring a heart’s desire as we have defined it up to now. Despite the incredible amount of feeling energy during this time of planets moving through Water signs, it’s just an opportunity to practice the emotional intelligence and “feeling-knowing” that has emerged over the past 11 months. Even if this period puts us under pressure to make critical decisions, the flow will lead us exactly where we need to be.
As I’ve noted in previous Full Moon articles, since all shadows result from light hitting a dense object, it’s better to become as translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows. And if you must look at the shadows, then refocus on the object being illuminated, since that’s the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.
