This intensifying, freedom-loving Full Moon at 26 Sagittarius-Gemini will show us that communications are all important as we learn to see clearly. We will definitely reorient in some crucial way, due to seeing the “beautiful essence” in things.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has three other oppositions, two of which are very wide (Venus opposed Jupiter, Jupiter opposed Pluto) and one of which is volatile (Mars opposition Uranus). Still, pay attention to the Jupiter opposition Pluto energies, since it’s part of a major ongoing lesson we’re all learning through April 2014.
We first experienced Jupiter opposition Pluto from July through September, with the exact opposition at 10 Cancer-Capricorn in early August. The 31 January 2014 opposition at 13 Cancer-Capricorn is the second in the set. The third and final opposition will be the most powerful, when we demonstrate how well we’ve learned the lessons of this extreme oppositional energy.
The third opposition will fall exactly at the point of what I have termed “The Great Fracturing” of April 14-24. This span will have several periods that will be extraordinarily difficult due to very tight Grand Cardinal Cross. That opposition will happen at 14 Cancer-Capricorn, when Jupiter is conjunct the Star Sirius, the “Sun of our Sun,” and source of all the Ageless Wisdom Traditions on our planet. You can find out more about Sirius by taking a new look at Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting July, August, September, and October 2013 – Finding Timeless Truths, Fearlessness, and Our Spiritual Source
I wrote a lot about Jupiter opposition Pluto last Summer in the various articles about the Cardinal T-squares and Grand Crosses, so if you want to know more, please visit the archives to get a sense of what this long wave opposition is all about. You can also understand more by revisiting the articles on the Merkaba events of that time.
So this Full Moon features the oppositions from Venus to Jupiter, due to Venus on its station about to retrograde back toward the opposition, and Jupiter to Pluto. This can be a very beneficial set of oppositional energies due to Saturn in Scorpio harmonizing with Venus and Jupiter. Keep it simple, let go of old ideas, find your spontaneity, and focus on practical approaches.
Again, Mars opposed Uranus and square Pluto is a volatile energy. It is often experienced as inharmonious, and this Cardinal T-square both echoes and releases energy related to past cardinal T-squares over the past 3+ years. It will be most challenging to those born the last week of March, June, September, and December, as well as those with planets or angles between approximately 3-13 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The good news is that this T-square can release a lot of pent-up energy, helping break log jams and stuck situations. It is especially good for those who are riding a wave of synthesis, having found elements of their integrity since the last New Moon. As with last month, lessons around these opposition involve taking a new look at opportunities that may not be opportunities, using a scientific approach to figure out how best to proceed in any interaction or activity, and keeping everything open and above board.
We continue to be offered forms of success through keeping our eyes on the prize, not settling for lesser things when greater things are at stake, and always put our best self out there. This is showing us our willingness to stick with thing until we get what we deserve, and Jupiter’s natural caution in Cancer serves us as we learn to navigate the Saturn in Scorpio flow with patience, discipline, and a long range plan.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon is ruled by Mercury, while the Sun is ruled by Jupiter in worldly affairs and Neptune in spiritual matters. This makes the Fire element loom large in how the Moon expresses itself, with an sensitive feeling backdrop to the Sun. As Mercury is just separating quincunx from Jupiter, it indicates we’ve all been through an adjustment period, or perhaps health matters predominated in some way if this quincunx has affected your chart.
In this chart, Mercury in Sagittarius with Sun in Sagittarius makes Jupiter the dispositor for these two. Given Mercury disposes of the Moon, it makes Jupiter one of the primary backdrop energies to both Lights. The other chain of dispositors involves Venus in Capricorn, Saturn in Scorpio, and Mars in Libra, ruled by Venus.
So this chart has one circuit defined by Moon, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter, with another circuit involving Venus, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. As usual, Neptune in Pisces is its own dispositor, though it does have some mutual influence with Jupiter. You can find more about dispositors by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
Due to Saturn being a dispositor of both Venus and Pluto, and Saturn being one of the Water anchors for the Splay configuration at work in this chart, it intensifies the prominence of Scorpio energies. We continue to be put in touch with a deeper reality, or a deeper feeling of connection with others as well as our own emotional depth.
As noted yesterday, we’re in for a few months when the Grand Irrationality is in full play. Later in this article I’ll give you a link that will take you to a recent article that elaborates on the phenomenon, as well as the hot zones that trigger these choices, changes, and events that mark forks in the road of destiny across many areas of our lives.
The tide of Jupiter trine Saturn since last June has offered us all a quickened current that is taking us somewhere. Overall this is a time of quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years. As in June, July, August, and September, we will be experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely during this time of deep feelings and necessary structuring.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 26 Gemini-Sagittarius. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aquarius and Leo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Sagittarius is "A flag bearer.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar ways this is a degree of “Exaltation of physical valor as necessary support to lofty race ideals,” “spectacular effort,” and “endowment beyond realization.”
He goes on to say in The Astrological Mandala that this refers to “the nobly accepted subservience of the individual to collective values and goals.” He states “a flag symbolizes an organized collectivity of human beings, a nation, or even a social class,” and that historically, “whoever carries the flag has to feel (themselves) the representative of the integrity and unity of his group.”
He further tells us this symbol is a promise of becoming “a conscious and responsible agent” for humanity. He finishes with this presenting “a picture of what social consciousness can mean in its highest implications,” since though “the flag bearer is unarmed, defenseless; yet (they) can be the rallying point for the total effort of a large collectivity. This is a symbol of consecration to an ideal.”
So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of a newer, broader dedication to one’s group, or seeing who “carries the flag” in life circumstances you care about. This degree falls in the Span of Detachment, and is the initial degree in the Scene of Transference on the individual-mental level of the Act of Group Integration.
Dr. Marc E Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the enduring significance” which overshadows our “more immediate interests or wholly selfish concerns,” with the emphasis “on the natural supremacy of common ideals over mere individual ambitions.” He says this is “a call to high self-sacrifice,” and “the development of such new dimensions of experience as will permit the self to realize its transcendental aspirations.”
He offers this degree is about “every resource of normal life is commandeered for the greater potentiality.” He offers us the keyword NOBILITY. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “spiritual exaltation through some dramatic or vital service to all.”
So this is a degree of learning to open to a greater dedication or effort by seeing what flag we follow, or what flag we hold aloft in our lives. We can all learn a greater freedom and nobility by seeing ideals we hold with others in common. It certainly seems we can “realize our transcendental aspirations.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Gemini is “Winter frost in the woods.” In the original Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of the “capacity in man to control his environment and the impulses of his most intense nature,” as well as “active care for possessions.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the revelation of archetypal form and essential rhythm of existence.” We are told this deals with “archetypes and pure forms of individual selfhood,” as well as “the characteristic images of the culture.” He says “Externals are left behind. This is a step beyond ‘pruning’; it is rather a process of removal of all superficialities of existence.”
He states that this symbol shows us the way to “the essence of our individual being,” where we can see pure selfhood through a process of essentialization. He says this degree falls in the Span of Restlessness, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Exteriorization on the Individual-Mental level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “the cosmic significance in any momentary cancellation of (our) immediate interests and private concerns,” where Nature’s “needs and powers” have supremacy over our “aspirations and conveniences.” He states this is a “call for a reorientation in (our) individual point of view, and for some further discovery of the self’s potentials.”
He offers “Normal life is brought to a point of sharp suspension so that the larger magic may be manifest.” He gives us the keyword SPLENDOR. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “the creative transformation by which older cycles give way to newer ones.”
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of a dedication to a group ideal or effort to take shape in new forms of beauty and self-expression. Here the Light of Broadened Horizons and Understanding takes form as an ability to focus our efforts in order to achieve mental movement toward a new or renewed potential.
As with the last several Full Moons, important transformations helping us see a deeper Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to a greater empathy and ability to know shared feelings, and continues to educate us in an emotional understanding we’ve experienced since June. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto again occupies the first degree of Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
So enjoy this penultimate period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
Important Chart Factors
Many are finding a new stability or new sense of permanence wherever they have Scorpio in their chart. However, others are being forced to confront various life voids, and learning to “hold the empty space” to get a better sense of the limits and possibilities of their magnetism. As Saturn is fully in the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality, humanity will again confront radical forks in the road of destiny that will be determined by their decisions, actions, and non-actions.
Jupiter at 18 Cancer offers us new approaches to getting what nourishes or sustains us. Be practical and natural as you fulfill your responsibilities. While it’s retrograde until early March 2014, take a new look at your conception of what success might look like, and put yourself out so that others can see and applaud your talents. We’re still in an active process of personality integration through the house that Jupiter is transiting in our charts. As this is a process, we’ll be focused on this through April 2014.
Mars shows that it’s time to put our wisdom to the test, and act in accordance with the archetype we declared we wanted to live in 2010. Take nothing for granted, be skillful in displaying your enthusiasm, get behind inhibiting factors in people and situations, and bring beauty out of wilderness. This shows us how to act with integrity while putting forth a pleasing package. Synthesis is a great strength for those who have individualized and can concentrate on the whole picture.
I touched on the importance of Saturn in the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality in part one of this Full Moon series. Saturn on the recent Mercury stationary point shows us we are on the threshold of knowing things that will alter the course and direction of our lives, and how our minds are able to recognize signs and signals and bring forth messages from the Spiritual realms of Neptune and Pluto. There may be a need to see loss and death in terms of the power it provides us to regenerate, and many will come to a deeper understanding of the permanent spiritual factors in their existence, as well as a deeper courage that will never desert them.
This period when the Scorpio zone of the Grand Irrationality has been and continues to be triggered, shows that everyone will go through important releases of energy, people, and elements that would prevent them from being the spiritual potential they hold in the depths of their Being. This is a threshold, and some people cannot go through it with us, nor can we cross their threshold with them. So let go, let God, and show your stuff with focus and compassion. The experiment nears completion!
Spirit walks with this configuration, as well as any major septile series aspect between the planets. The choices we make as a result of these non-rational aspects show us our “direction of destiny,” and determines if the Spirit will grow stronger and closer with you, or if you will move in directions away from Spirit. Given that most of this community is intentionally trying to live in harmony with Life, Nature, and each other, chances are that whatever you – yes, YOU the reader – are confronting will show you a deeper, richer, more powerful Spiritual life. Which is a good thing.
So Just What Was the New Moon Theme for this Period?
Remember that the qualities of the Full Moon express whatever new directions we were shown at the previous New Moon. You will recall that its theme is related to opening the door to “physical enlightenment,” with much in motion that seems as though controlled by a higher destiny. We can find greater truths, wider horizons of effectiveness, and many rewards as everything plays the part it is supposed to.
This New Moon in Sagittarius marks a point of entrance into an even deeper way of knowing. We will learn about “the wisdom of the body,” and not depend so much on our minds as our feeling-knowing, which by now has been stabilized, and continues to be stabilized. Again, since Sagittarius has such a sharp sense of irony about things, we'll be taking a look at our integrity as well as the integrity of others, seeing who's living their truth and who is not in alignment with what they're stating about their beliefs.
We continue to understand how we’re dealing with our Cancer issues put into play last Summer. Basically, are you caring for yourself and whatever life you embraced back then? Does it align with your purpose and ability to serve your world a better way than in the past?
The Sagittarius seed indicated by this New Moon can help us have a sense of humor or higher truth about the very heavy, deep feelings we’ve all been navigating thanks to the recent transits in Scorpio, including the very powerful Solar Eclipse set into motion last month. We’ve already begun to focus our magnetism on what we want and what we don’t.
Due to the continued importance of both Saturn and North Node in Scorpio, we continue to “shed skins” in a process that we began at last year’s Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. The recent one reinforced this Scorpio focus, helping us let go of echoes of memories of perceptions by taking a new look at what we used to believe. This was another “gain through loss” Eclipse, so have faith, go deeper, and still your mind so you can receive impressions from higher planes.
The Scorpio focus for the past 1+ year is helping us intensify our striving in structured ways so we can unveil a mystery we’ve been chasing for quite a while. This helps us get a broader view of the potential of last Spring’s new initiatives. It’s also helping us see a) how we have shifted our magnetism on relationships since then, and/or b) how we need to find a new view or way of understanding the losses and eliminations of the past we’ve been through. Now we’re flowing into a long wave period of finding the right focus to bring forth a higher way to be with other.
In past Full Moon articles I included a page or more lifted from the articles on the previous New Moon. Since I am trying to shorten the articles for readability, I will no longer lift whole sections from those articles. Instead, please go back to part 1 of this Full Moon series where you will find links to those New Moon articles. They will help you understand the themes for this Full Moon period.
Jones Patterns and Element Balance
The planets fall in a Splay Jones pattern. This indicates a widely distributed planetary spread that shows a diverse but separated set of interests, with an emphasis on individuality putting itself into different situations that may not harmonize easily. So learn to triangulate when caught between conflicting energies that only come together because you are moving through those experiences.
The “Splay” Jones pattern features planets at odd angles widely spread around the signs. The Splay shows widely diverse actions that requires being at “the hub of the wheel” holding the various “spokes of life” in harmonious tension The thing about this particular Lunation is that the planets are spread out among 8 signs, making the emphases less sharp and more spread out.
With 3 planets in Water, 2 in Air, 2 in Earth, and 3 in Fire we have an emphasis on feelings and inspiration, with a balance between practicality and interactivity. At least we finally have a planet in an Air sign after weeks of not! That should help us take the initiative in reaching out to others, and they to us, even though there will be quite a bit of friction as long as Mars is squaring anything in Cancer or Capricorn.
Since Air and Earth are “cool” elements and Fire and Water are “hot” elements, things may be a bit more emotional over the next two weeks. Just stay optimistic as you navigate deep feelings, and keep the focus on practical matters in a balanced way.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Is Ramping Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve mentioned off and on over the past 3+ years, we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. I’ve discussed this aspect at length over quite a few articles in the archives. Use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ll be dealing with this for a few years, and it promises to make this year and next very “electric and eclectic,” moving the world through a revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is on a degree of learning techniques of concentration so we can see the whole picture to things. This will help us honor our inner guidance, and know how to “take advantage of all the factors” in any given situation so that we have more assurance in knowing how to make the correct decision in circumstances. As it goes stationary direct about 8 hours after the Full Moon, we can synthesize these skills into our personality as we move into new realms of self-expression.
As usual, beware of those who are impatient, since explosiveness is in the air due to this square being triggered by Mars. The lessons associated with it going stationary direct at 9 Aries indicates we can synthesize a view of a bigger picture of our unique part to play that will be put into play beginning January 2014.
As I noted in past Lunation articles, we’re now moving into a different social orientation for many years, so continue to learn how to concentrate to see the whole picture, as this shows us how to externalize our higher Self in new individual ways. It’s been the major theme for 2013, and given the aspects in play in this chart, we are now moving forward productively to stabilize the next chapter in our evolving emotional intelligence.
Pluto has now finished its time teaching us harmlessness, kindness, and magnetism that brings forth a more gentle set of interactions through the deeper transformations going on in our lives. This Lunation shows us another way of embracing the feeling and experience of that emergent transformational role we accepted 2009-2010. Keep purifying yourself in every way, since the less sludge we carry forward the lighter and freer we’ll feel.
We have now been guided through deep experiences that taught us how to get beyond fear, see things from the past differently, and find relief through expressing the Higher Self that’s been “cut and polished” in past months. We can grow into a greater power when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use the square between Uranus and Pluto in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. In this chart, Uranus is specializing many things in everyone’s lives, so go with the new rather than the established.
What's the proper sequence at present of deciding, feeling, and thinking, and an Overview of the Lunation
This Full Moon is inspirational and adaptive, and marks a point of radical reorientation and rededication while witnessing the beauty of the essence of things. We continue to find a deeper faith in our individual Self and process as we release elements of our lives that no longer suit our magnetic needs. As a process of moving through events, get a clear picture or understanding, and then decide what has to be done, and then go do it! Think, communicate, understand, and decide what to do.
After doing what you have to do, then go deep within and get clear about what you’re feeling. Once you know what you’re feeling, it will naturally lead to a new understanding or vision, new knowledge that will lead us to the next decision of what needs to be done and how to do it. Then again name your feelings, your experience, so that you can know how you feel as you move into the next view.
So this is a Lunation indicating that we’ll lead with our understanding or vision, which will result in a decision and/or action. Then we need to go deep within and feel the experience of those decisions and actions that arose from those perceptions.
This continues to help us eliminate all we no longer want to carry in our emotional field while helping us synthesize a greater picture based in the integrity we’ve experienced these past two weeks. With Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune in the three Water signs, we are in a time of an incredible amount of feeling energy, and continues to present us opportunities to practice the emotional intelligence and “feeling-knowing” that has emerged over the past 12 months. Even if this period puts us under pressure to make critical decisions, the flow will lead us exactly where we need to be.
While it may feel like there’s a hard edge to circumstances over the next two weeks, these choices have been months in the making. See clearly where your best survival efforts can be directed, accept greater roles and responsibilities, and put your wisdom to the test in positive actions!
Don’t fall prey to appearances, and hear your greatness calling you to a more effective part to play in the world. We have the ability to teach and be taught “true inner knowledge,” and move into a greater potential. Find your “affinity,” and go for the understanding and realizations by which you will know yourself and show your best!!
As I’ve noted in previous Full Moon articles, since all shadows result from light hitting a dense object, it’s better to become as translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows. And if you must look at the shadows, then refocus on the object being illuminated, since that’s the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.

Dear Robert, I find it interesting that the last new moon was10*59' Sag (11* Sag). Now that we're at the "next step" in the progression of degrees, we get the next Sabian Symbol, "A flag that turns into an Eagle that crows." and "The Eagle turning into a Chanticleer that salutes the dawn."
Just prior to this new moon, when those of your country were sitting down to your Thanksgiving dinners, we had a comet which dropped by to say hello before rounding the sun and burning up.
We farewelled a great king of men, Madiba.
Now we have "a flag bearer" at the Galactic Centre.
Wonderful symbols for these interesting times.

quick question, the "galactic center" is around 26' Sag isnt it? so this may be very helpful in "filling the void" with all the good possible through intent?

Intense times: Natal Sun 26 Sag, Ascendant 11 Aries, and 4 other planets and 2 other angles affected by the Grand Irrationality and other septiles now active. (Not to mention that all of my chart relates to itself via my Sun or Ascendant.) Yes, I feel it big time. And I really appreciate the guidance and information.
Thanks again and blessings for all,
Maria
