The coming Full Moon at 27 Pisces-Virgo is distributive, closing, practical, transformative, sensitive, and will show us that we’ve reached a culmination in some important life area, which can help us find a sense of humor or irony at the end of the end. This one gives us yet another look at the transfiguration process, and shows the way to plan anew after withdrawing from others’ projections, as well as our own.
Today’s Full Moon post covers various rising signs around the globe and an overview of the Lunation and some of its primary qualities. In parts 2 and 3 we’ll cover Sabian Symbols, aspects, distributions, and patterns.
This compassionate, unifying, intuitive, and educative Full Moon moving us into a flow that will take us beyond the old life forms falls at the 27th degree of Virgo and Pisces. This Lunation, promising many hard adjustments and sacrifices so we can move into an entirely new way of living, occurs March 16, 2014, 10:08 am PDT, 1:08 pm EDT, and 5:08 pm Greenwich (Mar 17 in Indonesia and points east.)
So What's Happening Where?
Now we take a look at the rising signs around the world. The Lunation finds 30 Taurus rising in Santa Monica, 8 Gemini in Vancouver, 15 Cancer in Toronto, 21 Cancer in Montreal, and 13 Cancer in Washington DC, showing (from west to east) late Taurus through late Cancer as the rising signs across North America.
Continuing east, we find 17 Cancer rising in Rio, 8 Virgo in Lisbon, 17 Virgo in London, 27 Virgo in Berlin, 4 Libra in Sofia, 13 Libra in Johannesburg, and 13 Libra in Moscow. That means the span of Ascendants across the Atlantic to Central Europe and Africa is between mid-Cancer and mid-Libra.
Moving into Asia and Oceana, we find the Ascendants to be 16 Scorpio in Abbottabad, 21 Scorpio in New Delhi, 28 Scorpio in Trivandrum, 1 Capricorn in Jakarta (Mar 17), 26 Sagittarius in Hong Kong, 13 Capricorn in Tokyo, 20 Capricorn in Perth, 17 Aquarius in Melbourne, 20 Aquarius in Brisbane, 12 Pisces in Wellington, and 7 Aries rising on Maui (Mar 16).
So you can construct a rough chart for where you are in the world, I’ll give you the rounded up degree for each planet. Use the Ascendants given above to get a rough sense of what’s on the eastern horizon where you are, and using an Equal House system, you can see what’s going on in your part of the world for the next 2 weeks.
In this Full Moon with the Sun at 27 Pisces and the Moon at 27 Virgo, Mercury is 29 Aquarius (the same degree as the February Full Moon!), Venus is 10 Aquarius, Mars is 27 Libra retrograde (the same degree as the February Full Moon!), Jupiter is 11 Cancer, Saturn is 24 Scorpio (SRX degree!), Uranus is 12 Aries, Neptune is 6 Pisces, Pluto is 14 Capricorn (where it will go SRX in April), TransPluto is 1 Virgo retrograde, Chiron is 15 Pisces, and the NN is 29 Libra.
Because the New Moon preceding the Full Moon always represents the seed forms that are brought to surface at and after the Full Moon, please check out the recent New Moon articles The New Moon in Pisces Pt. 1 – What’s Happening in March 2014 and The March New Moon in Pisces Pt. 2 - Signs, Sabian Symbols, and What It All Means.
Those around the world who will definitely feel effects of this Full Moon are the places where it falls near the angles of the chart. Places on our list where the Lunation is near the angles and activating energies powerfully are (Sun/Moon): Toronto, Montreal, and Washington DC (MC/IC), Lisbon, London, Berlin, and Sofia (Dsc/Asc), Jakarta and Hong Kong (IC/MC), and Wellington and Maui (Asc/Dsc).
An Overview
An overview of this period ruled by this Full Moon shows it will illuminate how powers are released at the end of cycles, where many things come to a culmination and require some adjustments and refinement in order to complete a transfiguration process we began at the Full Moon last month. We should be able to find the humor in things as we learn how to take command of circumstances, and this will lead us to sacrifices so we can expand in the future.
This will put the focus on individual, mental, and spiritual energy in some form that will be perpetuated in the future, even as many will continue to experience strange returns that challenge them to incorporate inspiring teachings into their everyday lives. This is the last look at a mystery we’ve been chasing for 7 months.
This Lunation shows a mixed bag of aspects. Other than the usual heavy T-square formed by Jupiter square Uranus and Uranus square Pluto, there are three heavy quincunxes and a close semi-square from Venus to the Sun. The quincunxes are Moon to Mercury, Venus to Jupiter, and Sun to Mars. These indicated that wherever they fall in our charts, something’s got to give! All of these show adjustments, and since all the personality planets are involved, you can bet that you’ll have to make these shifts that will help you get back on track in multiple ways.
Because the Cardinal T-square formed by Jupiter opposition Pluto with both square Uranus will be active for the next 8 weeks, we continue to learn how to keep our equilibrium, equipoise, and sense of perspective. These very frictional energies in the collective atmosphere that are associated with the wide-spread tension and revolutionary conditions are now building toward the Great Fracturing of late April 2014. I will of course write more about that over the next few weeks.
Now that Saturn is again forming its biseptile to Neptune while moving away from its septile to Pluto, the Grand Irrationality is still is full sway, since any time the Moon or any other planet moves through any of the 7 hot zones activating this configuration, it gets triggered! So it’s again front and center as a theme for this Full Moon, and will continue to be activated every few days.
This continues a very intense period where Saturn is anchoring a third point in the Grand Irrationality, indicating destiny has been and continues to be on the move for the entire world related to Scorpio themes. A quick look at our world makes it easy to see these themes. I’ll give you the zones of the Grand Irrationality in the next section.
The Grand Irrationality, along with the other non-rational configurations that happen off and on, indicate that while we live in a time of very heavy decisions determining the future destiny of humanity, we also are at a turning point about how our light and life are or are not conforming to the challenges to individualize that Uranus has awakened since June 2012.
The focus of the light shows a way for us to be educated in some cultural form, or we may be called to help others to refine their individual or spiritual expression in a cultural set up. We are challenged to find an appropriate practical form to express that which may seem inexpressible, and are challenged to find some element of our individuality or spiritual life that allows us to express our motives beyond what’s ending or beginning.
Is the Grand Irrationality A Factor in this Full Moon?
As I just noted, The Grand Irrationality is definitely triggered in this Lunation by Saturn biseptile Neptune. I wrote extensively about this long term configuration in Astrology in November-December 2013 - The Grand Irrationality Affecting Everyone and Astrology in late November and Early December 2013 – In the Heart of the Grand Irrationality. When you’re done here, please check out those articles to find the current seven “hot zone” spans, and I’ll update the information sometime soon.
As I’ve noted previously, Neptune is very close to an exact septile with Pluto in this chart, and will be a factor in all celestial events at this time of the year. However, they have now begin to pull apart from the exact aspect, and in a few weeks will again be too wide an orb to be in septile, which is the main aspect anchoring the Grand Irrationality. Right now Neptune is 52 degrees and 28 minutes away from Pluto, but by the end of May they’ll be 54d 30m apart, which is a little too wide for the septile.
As I explained in a recent article, that just means that in the Autumn and Winter (in the Northern Hemisphere) they are now operating as a simultaneous “pulse,” since they’re both aspected near the same time. But in the Spring and Summer we’ll experience it as a rolling influence, with first Pluto aspected, and then Neptune at some time after that, depending on which planet is doing the aspect to these planets.
Important Factors
As I said, this Lunation brings us a mixed bag of aspects. On the harmonious side, we have only Venus sextile Uranus, which is productive, but only in terms of pulling back from projections we’ve put on others, and others have put on us. We should have a good time planning anew, even though there’s not a huge favorable tide due to a lack of harmonious aspects.
In the friction department, besides the huge T-square, we have the three quincunxes mentioned above. These show forced “hard adjustments,” where something must be sacrificed so that progress can be made in other areas.
Moon quincunx Mercury shows adjustments between the feelings and the mind, between the habits and how we coordinate our lives. Using imagination to reclaim an opportunity thought to be lost, facing facts, and listening to hear our place in the larger scheme of things are favored, as are rising to some occasion that takes us out of our comfort zone and taking an alternative look at the past, weighing and judging different possibilities related to the threshold of a new life that’s just around the corner.
Venus quincunx Jupiter shows adjustments between our values and our vision, our resources and how we can embrace a new adventure. Getting beyond familiar interpretations, combining imagination and the ability to engineer a vision, and unveiling what we need to, are all favored, as are pushing our growth a little, being more ambitious, trusting when our bodies are telling us something important, and launching a new life, whether others approve or understand or not.
Sun quincunx Mars shows adjustments between our life and our energies, where methods must be adjusted based in what’s actually going on and what needs to end. Finding ways to offer wisdom to others in peaceful ways, along with seeing the new work to be done at the dawning of this new day in our lives, are most favored.
Following the oppositions, squares, semi-squares, and sesquisquares of the past Full Moon, this indicates the follow-up adjustments and sacrifices we have to make to prepare for the coming Great Fracturing. Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are still putting major pressure on those who have planets or angles between 10-15 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, and 25-30 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. If you have something in those zones, then you can bet you’ll see some breakthrough action over the next two weeks.
As usual with Mars in Libra, don’t let things spin out of proportion. The Cardinal T-square requires that we be very balanced in extreme situations or when with extreme people. This is a time to find a higher way beyond the oscillations of the mind and feelings. During the next two weeks we can begin to practice a unified vision and expression that will be perfected between now and mid-July.
We will experience a Mars response or lesson based on what we learned from Saturn, some discipline or duty or responsibility, in December 2011, April 2012, and/or August-September 2012. Something related to then could become an irritant, or require action, or recalibration. Be moderate in all responses, be balanced when it’s time to repair or reconstruct something, and follow through on using what Saturn taught you in 2012 to concentrate on what matters now. This one quickens us, but in a strangely frictional way.
We all began to learn how to overcome fear in the Spring of 2012, and then entered an unknown space time sector where we began to learn to view much of what goes on at core through a sense of life being a “science experiment,” with our task to understand the laws that underlie what’s going on. We’re now able to use that knowledge to get a new perspective on what has affected us in the past, and can let go of nonessentials as we claim the enduring patterns and symbols of “the movie of our life.”
I’ll write more about these things in parts 2 and 3. The next two weeks will bring lessons in kindness, imagination, and leading a more natural life, even as we intensify our striving for that which can bring knowledge and light into our lives. This is the last preparation before the dawning of a new era in our lives. Opportunity will be all around, as will the need to not get aggravated or irritated by the way things are or are not developing as fast as we’d like.
Even though they are still far apart from the trines they made last July and December, Jupiter and Saturn both in Water signs continue to help us stabilize and understand the emotional intelligence we’ve been developing since June 2013. In recent months, we’ve glimpsed our “indestructibility,” and can now use that as a foundation to use our recent and current “peak experiences” to transform our lives now that Saturn is retrograde. So really, we’ve all established our personal form of “emotional intelligence,” and are preparing for a greater field of effective practice.
Related to this, since Jupiter is now direct in Cancer, we are about to make a “last pass” over the span it’s occupied since last August. This gives us a new chance to apply the emotional intelligence we built last June, July, and August. The coming weeks will help us get new understanding about what we consider to be true about those new cares, new feelings, and a new sense of stability we’ve embraced since then. Now that it’s gone direct, soon it will begin to form its final trine to Saturn. This will stabilize whatever “feeling-knowing” we’ve been cultivating since last Summer.
Jupiter has been in Cancer for all Lunations since last July. That shows we’re in a one year period where family and personal feelings will continue to run strong, so be clear about what you’re feeling that feeds you, or nurtures your growth in some personal way. We’ve all gone deeper into how we experience everything, and the past 4 months we’ve been given a new look at how we measure success, and figuring out how to “put on the show” and receive what we need from our audience.
Is the Sun Following the Moon, or the Moon Following the Sun?
This is the eighth Full Moon where the Sun falls in the same sign to the Sun at the previous New Moon. We’re now back to the “normal” pattern we last experienced between September 2010 and June 2012. We’re now done with the “reversed pattern” we dealt with between June 2012 and August 2013, where the Full Moon Sun was in a different sign than the previous New Moon.
As I've explained in previous Full Moon articles,
... the Full Moon being in a subsequent sign than the previous New Moon indicates that what is released as realizations in the Full Moon period actually "prepares the ground" for the coming New Moon seed. Strange reversal of function, since you would think the New Moon provides the seed for the next Full Moon. But this set of Lunations works the opposite way....Another way to look at this is the Sun sign of the Full Moon is the same as and precedes the Sun sign of the next New Moon, reversing the usual way Lunations work. So the fulfillment of the Full Moon sets up the next "seed" to be revealed at the next New Moon....
So Sept 2010 through May 2012 we had the New Moon Sun in the same sign as the subsequent Full Moon Sun every month. This shifted in June 2012, when we had a New Moon at 1 Gemini in late May, a Full Moon at 15 Gemini-Sag in early June, and another New Moon at 29 Gemini in late June. That began the sequence of the New Moon Sun at the end of one sign, with the following Full Moon Sun in the next sign.
So June 2012 began the reversed experience from the “normal” New Moon-Full Moon cycle. We had an illuminated form shown to us at the Full Moon, followed by the Sun being in the same sign as the previous Full Moon. This is fulfillment followed by similar Solar seeds of potential while reversing the natural process.
That ended in August 2013, and we’re again in a sequence where the Full Moon Sun is the same sign as the previous New Moon Sun. To illustrate, the January 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Capricorn, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Aquarius. The February 10, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Aquarius, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 8 Pisces.
Continuing through the Spring, the March 11, 2013 New Moon Sun was at 22 Pisces, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 7 Aries. The April 10 New Moon Sun was at 21 Aries, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 6 Taurus. The May 9 New Moon Solar Eclipse was at 20 Taurus, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 5 Gemini. The June 8 New Moon was at 19 Gemini, while the next Full Moon Sun was at 3 Cancer.
This “reversed Sun sign” phenomenon has now ended. In August we had a New Moon Sun at 15 Leo on August 6-7, and then the Full Moon Sun at 29 Leo. In September we had a New Moon Sun at 14 Virgo, and then we had a Full Moon Sun at 27 Virgo. In October we had a New Moon Sun at 12 Libra, and then a Full Moon Sun at 26 Libra.
In November, we had a New Moon Solar Eclipse Sun at 12 Scorpio, and then a Full Moon Sun at 26 Scorpio. In December, we had a New Moon at 11 Sagittarius, and then a Full Moon at 26 Sagittarius. In January 2014, we had a New Moon at 11 Capricorn, and a Full Moon Sun at 26 Capricorn.
The New Moon of late January had the Sun at 11 Aquarius, while the Full Moon Sun was at 27 Aquarius. The most recent New Moon in late February/early March had the Sun at 11 Pisces, while this Full Moon Sun is at 27 Pisces. So we continue the “natural” order of Lunation Suns, offering us seeds shown in the first half, fulfillment in the second half.
In parts two and three, we will explore the Sabian Symbols, aspects, and other important chart factors.

Nicely noticed: "The quincunxes are Moon to Mercury, Venus to Jupiter, and Sun to Mars. - All of these show adjustments, and since all the personality planets are involved, you can bet that you’ll have to make these shifts that will help you get back on track in multiple ways."
It is long since I visited this site. But this was something (valuable!) I didn't noticed at all while watching the full moon. I was Very Tired between Thursday and Saturday. And, Yes I had to set meetings to the minimum. Cleaning closets and take the naps....
I wish all the better changes. And hope to keep mind relax.

There is so much going on in my chart with this full moon and continually onwards till the Grand Cross, that I hadnt even noticed those 3 quincunx... the venus/jupiter I sense how to make the stress work positively, Venus is on my POF in 4th while Jupiter currently in my 9th is on my progressed venus in 8th house so well within areas natural to me and worked hard on, including ethics, so hopefully serving others well.
Its the moon quincunx mercury that is troubling, as Mercury is in my 4th house conjunct my south node while the full moon in 11th is semi sextile my ascendant, not sure how that will play out, possibly very good potential, perhaps an end to being without a place/home, I just am feeling it very strongly and emotionally (which full moons always are for me so that's saying something!)
Will endeavor to keep my hopes high :)

Hi Robert, Thank you so much for your continued sharing of your wisdom. Still a novice. I wish I had more time to spend on learning. I'm a Feb. 27 (1952) born Pisces and all I know is it is time for this black cloud to go away. Still recovering from my 3rd back surgery, and wondering if this Spring, I can expect any new possibilities for love and happiness coming my way. Thanks again for all you do. Bev

Have to admit your naming of the April Grand Cross as the "Great Fracturing" gave me a good laugh. My left leg is still healing from a fracture of the tibia, and for some reason the "Great Fracturing" tickled my funny bone. Thanks much.
With the April Grand Cross hitting the angles of my natal chart, the March 30 New Moon nestled in arc minutes conjunction to my natal Sun, much of what I have left at this point is laughter. >~_-<
Happy Spring, everyone.

Well, this was a surprise. I thought I was looking for a balance but it's more a combining or coming together. Grounded in spirit. I never woulda thunk it. So much for thinking.
Well then, that's settled. Spirit, no way to parse that.
