Astrology Now, April 2014 – The Heart of the T-Square As We Are Jolted To the Great Fracturing

It’s been a truly fabulous Solar Return/birthday time so far! I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of people literally from every part of the world wishing me all kinds of good things, and so a heart-felt thanks to the entire community goes out to all! Really, thanks for being here. I guess yesterday was a good example of how a Sun square Jupiter can yield a very good thing. And now the Sun conjuncts Uranus…..

Yes, this is the heart of the first of four gigantic T-Square/Grand Cardinal Cross configurations to occur over the next 7 weeks. We now have Sun conjunct dynamic and revolutionary Uranus, powering up the Sun-Uranus cycle of individualization for the next year. The first Sun conjunct Uranus in Aries happened at the Vernal Equinox of 2011 at 1 Aries, and the orb was a bit wide for it to square Pluto.

In 2012 the Sun was conjunct Uranus at 5 Aries, and in 2013 at 9 Aries. It is now conjunct Uranus at 13 Aries, powering up, vitalizing and illuminating the point where Uranus went stationary retrograde July 2013. This relates to the new identity that has been stirred up in each of us since then. It’s also why there has seemed to be a tremendous amount of agitated impatience.

A lot is released by squares. The Sun squared Jupiter yesterday, and will square Pluto tomorrow. Since the Sun can only illuminate and is the source of Light/Life on Earth, it can do no wrong. Nothing squared by the Sun can yield a darkness except that which must go dark, since the Sun “calls the tune” in our Solar System. It is our Star – we MUST strive to learn what it illuminates in our lives and universe.

Squares put on the brakes, help us turn corners at life intersections, or throw something in our way that seems to be at cross-purposes to where we’re going. According to Marc Jones, a Sun square Jupiter gives us the chance to take a look at how we can better serve, both ourselves and our Truth, while learning how to keep the momentum and initiative in our own hands. This would seem to lead us to a new form of self-expression in a blend of Sun and Jupiter energies.

When the Sun squares Jupiter, we are given a great chance to examine how our Jupiter is functioning within the parameters of what a transit to transit means. We all are now given the chance to see Jupiter from a different angle, and either a) demonstrate positive Jupiter qualities of the nature of 12 Cancer, or b) put the brakes on something and change course because of learning something (Jupiter) about the Mystery that 12 Cancer is showing us.

And of course, this conjunction constitutes somewhat of a midpoint to what’s coming when the Sun squares Pluto at 14 Aries. This one can give us the Light of self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-sufficiency in some inner our outer realm despite the chaotic outer conditions, since those are all Solar qualities. Marc Jones offered that by using deep insights and strength of self-discipline we could become a pioneer in our lives in a way that moves us deeper into the Light.

All of this throws the void into 12, 13, and 14 Libra. Of course this zone is stimulated 4 times a day by the angles as they move through 12-14 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. That’s why I have been saying we’re in the middle of one long series of Grand Cardinal Crosses. And while it will lead directly to the Great Fracturing of April 13-24 (particularly 19-24), we will still feel “aftershocks” for quite a while, since they’ll still be in orb for a few weeks after.

To take a look at the news globally is to see massive instability and fracturing of old assumptions and ways of life. While it’s been going on for a while (the T-squares and Crosses have been a major influence on us all since late December), this begins the whitewater ride through some very conflicted energy.

The destruction that comes will help us see what can no longer be held together, for whatever reasons. It may be a material fracturing, it may be an emotional fracturing, it may be the fracturing of an old idea, understanding, or view. This is a time when something has to give so that other forms may take their place.

As I have noted in other posts, our friend the I Ching has stated that sometimes “one is enriched through unfortunate events.” These are times when if we act according to what our Higher Self tells us, we can often find ourselves in positions that are perfect for both our skills and our ability to grow into different ways to use those skills. And for the chefs out there, this time is one where “we must break a few eggs to make an omelette.”

So ride the waves while demonstrating good second decan Libra skills. These would include balanced synthesis of understanding, seeing where re-proportioning is needed within a larger vision or work, and being impersonal as we re-work, re-do, or refine what has been done in the past.

12 Libra is about either going deeper into that which can bring warmth and light to our lives, or coming up out of the “underground” into the Light. This is a degree of a newer or deeper dedication or the need to depressurize and lead a more natural life.

13 Libra is about using creative imagination to play with others and dream a more beautiful or fun dream. We are told it is a degree of relaxation, as well as “healthy stimulation through play and joy of human intercourse.”

14 Libra is about adjusting to the natural course of things, or taking time to rest, relax, and recharge our batteries. Here we find “faith in the ordered scheme of things,” and see where we do not or did not need to be dependent on someone or some situation in our past or present.

14 Libra is of some notable importance, since that’s the exact degree Mars will occupy when it exactly squares Jupiter at 14 Cancer on the star Sirius, squares Pluto at 14 Capricorn, and opposes Uranus at 14 Aries. That will be an extraordinary configuration, and constitutes what we can expect to experience in the way of a “Great Fracturing.”

Dear Robert as always a big thank you for helping us to make sense of planetary movements. 14 cardinal is very active in my chart. my nodal axis stands across 14 libra and aries. NN at 14 aries squared by natal venus at 14 cancer. I dont know how this will manifest in my life.

Oh, things have fractured alright. Only thing is, I'm open-hearted and generous and seem to be deeply rooted, so capable of bending very adeptly to the changes at this time. Such a joy and relief. For those who are experiencing challenges, I can honestly say that having a caring therapist to lean on has been immensely helpful for me.

Hi Lee - 12 Cancer is near the Star Sirius, the Sun of our Sun, in the Scorpio decan of Cancer, and ruled by Mercury in the old decan system. It is the second degree (counterpoint) of the five steps in the 11-15 Cancer individual mental level of Decision. We are told it's a degree of illumination, and searching for a Mystery. It is a degree that promises that God/Truth can take birth in our Personality courtesy of our Soul.

Dr. Jones says this degree helps us achieve our greater personal opportunities by including wide racial capabilities in our individual complex of talents and skills. "Life gains significance to the extent that each person embraces the totality of (our) kind in (our) own everyday makeup," and "embody universal values in (our) everyday consciousness." He gives the keyword "Materialization," and says when positive, it's "a gift for bringing the more Godlike resources or superior powers of self to a point of real community service, and when negative, completely unreasonable demands for recognition." The formula is Sustaining, critical, universal, specializing, spiritual, and sensitive.

And in an interesting correlation, I was thinking over the past 10 days during a major fracturing of a relationship in my life that my 28 years of therapy between 1969-1997 gave me the insights and clarity to know exactly how to act, how not to act, what not to take personally, and how to view the dynamics at play. While therapy doesn't solve our problems, it helps us get clear about their causes and possibilities of response so that at some point they are not our problems any more. And when we combine more than one type of therapy with more than one type of spiritual practice the positive effects are 10 fold what any one of these can bring.

Hi aisha - You will be the best judge of how this fracturing is manifesting in your life. It may be through a friend, relative, neighbor, someone at work, or it may directly involve something fragmenting in your life so that something new can be born in that area. Take a look around and see what's happening. Then you'll know how it's manifesting in your life. We each have our own ticket to ride, and each experiences the ride in our own way.

Remember the Nodes are about your line of development, and Jupiter on your Venus should be nice, even if you're shedding toxic, corrosive, or dishonest relationships during this time of Pluto opposed Venus. Uranus conj NN in Aries square Venus = freedom! If you're not free to be yourself, or if someone is preventing you from getting concrete results or getting you lost in deflections and loose ends, then it's time to change the dynamic.

It seems my unskillful friend is making unreasonable demands while I am finding a generosity that transcends anger and shows me how to open my heart even to poorly or totally unarticulated needs. I feel so strong to be able to do this! And yet without my therapist I don't think I would have known I could do it at all. He encouraged me to open and share kindness, saying I would feel better for transcending the narrow limits of my ego. He is right.

Thankyou Robert. My cancer moon at 13.47 degrees in first house is directly in the line of fire. I have had an emotional week after having to put my beloved dog to sleep. It was all very sudden. I am hopeful that because my moons forms part of a grand water trine with jupiter and pisces sun that only immensely positive news will now come.

Robert, my Natal Pluto is at 17 degrees Libra in my 5th house sitting right in the middle of all of this - what does this mean?

(Uranus is in my 11th, Pluto is on the cusp of my 7th/8th, Jupiter is on the cusp of my 1st/2nd and Mars is back tracking in my 5th.)
