On this day in 1947, Jackie Robinson (January 31, 1919 – October 24, 1972) took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers and desegregated baseball forever. Thanks for breaking the ice so that America could begin to get over the virus of racism. Thanks for the grit, Jackie. You were one of a kind.
Today is April 30, 2014. I have been enjoying watching "42," a story about Jackie Robinson. I recommend this film.
