This initiating, idealistic, action-oriented Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon showing us a new view of past crises overcome that have led us to a threshold of “entering the sanctuary” falls at the 26th degree of Libra and Aries. This is the power of focused potential expressed in a form of spiritual “repair work” that will show quick results that should bring a sense of relief, where we trust deep feelings to show us where and how to flow. These two weeks we take the compassion we’ve been learning since the New Moon and see how to follow its promptings to an experience of delight.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has a host of other powerful oppositions, including Mercury opposed Mars, Mars opposed Uranus, and the very close forming Jupiter opposed Pluto.
Taken together, be clear, balanced, and practical in your approach to interactions and ways to resolve things that are swinging wild. Moderation, careful planning, and slowing some things down to prepare to renew our initiative in the future are most important. And of course, Jupiter opposed Pluto requires us not taking opportunities against our best interests, and keeping everything open and above board when it comes to our vision of what’s possible and desirable for us at this time.
We first experienced Jupiter opposition Pluto from July through September, with the exact opposition at 10 Cancer-Capricorn in early August. The 31 January 2014 opposition at 13 Cancer-Capricorn was the second in the set. This third and final opposition will be the most powerful, when we demonstrate how well we’ve learned the lessons of this extreme polarized energy.
The third opposition will fall exactly at the point of what I have termed “The Great Fracturing” of April 14-24. This span will have several periods that will be extraordinarily difficult due to very tight Grand Cardinal Cross. That opposition will happen at 14 Cancer-Capricorn, when Jupiter is conjunct the Star Sirius, the “Sun of our Sun,” and source of all the Ageless Wisdom Traditions on our planet. You can find out more about Sirius by taking a new look at Mercury Stationary Direct Affecting July, August, September, and October 2013 – Finding Timeless Truths, Fearlessness, and Our Spiritual Source
I wrote a lot about Jupiter opposition Pluto last Summer in the various articles about the Cardinal T-squares and Grand Crosses, so if you want to know more, please visit the archives to get a sense of what this long wave opposition is all about. You can also understand more by revisiting the articles on the Merkaba events of that time.
A brief reminder about the fracturing that’s been happening and continues to build through late April: please remember the wisdom of our old friend the I Ching when it states that sometimes “one is enriched through unfortunate events.” Even though this has been and continues to impact everyone in some very heavy ways, it will benefit many by what is cracked open. When our old “shell of personality” is cracked open, it allows us to grow. When an old way of life is cracked open, we are free to live a different way.
Jupiter takes on an added importance in this Lunation, since it is the “handle” or “focal determinator” of the Bucket Jones pattern, and the Moon makes a biseptile to Jupiter. indicating a critical “fork in the road of destiny” relative to the Moon and Jupiter, which houses they’re transiting in our chart, and which houses they rule. I discuss more about this in part 4. And of course, Jupiter is harmonized by the Venus trine, creating a very beneficial opposition-sextile-trine configuration that should move a lot of things forward in orderly (if sometimes subtle and/or peculiar) ways.
Given Jupiter’s influence, we’ve been learning how to view what’s happening with a sense of humor, irony, or larger abundant take on things. This one requires strength of character as well as some measure of flexibility. With the Moon in Libra, it’ll be great for learning how to alternate between will and love, mind and heart, when it comes to what we and other are feeling. And yes, we’re still refining our sense of perspective, rhythm, and proportion in our responses to life.
Due to the presence of Pluto in the T-square, the energies are volatile, may be experienced as inharmonious, and both echoes and releases energy related to past cardinal T-squares over the past 3+ years. As I’ve told you before, this period is most affecting those born the first week of April, July, October, and January, as well as those with planets or angles between approximately 10-15 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The good news is that this T-square can release a lot of pent-up energy, helping break log jams and stuck situations. It is especially good for those who are riding a wave of new life rhythms, having found a new experience of Divine grace over the past 10 weeks influenced by the past three New Moons.
As noted earlier, lessons associated with the Jupiter opposition Pluto involve taking a new look at apparent opportunities that may not be all they’re cracked up to be, or may involve things we weren’t informed about. Due to Pluto’s influence, we continue to be challenged by forces beyond our control to find a different perspective on past experiences, and let go of nonessentials and/or look back on old dramas to see how we repaired ourselves when we let go. However, since Jupiter again trines Saturn, Jupiter’s natural caution in Cancer serves us as we learn to navigate the Saturn in Scorpio flow with patience, discipline, and a long range plan.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon in Libra is ruled by Venus in worldly affairs and TransPluto in spiritual matters, while the Sun is ruled by Mars in worldly affairs and Pluto in spiritual matters. This makes the Water and Fire elements loom large in how the Moon expresses itself, while the Air and Earth elements are strong as backdrops to the Sun.
In this chart, in worldly affairs all of the planets are ruled by the chain of dispositors involving Venus in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer, and the Moon in Libra, ruled by Venus. Even though separating, Venus is conjunct Neptune in Pisces, which is its own dispositor. That makes Neptune a stronger force than usual when it comes to chart dispositors. So in this chart, Neptune in Pisces has a strong dispositor influences along with Jupiter. You can find more about dispositors by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The tide of Jupiter trine Saturn during the last half of 2013 offered us all a quickened current that is taking us somewhere. Overall this has been a time of quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years. We have been experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely since last Summer, and found deep feelings and necessary structuring. As Jupiter is now direct and Saturn retrograde, we are moving into the third period of Water trines that will stabilize whatever emotional intelligence we’ve developed these past 10 months.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 26 Libra-Aries. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Gemini and Sagittarius.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Aries is “A man possessed of more gifts than he can hold.” In the original Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Supreme endowment, and inexhaustibility of resources in all possible life realms,” and “Sometimes obsession by potentiality.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes the mind confronting “a totally unfamiliar and as yet unexperienced type of potency,“ where we may go through a difficult time adjusting to new perceptions and possibilities. He states we should not “rush ahead excitedly and lose (our) bearings,” and we need to get calm and mindful so we can move within the natural limitations of the “new order.”
He says this symbol shows we have to move carefully in some new realm, and not undertake more than is “as yet safe and sound to attempt.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Examination, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Potency on the Individual-Mental level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “exceptional personal endowment” in terms of “social capacity” and how each of us may be of potential value to others, in terms of “spread of interest” and what we attempt. He says that restlessness, a lack of control, or “exaggerated self-confidence” may create frustration or even self-betrayal, but “there is also a prodigality of ambition and effort which can lead to a very genuine self-fulfillment.”
He offers us the keyword EQUIPMENT. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is an uncompromising independence and an inexhaustible drive toward self-discovery.”
So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of inexhaustible resources and potential we have been endowed with, but we are also cautioned that there are natural limits we need to observe. Here we focus potency in a way suited to our individuality, and can independently take the initiative to discover and act on ever-greater possibilities.
The Lunar degree symbol for the 26th degree of Libra is “An eagle and a large white dove turning one into another.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar ways this is a degree of “Necessary cooperation between mind, will, spirit – and heart, love.” Also “Power of psychological balance and compensation,” and “Unity.”
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "the interaction of the spiritual Will and of the Love principle when crucial needs arise.” He says this is what seekers for “a higher life of Relationship” must master, where a Yang-Yin interplay is at work, rotating and changing one into another.
He states that “consciousness operates beyond duality, because the polarized energies of the Soul, (or spirit), Will and Love, though ever distinct, work for a single purpose.” He goes on to offer that this “represents a new, higher approach to the use of polarized forces within the personality,” with the keyword “Adeptness.”
So the focus of the illumination available via this Full Moon is through various forms of oscillating energies we’re learning to master with an eye to a higher way of being in relationships, whether with others or potentially the self to the Self. He states this degree falls in the Span of Revelation, Act of Group-Integration, Scene of Reconstruction on the Individual-Mental level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “exceptional personal endowment” where we can meet life with creativity and a sense of purpose. He goes on to say that we are responsible for ”the general state of affairs” in our immediate reality, with the risk we will be frustrated when we cannot shape things according to our ideal.”
He says “Man is the master of his fate to the extent his action is in his own true interest,” and offers the keyword ADEPTNESS. He states that when operating positively, the degree is “unusually effective self-discipline.”
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of an independent drive toward new initiatives helping us to a greater potential in action, thought, and feeling to take shape in an alternating Will-Love, Mind-Heart way of relating to our existence and those in our social matrix. Here the Light of a realization of something we’re endowed with that we can use to further our interests and share with others helps us find forms of ideal relationships helping us reconstruct or repair something valuable in how we feel and experience our Spiritual mind and individuality.
As with the last several Full Moons, important transformations helping us move into a deeper living Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to a greater empathy and ability to know shared feelings, and continues to educate us in an emotional understanding and intelligence we’ve been cultivating since last June. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto occupies the first degree of Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
So enjoy this penultimate period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July, 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
As the Lunation articles have grown to impossible lengths, I’m again trying to find ways to trim them and reposition some of the material to make it easier to digest. So this closes part 3 on this Full Moon. Part 4 will cover important chart factors, New Moon themes, Jones Patterns and more, so I’ll see you soon!

serendipity or a "fortunate accident" comes to mind through what has been confronting and the experience of it, so looking for good or silver lining of "fated" occurences, not always easy, worth it though, or at least that is what I am finding.

Thank you for your work.
You say – penultimate para – ...'TransPluto in Virgo era ... when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the last time' ...
Wondered how we know TransPluto will enter Libra for the last time?

Hi debbie - Yes, that's definitely in the air. Despite the fracturing, there is some amazing "co-incidental" things happening!
Hi Moira - Well, more accurately, I should have said "re-enters Libra for the last time" until 2759, when it will again enter Libra. I believe the Earth will still be finishing its chemical/mineral incarnation then, with a few thousand more years of physical existence to go. But you can understanding why I might not be concerned right now about what's coming 750 years down the road, even if some of us will be back in a body doing new work in the new Era....

Thanks Robert. Waiting for the next post and pondering on Serendipity. It seems to be ever more present.

Thank you for walking this fracturing together.
If I have survived almost of death, marital divorce, end of loves (few) and unemployment (not anymore), my personality definitely is cracked open. This is also difficult when not knowing where to continue (I feel it as mars retrograde)...
Still on full moon I made (not professional) video of "me playing piano and Bach" video to my friends. It somehow was only outburst of extra energy...
Wait for next days and longer, if my mind is still uncertain for a while.
