We’re at another juncture of the dance Mercury does with the Sun as it moves from retrograde to direct to retrograde to direct. While the Inferior Conjunction of Mercury with the Sun is important, so is the Superior Conjunction.
This Superior Conjunction occurs 8:27 pm PDT April 25, 4:27 am BST April 26, at 6 Taurus. Just as the Inferior Conjunction during Mercury retrograde marks a point of fusion of Life (the Sun) and Mind (Mercury) but with mind turned backward or inward, the Superior Conjunction of Mercury direct also marks a fusion of Life and Mind, but with Mind moving much faster than Life, ready to become a herald for all the Sun will illuminate between now and the next Mercury retrograde period to come in June.
You can find out more about this important dance between Mercury and the Sun in the article Astrology Class February 2014 – It’s Mercury Retrograde! How are the Inferior and Superior Conjunctions of Mercury With the Sun Different? And of course, just as that Inferior Conjunction has been a theme since it happened in February, so this Superior Conjunction will be a theme in the weeks to come.
This conjunction falls at 6 Taurus, a degree of cooperative bridge building to make something substantial or real. It is said to be a degree of using knowledge and skill to create something so that we can cross a “chasm” of some sort that is a natural part of the landscape of our evolution. Obviously it puts the spotlight on the house affairs where we have 6 Taurus, and will prove beneficial to all who have planets or angles in early Earth or Water signs.
Here we solve problems through applied intelligence, and find “bridging mechanisms” to assist self and others to move forward in a life area where we cannot go back, since this degree follows "the widow at the open grave," indicating we've all had to say goodbye to something recently. Through what we build we will see our “essential independence” from any natural “accidents or inconveniences.”
The challenge is to transform physical limitations “into personal or social assets,” and thereby make things more consistent and dependable. By how we apply ourselves, we shall see our powers and find benefits from their use.
Given this conjunction falls sextile Neptune on the degree it will go stationary retrograde in a few weeks, there should be productive movement within the collective, with many things intuitively known in their simple worth or structure. Again, the productivity is about “using knowledge and skill to meet the demands of a stage yet to come.”
This also marks the point where Mercury is no longer “leads” the Sun, and instead becomes the herald, mapmaker, or tracker of the path the Sun will follow over the coming weeks before the next Inferior Conjunction in June. So instead of the Sun tracking and Mercury following, now Mercury tracks and the Sun follows. This is an important distinction I won’t go into today, but any time the inner planets swap places with each other it is a big deal in how things develop.
And so we bid a not-so-fond farewell to the Great Fracturing of early 2014, and prepare for the coming very weak Solar Eclipse at 9 Taurus on April 28-29. That said, the recent powerful Lunar Eclipse will still be shutting things down for us all over the next 3 months, so get ready for a new set of potential to arise as old ways and ideals shut down forever.

Wow I hadn't seen that one coming? It will be in my 7th house square MC in Leo, trine Pluto in Virgo, sextile Chiron in Pisces, all by less than a degree, in fact widest of them is MC still only half a degree off exact at 5Leo30. Really not sure on all that so will need to think on that possible potential even if it is weak lol! Will review those articles you mentioned and see if I can get sense of it, Thank you!

as the previous inferior conjunction was less than a degree from my sth node in Aquarius and did indeed shut down completely old mindsets that had held me to the past, I assume it may be possible that this superior conjunction may be to do with an idea for something new to move forward with now?

This conjunction opposes my Sun and the new moon/eclipse opposes natal Mercury, and is very close to my South Node. After a very tough several days of undertow, today felt like the turning tide. Interesting times!
