This distributive, idealistic, interactive, aspirational Full Moon showing us how to sense what’s coming while taking a look back at recent entries into a new way of living falls at the 23rd degree of Sagittarius and Gemini. This is the power of a shared knowledge expressed in a form of “immigration” that will power us into a way of feeling and knowing we’ve been experiencing since Autumn 2013. These two weeks we take the flexibility we’ve been learning since the New Moon and use it in a form of understanding so we may feel the direction we knew to take Summer 2013.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation is defined by oppositions involving Mars in Libra opposed Uranus in Aries, Venus in Taurus opposing Saturn in Scorpio, and Moon in Sagittarius opposition the Sun in Gemini. So expect a lot of oppositions, awareness, repolarizations, and general conditions where there are two or more sides to anything, with not a lot of willingness to give ground.
Due to Venus forming an exact opposition to Saturn, there will be many realizations, whether through a holistic awareness or a need for some space, between all of us and the others in our lives. This will help us get rid of stagnant thinking and ideas by letting some fresh air and sunshine into our minds, or at least our mental processes. However, this powerful forming opposition is resolved favorably via Neptune making the quintile and tredecile to the opposing planets, creating a specialized void with gifts and serendipity in early Virgo.
The Mars opposition to Uranus is also triggering a very powerful T-square, bringing aftershocks of the Great Fracturing of March-April. Mars is making it final exact square to Pluto, again showing us to moderate our responses to imbalanced people and situations, or be a peacemaker or the reasonable one in the midst of unreasonable people.
Pluto has been a leg in the various T-squares in play since 2010, and especially since late December 2013 through now. That’s been indicative of the very volatile energies that have fragmented everyone’s life in some way. Many have had some very inharmonious experiences, creating echoes and energy releases related to other cardinal T-squares over the past 3+ years. As I’ve told you before, this period is most affecting those born the first week of April, July, October, and January, as well as those with planets or angles between approximately 10-15 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The good news is that this T-square can release a lot of pent-up energy, helping break log jams and stuck situations. Due to Pluto’s influence, we continue to be challenged by forces beyond our control to embrace self-purification and self-transformation, while continuing to find a different perspective on past experiences, and let go of nonessentials and/or look back on old dramas to see how we repaired ourselves when we let go.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon in Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter in worldly affairs and Neptune in spiritual matters, while the Sun in Gemini is ruled by Mercury. This makes the Water elements loom large in how the Moon and Sun express themselves, since Jupiter, Mercury, and Neptune are all in Water signs.
In this chart, in worldly affairs all of the planets are ruled by the chain of dispositors involving the Mutual Reception between Moon in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Cancer coupled with Venus in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces, which are both their own final dispositor. That makes the Moon, Venus and Jupiter the primary forces behind the scenes in this chart, You can find more about dispositors by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
Even though it’s separating, the tide of Jupiter trine Saturn during the last half of 2013 and February, March, and April offered us all a quickened current that is taking us somewhere. Overall this has been a time of quickened flow, emotional intelligence, and a new stability that will be with us for years.
We have been experiencing our Soul promptings more acutely since last Summer, and found deep feelings and necessary structuring. As Jupiter is moving forward and just past its last trine to Saturn retrograde, we have moved through the third period of Water trines that hopefully have stabilizes whatever emotional intelligence we’ve developed the past year.
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 23 Gemini-Sagittarius. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aquarius and Leo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 23rd degree of Gemini is “Three fledglings in a nest high in a tree.” In the original Jones class notes from “The Astrology of Personality,” Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Conscious self-establishment in the soul and its threefold nature,” “innate self-confidence,” and “superiority of real being.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the growth of spiritually creative processes in an at least relatively integrated mind.” He states birds symbolize spiritual forces, or “the higher and freer aspects of the mind,” and offers that this is the beginning of a process “where the creative power of the spirit can be received and assimilated” in “the upper chamber of the consciousness.”
He goes on to say “fecundated by the spirit and supported by a deeply rooted cultural and vitalistic tradition, (we) can gradually develop an integral personality.” On a final note, he says “this should lead to a deeper and more natural understanding of human existence,” where our aroused desires are “transmuted through harmonization with natural drives … and spontaneous responses attuned to the phases of natural evolution. Stressed here is creative integration.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Restlessness, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Exteriorization on the Emotional-Social level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “potentiality caught and held through an initial and effective appreciation” shown through our ability for proving ourselves in some way. He states “the human soul is a consistent manifestation of its own special genius from the very beginning,” and we find ourselves in “the early and transcendental perspectives of immaturity.”
He offers us the keyword ELEVATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is an unconditioned creativity exalted to the point of complete freedom from any immediate involvement.”
So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of the elevation of the personality to the “upper chamber of consciousness,” where we find creativity and the ability to give and receive information that assists creative integration. This is the light of externalizing an idea with social worth, or cultural value, that shows how the Higher Mind is always assimilating the contents of the lower mind, and evolving its image of Self-perfection and self-expression as a consequence.
The Lunar degree symbol for the 23rd degree of Sagittarius is “Immigrants entering.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “new openings that come to all who are willing to risk self for the sake of greater selfhood,” “reorientation,” and presumption.”
In the Mandala he states this degree is one of “consciously accepting the ways of a new stage of experience, in readiness for the opportunities it will present.” He goes on to say that this is about passing a threshold and meeting “certain requirements and the necessity to adjust to new ways of life – in action, through and feelings.”
He offers that “everything that will follow depends largely on how we cross this threshold, and on the spirit in which we meet unfamiliar and perhaps shocking experiences,” where “we find ourselves in a period of transition. We have to imitate, yet retain our inner integrity.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Detachment, Act of Group-Integration, Scene of Transference on the Emotional-Social level.
Dr. Jones says this degree is about “opportunity caught and held through its effective recognition in advance, here dramatized by the creative faith of those who risk their well-being in bringing their skills into pioneer areas of self-expression.” He continues, “the human soul must be a consistent manifestation of its own special genius, and the individual escapes any major impasse in life when (we) are able to transplant (our) roots. Reality is never more sure than when regrasped in a radical reorientation.”
He offers the keyword of ENTRANCE. He states that when this degree works positively, it is “courage in crossing new frontiers and skill in repeating or improving on prior achievement.” This degree involves imagination, truth, openness, originality practicality, and social receptivity.
So the focus of the illumination available via this Full Moon is that we will all have opportunities to cross the threshold into a new arena of life and experience. Here we use faith and persistence to meet the requirements of some new area of experience, and just have to remember to have a good attitude and a sense of humor or irony as we focus on the openings we encounter.
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of creative integration to express our imagination or truth as we stand at the entryway to a new world. Here the Light of a discovery that demands externalization takes shape as a truth that opens a future where we will “manifest our own genius” by “transplanting our roots.”
As with previous Full Moons, important transformations helping us move into a deeper living Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to a greater feeling-knowing and awareness, where we open to our own feelings within the shared feelings we’re experiencing with others. We continue to be able to apply our emotional understanding and intelligence we’ve been cultivating since last June. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto occupies the last degree of Leo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet will dance at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo through July 5, 2014.
So enjoy this last period before the transition to a different transitional Era. After then we enter the TransPluto in Virgo era that will last through July 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the first time in many centuries, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra.
As the Lunation articles have grown to impossible lengths, I’m again trying to find ways to trim them and reposition some of the material to make it easier to digest. So this closes part 2 on this Full Moon. Part 3 will cover important chart factors, New Moon themes, Jones Patterns and more, so I’ll see you soon!
