Sitemeter has installed hidden spamware on my site that brings up obnoxious ads I never approved. You can get back to the article by hitting the back arrow near your url line. I will be dropping them soon since they refuse to correct it. Sitemeter is a dishonest spamming operation. Spread the word!
I was trying to figure that ad thing out! thanks for posting the work around

Hi Rand - Yes. Everyone who comes to this site please spread the word that Site Meter is a dishonest spam service. I believe Sitemater has broken laws since those of us who pay are not supposed to be plagued with ads. I've emailed them a dozen times and they don't care. No one is accountable, no one emails you back, but they take money from their subscribers and still dump ads on their sites.

Hello people, long-time lurker, first-time commenter here. I just wanted to mention that Ghostery is a popular and excellent browser add-on that blocks trackers of all kinds -- advertising, analytics, beacons, privacy, and widgets. And yep it blocks SiteMeter for me when I come to this site (as well as five other trackers here). For what it may be worth, SiteMeter is just one of almost 2,000 trackers that Ghostery can block. Hope this helps!
