This initiating, sensitive, practical, and promising Full Moon showing us how to sense which way to expand falls at the 21st degree of Capricorn. This is the power of personality integration expressed in a controlled and organized way that will make clear what we’ve been learning “success” would look like since Autumn 2013. These two weeks we take the emotional intelligence we’ve cultivated since Summer 2013 and ride the transformation process into Truth, honesty, and power.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation is has only one other opposition between the Moon and Jupiter, showing a lot of promise for the future. This can help us see a vision that will feed us, and a form of expression to make it real.
Those the Great Fracturing of March-April is done, we’ll get an aftershock these next two weeks since Mars makes a very powerful T-square to the Full Moon, throwing the void into Aries near the South Node. It’s time to be honest and straightforward, or see clearly the honest truth to the way something is, and re-shape expectations based in what’s ended, what’s ending, and what’s opening.
These Mars squares we’ve been dealing with for many months is teaching us to moderate our responses to imbalanced people and situations, or be a peacemaker or the reasonable one in the midst of unreasonable people. Also, this T-square anticipates the T-squares in play a few months down the road when the inner planets also transit Libra and trigger aftershocks of the Great Fracturing when they oppose Uranus and square Pluto. While this one is later than those will be, we are still being shown how to redirect our energies appropriately to protect or nurture what we really care about.
Those periods are related to the Uranus square Pluto that have formed two legs in the various T-squares in play since 2010, and especially since late December 2013 through June. That’s been indicative of the very volatile energies that have fragmented everyone’s life in some way. Many have had some very inharmonious experiences, creating echoes and energy releases related to other cardinal T-squares over the past 3+ years. As I’ve told you before, this period is most affecting those born the first week of April, July, October, and January, as well as those with planets or angles between approximately 10-15 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
The good news is that this T-square in the later degrees of the Cardinal signs can release a lot of pent-up energy, helping break log jams and stuck situations. Even though it’s not a player in this T-square, it continues to challenge us by forces beyond our control to embrace self-purification and self-transformation, while continuing to find a different perspective on past experiences, and let go of nonessentials and/or look back on old dramas to see how we repaired ourselves when we let go.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in worldly affairs and Uranus in spiritual matters, while the Sun in Cancer is ruled by the Moon. This makes the Water element powerful in how the Moon and Sun express themselves, since Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune are all in Water signs.
In this chart, in worldly affairs all of the planets are ruled by the chain of dispositors that ends with Mercury in Gemini being the final dispositor for all the other planets except Neptune in Pisces, which is its own final dispositor. That makes Mercury the primary force behind the scenes in this chart, You can find more about dispositors by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 21 Cancer-Capricorn. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the mental-spiritual levels of life, and being the last decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Pisces and Virgo.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 21st degree of Cancer is “A Prima Donna singing.” In the original Jones class notes from “The Astrology of Personality,” Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Elevation and popularization of human values through art as a social factor,” and “Supreme realization of the life ambition.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the emotional reward accompanying cultural success.” He says this is a degree of “pouring our energy into the skillful externalization of the great images of (a) culture,” where we are part of a story, or mythos, embodying “some of the most basic images and emotions characterizing the culture.”
He goes on to say here “we find the drive toward individualization... by means of cultural activity glorified in social and financial success.” He goes on to challenge us to examine what we believe is “success.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Ingenuousess, Act of Stabilization, and Scene of Consolidation on the Emotional-Social level.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “an inevitable culmination for individual opportunity, and of an enduring contribution of skill and talent” so the Soul can rediscover itself. He states “here the popularization of human values becomes a creative encouragement” that helps us lose our separate sense of self for a time, where “Perfection is sought as a certainty of self-continuance.”
He offers us the keyword EXCELLENCE. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is an overflowing richness of self through its full command of its own deep and genuine potentials.”
So the illumination available via this Full Moon is through the light of some sort of successful performance, or fulfillment of an ambition, within a social or cultural setup. This is the light of personality integration operating in the social matrix of our lives, showing us what success would look like, or showing us a success we’ve already accomplished.
The Lunar degree symbol for the 21st degree of Capricorn is “A relay race.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “Extreme of cooperation and give-and-take in life relationships,” “full surrender of self to service,” and “Planned group behavior.”
In the Mandala he states this degree is one of “the value of competition in developing group-consciousness.” He goes on to say this type of “competition between groups of individuals who take turns successively to maximize the group effort.” This is the “relay race of progress” where “major achievements result from the sum total of human strivings.”
He offers that this is a dynamic aspect of group performance, emphasizing “the value of group cooperation,” where we must adjust our strength to some challenge in a dynamic interchange. He states this degree falls in the Span of Dependence, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Group Performance on the Emotional-Social level.
Dr. Jones says this degree is about “an inevitable culmination for group opportunity,” where our individual skills and talents are given opportunities to grow through cooperation with others. This helps us establish values we share with others, and their dramatization is the means through which (we) best discover and refine (our) own latent potentialities.” We are told our “importance to (others) is (our) certainty of self-continuance.”
He offers the keyword of FITNESS. He states that when this degree works positively, it is “exceptional skill in bringing the elements of any given situation to a functional wholeness.
So the focus of the illumination available via this Full Moon is that we will all have opportunities to cooperate with others to enhance and show our skills, where our interactions will show us our values and allow us to demonstrate them to our world. Here we must show our stuff in some public way in concert with others in a planned service in give-and-take situation.
From these symbols it seems we can use the Light of personality integration to know how to perform in a successful manner as we stand at the threshold of a new Jupiterian adventure. Here the Light shines on Jupiter’s promise of last November when it went stationary retrograde on this exact degree, powering up the vision or adventure to those who have done the work Jupiter has offered us since then. That promise, vision, or truth of expression will take shape as a cooperative task, or some interaction where we join with others to maximize the result.
As with previous Full Moons, important transformations helping us move into a deeper living Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This calls us to honor the best of the greater feeling-knowing and awareness we’ve cultivated since June 2013. As usual, just keep moving with the flow, don’t try to push the river, and go deeper in your inner and outer feeling connections.
Learn to trust the process, and trust in your ability to navigate these currents as you embrace a new life. This feeling magnetism is showing us who are part of our Soul-group.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
One important thing to note. In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That a factor in why things have been so polarized the past several years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto again occupies the first degree of Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity. Again, the Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to show Viveka through understand the place and function of individual differences.
A brief note on the larger Era. We approach the end of the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we’ve known since September 20, 1935. Since October, 2011, we’ve been a transition period where this planet has danced at the last degree of Leo and first degree of Virgo. On July 5, 2014, TransPluto left Leo for many centuries, and entered into Virgo for the next century.
So we’ve officially entered a different Spiritual Era will last through July 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the first time in many centuries, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra. As the Lunation articles have grown to impossible lengths, I’m again trying to find ways to trim them and reposition some of the material to make it easier to digest. So this closes part 2 on this Full Moon. Part 3 will cover important chart factors, New Moon themes, Jones Patterns and more, so I’ll see you soon!
