Since Mars just conjuncted Saturn, over at KISS we've been having a thread on songs that seem to exemplify a Mars-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio. It reminded me of a song, written by a Scorpio with Mercury conjunct Mars in Scorpio, as he was slipping into the underworld.
The second New Moon article will be posted soon. To note, a LOT of people are contacting me about why things are so weird, on edge, sad, and "crossways" right now. Welcome to Venus in Leo square Mars conjunct Saturn in Scorpio! Add the New Moon opposed Neptune, and you have plenty of weird to go around! I'll be writing more about that as well in the near future, but for now, here's my "musical equivalent" to this energy.
Peter Green was/is one of the greatest electric guitar players in history. He's the blues player about whom the legendary BB King said, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats." No small praise from one of the greatest blues guitarists in history! Another from the great BB: "Peter Green has more talent in his little finger than I have in my whole body." When you're done listening to this musical Mars conjunct Saturn in Scorpio appetizer, please go check out more of his work at the link.
This song is haunting, harrowing, and about as deep in the underworld as anyone could ever go and still write and sing about. This song is not for the faint of heart! Hang on tight as you roll through the darkness of "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)" This is the original studio version, offered so you can understand the lyrics.
I also found this live performance from Sweden in 1970 by Peter and the band. It's 7 1/2 minutes of intensity at its sharpest! Look at Peter's face as he sings this while already living on that bleeding edge between heaven and hell. Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Live - "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)"

Fascinating trip via YouTube: Peter Green's studio version, leading to Judas Priest's cover... then The Melvins! And to be reminded Judas Priest's "Diamonds & Rust" is a Joan Baez cover... all VERY Eighth House.
Mars-Saturn conjunction is opposed my natal Venus in Taurus (in 2nd). Good description of transit's lessons (l)earned... in Joan Baez's words, with Rob Halford's voice: "And if you're offering me diamonds and rust... I've already paid."
Great music AND metaphors. Thanks!!

Thank you so much, Robert, for the gracious plug for KISS as well as for your definitely having captured the essence of the Mars-Saturn conjunction. (But come to think of it, what about Iron Butterfly's "Inna Gadda Da Vida" http://youtu.be/-kHYdhw-HyY or Apocalyptica's "Not Strong Enough" http://youtu.be/e5O90uzvUA4 - Surely these give Fleetwood Mac's "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown)" a run for the money.
I'm thinking that these three might at least be the top three in the MA/SA category.
Again, Robert, thank you. That was so kind of you!

Another great Mars conjunct Saturn in Scorpio is (coincidentally) Black Peter by The Greatful Dead.
Namaste
