Astrology in late September 2014 – Venus Enters Libra in the Heart of the Grand Irrationality

Today Venus enters Libra at 1:52 pm PDT, 9:52 pm BST. This is important for all who have planets or angles in Taurus or Libra!

Remember that for most of September, Mercury has been in Libra, and Venus in Virgo, making them in mutual reception, a very powerful “closed loop” type of energy since both planets were in signs ruled by the other. Once Mars left Scorpio and entered Sagittarius in mid-September, it was no longer the final dispositor for Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto, and left the power with Mercury and Venus.

That means that for the past two weeks, Mercury and Venus did a power sharing dance until Mercury entered Scorpio a couple of days ago, creating a chain of dispositors involving Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, the Sun and Venus, diffusing the power. But now that Venus has entered its home sign of Libra, all that changes!

So we now enter a 3 week period where Venus is the most powerful planet in our sky, since it’s the final dispositor for all the other planets except Neptune. Because Mercury’s already been in Libra, and the Sun entered Libra a week ago, Venus completes our intro to this year’s Libra energy, and shows us the way to deal with every other energy we are learning how to use for the next 3 weeks.

Fairness, balance, moderation, and reasonableness are front and center. This should be a time of seeing the value in relationships, past and present, due to Mercury being retrograde. Take a look back at previous times to see what you learned about a sense of perspective, proportion, elegance, charm, and diplomacy, and find new ways to express these.

On a final note for today, remember that the last 3 degrees of Virgo and the first two degrees of Libra trigger the Grand Irrationality. So Venus has been septile Saturn, biseptile Pluto, and now enters a triseptile to Neptune. So yes, this has been and continues to be a crucial turning point for many, and we should find something of value to what we experienced between September 19-23.
