Yesterday we began to explore the vast and complex subject of meditation. Today we continue to explore more about the theme.
As I offered, There are as many techniques of meditation as there are ways to get the mind out of the way of experiencing pure non-dual, non-material awareness. There are even meditations that people don’t think are meditations, like playing music or creating other forms of art, or even the intensity of scientific explorations that are so far out they’re in.
I also mentioned some of the many different types of meditation include sitting meditations, walking meditations, meditations that help you get out of your own way, meditations in spaciousness and luminosity, and many other ways to meet and greet God, our Soul, our Higher Self, our Eternal Self, our Absolute Consciousness, or whatever other way there is to describe it.
Meditation isn’t about attaining anything, as much as it ultimately leads to self-forgetfulness. Meditation involves techniques of attuning to All-That-Is, depending on whatever aligns us at that time in our lives and awareness. In all cases it takes us beyond the “self-grasping, self-cherishing mind” and helps us experience, even for a moment, what is beyond our 5 senses and our minds.
Even the mind can be used to get beyond the mind. It’s about getting to a place of direct heart-knowledge beyond thinking concrete thoughts. That’s why any written work that opens vaster perspectives and triggers subtle yet profound experiences facilitates a meditational state.
"Occult Preparations for a New Age" by Dane Rudhyar springs to mind, if you can find a copy. It offers a vaster perspective on life, humanity, evolution, and cosmos. By contemplating these from unusual angles one can come into higher states of awareness. Another good work is "The Holy Science" by Sri Yukteswar, where we go through ancient commentaries about the nature of thought, matter, light and electricity, and see everything in a different light. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is another work that will take you places you've never been before.
These books and others can facilitate meditational states if you contemplate the meaning beyond the words. To illustrate what I’m offering you here, if you want to read something that will put you in a very high meditational state of awareness, here’s a link to a small piece from the Magic of Space. Contemplate what's there and you'll find yourself meditating quite nicely if you detach from needing to know anything. Just read the piece, then sit still, and allow yourself to experience the larger connectedness with the Spirit world without letting your mind, feelings, or body distract you to whatever degree they are able.
If you want more, keep clicking back through the links to previous articles, contemplate what is offered, and you will find yourself meditating without effort, since if you read several of them in succession, you will find you are already in an altered state. That's meditation. Of course there are other works that can also open you to a non-ego structured state.
One way to view meditation is that it's where you find your Self once the body and feelings are stilled and the mind is primed to go beyond its familiar interpretations. In another example of a vaster, timeless perspective that could lead you to a view beyond a sense of separateness, in my book "Love Dad," I offer that we Souls are individually radiant sentient spheres of love.
We are timeless, changing, evolving beings. It is on that level of Soul that our relationships with our loved ones exist. I envision that we are overlapping radiant love, touching each other in a deep intermingled way, living our lives in an infinite sea of energy we call Love. Humanness is a life-long challenge to integrate our body, emotions, and mind so we may wisely and lovingly express our Soul-Spirit.
If you meditate on what I've just written, it can take you into an altered state. Contemplate your entire existence in the light that you and all others you have ever met, or will ever meet, are overlapping sentient spheres of love. You and all the other radiant sentient spheres of love you’ve known are learning how to attach and detach with love so that you can experience something beyond your separate self.
As I offered you yesterday, keep feeling your union with the beyond, and learn how to observe your mind's tendency to override, to grasp, to judge, or to distract. Then learn to regard it as something YOU use when it's not using you, and see the body and feelings the same way. Learn to move, not with the lower, but with the higher.
Detach from the conditional, and embrace the Eternal. Detach from fear, and embrace Love. Detach from wanting to know you are meditating correctly, and you will learn to meditate.

Brilliant and "natural". No fuss, it is clearly explained. Depth simply explained. Thanks!
