Today we celebrate the Thanksgiving song embraced throughout America for many decades. The story involves someone being arrested on Thanksgiving day for littering....
For your enjoyment, a particularly funny audio-only version somewhat different from the original. In it Arlo relates that he found out Nixon had a copy of the album in the White House, and notes that the original song was 18 minutes 34 seconds long, the same length as the gap in the Nixon Watergate tapes. For your enjoyment, a 22+ minute version of "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." (as he originally stated, "with full orchestration and five part harmony...") And sing it with feelin', of course!
For a live performance, here's Arlo at the Guthrie Center in July 2005 performing "Alice's Restaurant Massacree."
Thanks for the tale, Arlo. Glad you made it off the "Group W bench..."

It does not get any better than this. I love Arlo in every way. I saw him once and I have never been more entertained in my entire life. He has the type of humor that is most appealing to me. I enjoyed this so much, thank you Robert. Classic!
