Venus enters Cancer today at 3:52 pm PDT, 6:52 pm EDT, 11:52 pm BST. What does this mean?
One major correspondence is that you will no longer be getting a Gemini experience of the houses ruled by Taurus and Libra, and will begin feeling more about those life affairs. Same with any planets you have in Taurus or Libra, which will feel less “Airy” and more “Watery.”
For example, Taurus co-rules my 10th house, and Libra rules my 3rd and co-rules my 4th. So the past several weeks I’ve had more of a Gemini quality in these areas, and now there will be more of a Cancerian quality.
That could mean that I will seem less of a multitasker, or maybe less adaptable (Gemini) in my profession (10th house), and more caring and sensitive (Cancer). It could also mean that my expression (3rd house) will be less mind-based (Gemini), and more feeling-based (Cancer), or that rather than think and talk (Gemini)about my early life memories (4th house), I’ll be more grounded in my feelings (Cancer).
Venus can also bring sweetness or value to the life area it transits, and helps us “capture” what is pleasing to us. Look to the house where you have Cancer to see where you might experience one or more of these qualities through June 5, when it enters Leo.
Sometimes Venus “softens” or “makes more beautiful” the expression of a planet that it conjuncts. If you have a planet or angle in Cancer, you may find that you have a greater appreciation or enjoyment of that part of your life and expression.
And since Venus is the herald for the other inner planets, then the Gemini Venusian experiences we’ve had since April 11 will be activated in various ways as the other planets also transit Gemini. Since Mercury is already in Gemini, we should be getting ideas, signs, and signals related to our Venus in Gemini experiences.
A few days from now on May 11/12, Mars will enter Gemini, and begin to activate our Venus and Mercury in Gemini experiences into forms of direct action. When the Sun enters Gemini in about 2 weeks, much will be powered up, illuminated, and integrated into our Light/Life for this year. Of major importance is that we will be getting a review and reinterpretation of some of our Venus in Gemini experiences as Mercury retrogrades back across the Gemini span Venus transited between April 14-21.
On a final note for today, while Venus in Cancer is not in one of its “dignities” by sign, Venus is very harmonious in Cancer for several reasons. Cancer is in harmony with Venus’ home sign of Taurus, as well as its exaltation in Pisces. Venus brings a welcome sympathetic interactive quality in Cancer, and this sign position is potentially one of beautiful appreciative tender care.
Even though Cancer is in square to Venus’ rulership of Libra, Cancer is the culmination of Libra energy, so Libra “flowers” in the sign of Cancer. While Venus in Gemini accented the Libra side of Venus, Cancer will accent the Pisces/Taurus qualities of Venus, an extremely good thing!
So feel the beauty of turning a major corner as Venus leaves ambivalent and scattered Gemini and enters the radical reorientation indicated by Cancer. Much that has been insecure will be secured in the near future, and a lot of abstractions and speculations in our Taurus, Gemini, and Libra areas will give way to a “gathering of our medicine” that will enable us to secure new conditions and new lines of supply.
