Saturn and Uranus show us the boundaries of our imagination and the gateway to creative individuality. When we learn to use these energies wisely, each in the right way and time, our potential is limitless, and each mastery acquired through practice and patience becomes our individual path to freedom and higher purpose.
I last gave this to you a year ago. When we look at what Saturn and Uranus mean to human evolution, I am reminded of Rod Serling’s immortal words:
"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area we call the Twilight Zone."
I originally gave this to you in 2011, when we were passing through a long wave "dream time," preparing to see our imagery take new forms and re-shape our lives in 2011. As this is a recurring phenomenon, and we have the power of creative visualization any time we want to use it (which has only grown stronger since Neptune entered Pisces), today we’ll examine what to dream and how to dream with an eye to what can and cannot be accomplished of our own will.
While it is true that "matter follows thought," and that the science of precipitation (as it is called in esoteric philosophy) involves concentration on an image, or thought form, until it is made manifest, there are limits to this hidden power within us. Cultivating precision of thought and holding the image, doing all we can to make it real, allows us to create in ways that few can believe. But this power also has its pitfalls for those who fail to remember that Dharma rules all.
To explore the subjects of the science of precipitation and the nature of Dharma (Sanskrit for “true functioning”) to any degree would require hundreds if not thousands of pages, so today we'll only examine one or two critical points. Let's begin with where Spirit and Matter meet within us, the critical zone between the inspiration and the reality of our individual existence.
We are Eternals having human experiences. But not all human experiences are ours to own, since some are not appropriate to who we are and what we’re here to learn. While we may embrace countless experiences, many of these have a very short time span as we walk our walk, since we evolve with every choice we make. And of course, what may be appropriate for a period of time when we’re younger may not be allowed at all as we mature into greater spiritual awareness and purpose.
Regarding vicarious experience, we can find tremendous compassion and open to greater awareness through our empathic vehicles, but that is not the same as actually walking a walk. In that sense you do not need to go to prison to know it's not a nice place to be. And living on a poor hippie commune is not the same as growing up on a Native American reservation.
Saturn is our "Ring Pass Not," the limits we know and the limits we do not know. Uranus is the Eternal Spark of Divine Individuality that moves us in ways we often do not comprehend. Saturn binds, while Uranus liberates. We have both forces working on us all the time, in both material and non-material ways.
Dealing with these two simultaneously occurring forces teach us how to “make our freedom real,” while living a constant revolution in how we view forms that temporarily bring us security. Uranus is ungrounded inspired individual freedom eternally exploring infinite possibilities, while Saturn teaches us the limits of our ability to shape certain elements of our ex-pressed reality within the 4th dimensional field of time.
While we may want to believe that "all things are possible," in fact they may not be possible for us, and even when they are, their manifestation is "bound by time," in that even if something is possible for us to manifest, it will take time. Some things cannot be pushed into manifestation, since they have their own rhythm of existence apart from our sense of time as the creator.
For example, the creation of a child takes 9 months. Over my years of doing and teaching the science of thought form building and the art of crafting affirmations, I have observed it often really does take 9 months for our labors and efforts to manifest as well, especially those things that mark life altering creations and the events that inevitably follow in their train.
That said, some things can be created in a very short time; other creations take longer. Some creations just require a little effort and some tending to their maturity; other creations require a lot of effort, tremendous commitment through many trials, obstacles, and delays. Our attitude in large part determines what does or doesn't show up, since attitude either supports the creation or frustrates it.
That's the rub of where our Saturn function meets our Uranus function. Keeping a healthy balance between these two keeps us on track while our inspiration works 24/7. Too much Saturn can breed pessimism and an unhealthy sense of limitation, while too much Uranus sends our head spinning into furthest space disconnected from our body. Uranus will run us over a precipice, while Saturn keeps us in prisons of our own making.
That’s why we learn ultimate lessons of dominion over form through Saturn and its qualities of patience, organization, self-initiative, a sense of duty and discipline, and responsible authorship. There can be no enduring form without Saturn’s firm and mature hand guiding the Spirit that seeks eternal discovery. Inspiration is always there but it take the structure of Saturn to make it manifest.
Saturn also symbolizes Dharma in that through Saturn we learn the limits of what we can and cannot create in expressing our “true function.” Again, though we’d like to believe all things are possible, we are in fact limited by the extent of our knowledge, wisdom, and ability to respond to inspiration appropriate to who we are as an Eternal Spirit-Soul.
While we are free to explore infinite possibilities, we cannot experience what is not ours to experience. But within that primary “Ring Pass Not” an almost limitless set of experiences are ours to own. We cannot live any other Dharma than our own, but our own is magnificent in its possible expressions leading us and our world to higher Truths than we’ve known before.
So as your continue your dreaming of your highest ideal life to come in the future, remember that you also want to create that which is perfect for your future growth into your Higher Self. Sometimes what is perfect for the growth of our Higher Self doesn't look very pleasing to our ego with its limited views.
That's why some degree of detachment, dispassion, and discrimination are useful as we create and then see the various pushes and pulls that force us to re-evaluate some things, refine some things, and alter the trajectory of our thought form. Regard the dreaming of how to create a better future life as an “experiment in Truth,” and be willing to adjust what needs adjusting as you see your ideal made manifest over time.
Combine the inventive inspiration of Uranus with the steady patient works of Saturn and be patient as you move through the changes associated with any creation. If you do what must be done in the right way and time, whatever you’re attempting to dream into future reality will result in you living a different Truth and life appropriate to your evolving Higher Self. That of course affects the rest of your life, so dream wisely, grasshopper!

This is so very beautifully written. I can only wish that I have the patience and wisdom to learn what my dharma is. Life takes one on many twists and turns, I feel I may need to somehow connect to a higher perspective, have a degree of detachment as you mentioned. How have you learned what your dharma is? Thank you Robert!

Brilliant, so well explained. Discipline, patience and the discrimination to know what to dream and what to build, the summary of a life worth living in pursue of our and humanities dharma.
Blessings be to all

This is wonderful, Robert! Now if you would only write on the difference between the true inner voice and the one that's wishful thinking. I've noticed that I have the strange power to manifest the signs and signals pointing to something that I'd like to manifest, without the actual manifestation!

Thank you Robert! I was born with Saturn and Uranus in trine in fire signs, but with Uranus in the 4th and Saturn in the 7th, and a bundle of Scorpio planets, I'm not sure I have yet been able to harness the trine energy in a way that doesn't feel very lonely. At the same time I haven't fully been able to be the lone wolfette and be happy with it. Interesting to see it through this lens. Thank you.

Nice article, Robert. Thank you for shedding a little light on Saturn/Uranus dynamics in our lives. I was born with Saturn opposite Uranus conjunct Pluto. Obviously this has been a battleground in my life. Saturn resides in the 4th and Uranus is in the 10th. Your words have given me some insight about the nature of my struggle. Mostly my Saturn has demanded dominance. I have recently been giving Uranus a bit of his glory in an effort at some sort of balance. I needed to change. I was afraid to but I did.I feel guilty for choosing freedom but Saturn has been ruining my life with hopelessness and compulsion. It is hard to do what you know you have to do when every fiber of your being wants to serve the insecurity of Saturn in the 4th. I just had to balance for once in my life.I was crumbling under too much weight.

I have been grappling with the concept of ideal and idea and have concluded that there is only one ideal, and it is the thought itself. After that it becomes the idea to work with and if we conclude that the ideal can never be reached we may get closer to that ideal itself. Uranus(flash thoughts) works with the ideal and Saturn works with the idea of developing them. What an amazing insight to come up with in a Mercury retrograde. Somehow you confirmed this-thanx
