This consolidating, dynamically expressive, future oriented Full Moon at 8 Leo-Aquarius will shake things up in some very unique and favorable ways! Here we take the faith we’ve been learning or demonstrating since the New Moon and use it to bring a new openness to our ideas and interactions.
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. This particular Lunation has only one other opposition, that being the Moon opposed Mercury.
That may show as feelings opposed to ideas, or the ability to take “enlightened ideas” and express those values as patterns to be imitated. That aspect shows the need for a larger social sense, and focusing emotional intensity in order to put it to good use. Be open to “unsuspected resources” that can be tapped to express a larger ideal, as well as pioneering initiatives.
There are mitigating aspects that can help ease the tension and allow for ways to use the oppositional “headwinds” to achieve forward motion and progress which I’ll cover in part 3. This Full Moon continues a string of various additional oppositions off and on for many months.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Moon is in Aquarius, making Saturn the ruler in worldly affairs, and Uranus the ruler in spiritual matters. Saturn is in Scorpio, and is ruled by Mars in Cancer, itself ruled by the Moon. That makes Water (feelings) important in how the Moon expresses itself.
The Sun is in Leo, the sign it rules, making it the dispositor of itself and all the other planets not covered by the Lunar chain of dispositors, except of course for Neptune in its home sign of Pisces. You can find out more about dispositors in general, final dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 8 Leo-Aquarius. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, physical, and material levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Leo and Aquarius.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar degree symbol for the 8th degree of Leo is “A Bolshevik propagandist.” In the Jones class notes, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Leavening of the inchoate materials of a new order by a forceful vision born of repression and misfortune,” and “revolution.”
In the Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree is about “the emotional and ideological attempt to return to a state of non-differentiation and chaos as a prelude to a new type of order.” He goes on to state that this stage of the process represents “the activity of destructive or catabolic forces) in response to a “confrontation” that initiated this sequence of symbols.
Here we see the response to the resistance in our search for “a new way of life and a new sense of values.” We are told this is a revolutionary degree that leads to chaos, but that “chaos is a state of being that calls for a new descent of the power to reorganize and differentiate.”
This symbol is said to be one of confrontation between a “vision of a cosmic order might heal the potential conflict between an obsolete Establishment and its youthful challengers,” and we are told that it represents “catabolic action.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Assurance, Act of Stabilization, and Scene of Combustion on the Emotional-Cultural level.
So this third degree synthesis symbol shows us the illumination of dealing with confrontations on a different level, where we push back against the reaction and resistance to a higher law or way of being. This offers a lot of ferment in our creative process, which of course also includes “the art of our life.” It promises some form of chaos, but only as a prelude to a new organized and integrated way of expression.
Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “the indomitable expectation of the human spirit as it gather strength from the innermost reaches of (our) enduring nature,” symbolized by the “recurrent battles over social and political concepts.” He continues with “the exceptional dynamic involved is seen in the selfless energy developed to an extreme by the revolutionists of each new age.”
He finishes with stating that our “human community” needs “a worthy cause to which to rally in every aspect of its potential.” He offers us the keyword LEAVEN. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “a determination to share the soul’s vision and to make a permanent impact on history.”
The Lunar degree symbol for the 8th degree of Aquarius is “Beautifully gowned wax figures.” Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Need for public presentation of virtues and life standards,” “exteriorization of value, that it may be shared with others.”
In the Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "the inspiration one may derive from the appearance of Exemplars who present to us the archetypes of a new culture,” and states this is a part of the cycle that shows us “fixed symbols” and “mental archetypes” that are the basis of culture. Here we see “patterns to imitate,” or which can provide inspiration. He says this symbol is one where “we are at a stage of vision: new forms are revealed to the consciousness, as well as new ways of meeting other people in social relationships.”
So the expression of form in this Full Moon is through understanding patterns as they “pre-form” a new cultural manifestation not yet born. It is said “they herald new collective developments.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Defensiveness, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Contribution on the Emotional-Cultural level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the ineradicable vanity of the human spirit as it gathers strength not only from the finery it wears but from a superficial display (of form and reputation) through personal idealizations.” He says “a strong psychological dynamic for individual effort comes from the direct influence of outstanding and even notorious people,” and the waxworks show us the need “to recognize and identify the values worthy of emulation.”
He offers the keyword IMPACT. He goes on to state that when operating positively, the degree is “achievement through the effective dramatization of human character on some level of everyday understanding.”
From these symbols it seems we can see the light of causes we rally to, and our determination to play a more effective role in the world as creative beings, expressed through seeing and demonstrating patterns to emulate that “pre-form” what’s coming in the future. This is the Light of a forceful expression of the heart within a social or cultural setup expressed through the higher awareness of patterns that show us what’s coming.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, Neptune, and the Polarization in the Collective Atmosphere
In the Full Moon charts of 2009-2012, Neptune was in a very close opposition to TransPluto, the planet symbolizing Divine Mother Energy. That’s a major factor in why things became so polarized during those years, teaching humanity compassion and the need for Viveka, or Divine Discrimination. This has offered all of us opportunities to join together in the Great Mother and realize our interrelatedness on a feeling level with All-That-Is.
The energies of Divine Mother will only grow stronger throughout this century, and these will be demonstrated each time the planets make significant aspects to TransPluto. In this chart TransPluto is direct at 1 Virgo, showing us the long term future of humanity.
The Divine Redeemer is showing us ways to demonstrate a higher and broader level of discernment through understanding the place and function of individual differences. This is another set of lessons related to the period it occupied the first degree of Virgo in October 2011 through October 2014, after which it moved to 2 Virgo.
In terms of the larger Era, we’ve now ended the TransPluto (Percephone, Parvati) in Leo era that we knew from September 20, 1935 through July 4, 2014. The transition period where this planet danced at the last degree of Leo and first two degrees of Virgo began October 2011 and ended July 2014.
On July 4, 2014, TransPluto left Leo for many centuries, and entered into Virgo for the next century. It made it to 2 Virgo on October 16, 2014, where it eventually went stationary retrograde. That degree is one of humanity experiencing “a liberating ordeal.”
Because it’s Divine Mother, I would think that would mean we all will be tested to allow compassion and understanding to come forth as humanity stands at the crossroads of time.
In this chart it’s at 1 Virgo, the degree where it went stationary direct on May 16-17. It is now completing our 2015 experience of 1 Virgo through early September when it returns to its previous SRX degree, the “liberating ordeal” of 2 Virgo. Since 1 and 2 Virgo will dominate the landscape through October 2017, any study given to this degree span will be helpful in navigating the next 28 months.
So we’ve officially entered a different Spiritual Era that will last through July 2107, when it leaves Virgo for good and re-enters Libra for the first time in many centuries, also after a few years of dancing on the cusp of Virgo and Libra. I just offered you a bit more about this vast spiritual energy field in Astrology in the Age of Aquarius - Transpluto, a.k.a Divine Mother, Parvati, and Percephone.
As the Lunation articles have grown to impossible lengths, this closes part 2 on this Full Moon. Part 3 will cover important chart factors, aspects, configurations and more, which I'll give you soon.

Thanks Robert. Very clear and interesting. A different energy to deal with world and group events (the feminine; Percephone, Parvati...) in the face of so many comfortations. A new view on our inte-relatedness.
Ready for part 3!
Blessings be to all

Wow. All the dates you mentioned resonated with me. I have my Sun on 1 Degree 48 mins of Virgo. I have gotten in depth with my study of the esoteric arts around 7 years ago. But I got more engrossed in 2011. I would never have guessed that TransPluto had a say in this. Thank you forbsuch an informative read.
