Legendary actor, musician, and civil rights activist Ted Bikel just left the building. He was an extraordinarily talented man who gave us great memories. Aum and blessings. Thanks to Michelle Young, here's an extraordinary clip from 1963 of Theo and the amazing Judy Collins performing "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine," and of course, he's best known for his role in Fiddler On The Roof singing "If I Were A Rich Man." She also came up with this audio-only gem from 1956 of Theo and Pete Seeger offering us "Hine Ma Tov" which Michelle offers is "the Hebrew folk song in round. The meaning of this song is 'How pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together.' Something all of us still need to learn." I'll second that emotion.
Thanks so much for the nod, Robert. I added a few more great ones Theodore Bikel had done in four languages, as you know, to my article. He deserved the applause from all of us! He truly was an amazing man!
Namaste, my friend.

Theo and Pete Seeger contributed so much to our culture and consciousness. Together they created the Newport Folk Festival (ironically, happening this weekend). They both were instrumental in introducing North American anglo audiences to Folk songs from around the world.
