It’s time to flame on! Today Mercury enters Sagittarius, and on November 22 the Sun enters Sagittarius. What do these changes hold for us?
First, it impacts planets and houses where we have Gemini, Cancer, Leo, and Virgo, and begins a fiery opening. Up to now those signs have had their rulers in the Fixed Water of Scorpio, but now the expression will shift to the Mutable Fire of Sagittarius. What has been bound will be unbound, and what has been holding tension will explode into wider zones of expression and understanding.
On a related note, Mercury and the Sun just shifted in their internal dance with their Superior Conjunction yesterday at 25 Scorpio. Mercury is again ahead of the Sun, heralding signs and signals that will be illuminated and “powered up” as the Sun tracks those degrees. It also means that it no longer is a morning star, and will now become an evening star over the coming weeks. And since it no longer “leads” the Sun in the sky, it means that Saturn will lead the Light after their conjunction on Nov 29/30.
These are also the first inner planet conjunctions in the Saturn in Sagittarius era, triggering all kinds of new Sagittarius cycles in our charts for the next year. Also, now that Mercury is in Sagittarius it makes a mutual reception with Jupiter in Virgo, a very powerful self-reinforcing energy loop. This also dilutes the power Venus has had as the final dispositor for all the other planets except Neptune.
When Mercury and the Sun enter Sagittarius, they will both quintile Jupiter, offering unique gifts and circumstances. From there they’ll make a binovile, and then a square to Jupiter, so take note of the sequence, since the Mercury/Jupiter mutual reception will form the backdrop for the energies of the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto.
This definitely shifts the energies out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius for the year! However, it also puts the spotlight squarely on Mercury and the Sun conjunct Saturn and square Neptune, a very powerful culminating square. Be organized and realistic in your search for truth and how you imagine things to be.
These squares will dominate the rest of the month, with the eye of the hurricane between Nov 24-30. This period also will bring us a Full Moon on Nov 25 at 4 Gemini/Sagittarius, thus giving us all a very powerful Mutable T-square throwing the void into early Virgo, in the same span of degrees as the Sun conjunct Jupiter in late August. This period will challenge those beginnings, or those beginnings will be the solution to the problems of late November and early December.

Thanks Robert. I am amid many changes and little clarity, this may change the perspective and a better understanding will be brought about.
Blessings be to all.

I am so happy you told us the positive aspects of jupiter in virgo.
Jupiter might be the Light at the end of month!
Saturn at sagittarius is probably not only for "punishment".
Let's see planet as a justice also.

Dear Robert,
I like your elegant way you interpret the time qualities. And I learned very much about astrology reading your excellent articles!
Could you explain this:
"..And since it no longer “leads” the Sun in the sky, it means that Saturn will lead the Light after their conjunction on Nov 29/30."
Why led Mercury the Sun?
Thank you!!

Hi all - Thanks for checking in.
Hi Adriana - It has to do with which planet rises before the Sun each day. It's an ancient concept that has to do with '"the herald of the light of the day." I'll do an article on it next week.
