Happy birthday! Wishing you many happy (solar) returns. :)

Leia Cohen

What happens if I am traveling and I spend two days in a place during my solar return but then I move on to live in a totally different place for the rest of the year. Do I look at the solar return for that place I visited even if I was only there 48 hours?

Robert, from Europe my best birthday wishes and a happy solar return!!

Happy Solar return and all best wishes!
My son just had his yesterday (here still today there :-)). It turned to be the most different, unusual and the nicest of all by now. May the rest of the year is as great for all celebrating this days.
Recently I'm wondering the same question as the one in the comment above. Most of the years I don't celebrate my birthday at home but 2000 km away. I'm studying the previous years SR-s with the knowledge about the past that I have today and can't really understand which SR is most considerable. Do we really change the energy for the year ahead via day-two-week relocation for our birthday or we experience the one of our home location? Or maybe we experience both together?
Do we also take on account all planets and aspects or only the position of the personal planets and angles?

Happy birthday does one work around fuzzy birth times?

I've found the Sabian Symbols Oracle to be much more true for me than the I Ching. Also, Cafe Astrology site has a pretty decent "if today is your birthday" forecast, although you of course don't need that, Robert!

Happy Birthday and Happy Solar Return! Thank you for all you do. It is greatly appreciated.

Hi all - Thanks for your good wishes! Had a great meditation at 5 am this morning!

Hi Leia - Yes. The Solar Return is a frozen moment in time that aligns the transiting Sun with the natal Sun. You can only be where you are. You cannot be anywhere other than where you are at that moment. That gives the chart for the following year.

Hi Maggie - Remember that the Solar Return often occurs the day before your birthday, so where you are impacts the chart that is generated. If you are not at your home location at the moment of the SR, then you're not there. If you do the chart for where you live, then it's just a transit chart, but it's not a true "Solar Return." As I mentioned above, we can only be one place in space during that specific time. If you're breathing the air at that location, that's where the chart is done for.

Hi Sue - Fuzzy times are difficult, since no specific chart can be generated. Of course, if you have an estimated time of birth, then a SR chart can be generated for that general time, and it can be used for rectification based in the timing of events during the subsequent year. You can "reverse engineer" it by looking at prior Solar Return years where a significant event happened, and then figure out if the angles need to be moved, and if so, by how much. But this is a very advanced rectification technique.

Hi Diana - I tend to use the I Ching because it takes the "wishful thinking" factor out of the equation. I do use the Sabian Symbols according to the technique Rudhyar outlined at the end of the "Astrological Mandala," b/c the angles of the Solar Return conform to that "what, whereto, how and why" technique he offered. As for any other SS Oracle, I suppose it's all in how accurate the interpretation is. Marc Jones was very specific in his disdain for "reinterpretations" of the SS, including an unspoken rebuttal to Rudhyar's work.

I have found that believing "this to be much more true than that" still is influenced by the wishful thinking and expectations of the beholder. I take the approach that I am just being given information, all of which is true. I am more intrigued by the oracular symbols that don't seem to fit, since they are the means to open the door to a different understanding of my gestalt.

I use other, more established "oracles" to give me more info, like drawing a Major Arcana card for the year, an Animal Totem card, and I even used to draw a Rune, but over time realized the I Ching gave me all that the Runes could and more. Again, having studied symbology for many years when younger, including dream interpretation according to the rules given by Carl Jung and the great Harry Wilmer (who I knew personally), I find each symbol and its meaning must be referenced relative to the experience of the one consulting the oracle, even though they may not understand that meaning. I tend to reject "shotgun" approaches to interpreting symbols, since to quote a Great One, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...."

Happy Solar Return Dear Highness!!!!

Happy Birthday Robert!
Blessings be to you and to everyone.

A very Happy Solar Return and Birthday to you, Sir Robert!

Love your comments...
