The third “High Moon” distributes the “Buddha Wisdom” of the Wesak to the world as a World Teaching for us all. This one intensifies things to the max!
Important Chart Factors
Given the number of oppositions in this chart, there are more than a few polarized energies in play, bringing a lot to the surface. Try to find peace amidst the many oppositions, since Mercury brings the Great Fracturing back into play in this Full Moon. This Lunation (and by extension, this year) will make a compassionate wisdom available to us all, with many confronting a break point in making overdue decisions. This is an extremely important Full Moon in the larger gestalt, since it happens just before Mars goes stationary direct, which will move things forward in a big way!
This is the final point of the Grand Mutable Cross, as well as the final trine from Jupiter to Pluto. We have a host of spiritual aspects going on, and faith will play a huge part in helping us resolve dualistic situations. And gifts are on the way!
The Mutable Cross dominates the energy of this Full Moon, and through “collection of light” brings the frictional aspects between Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune back into focus. It’s most affecting those with planets in the middle degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, including those born in the first week of March, June, September, and December.
Adaptability and the ability to suspend judgment while exploring all there is to explore without wanting too much order are the keys to success. Because Mercury is opposed Saturn, take the balance you’ve found since the last New Moon and find responsible ways to express your ideas that help you leave the ghosts of the past behind. Take a new look at what you believe you’re responsible for, and renounce pessimism and narrow views, expanding your spiritual rapport with others in your world.
Because Jupiter in Virgo is the handle for the “Bucket” pattern, it is extraordinarily important in how to get a handle or focus on things. Be practical, precise, and functional within a larger vision, and show humor when overcoming any limiting beliefs or circumstances. The opposition from Pisces to Virgo counsels us to stay alert to seeing the bigger picture, and learn how to give things an occasional push so they prove in our long term interest.
In some ways, this is the end of a collective submergence, with new service and newer, more effective ways to live demanded within the collective dreamscape. So it’s both the end of the end of an old way of relating to others and even to our life story, even as newer necessities break the surface in a cacophony of possibilities thanks to the Mutable Cross.
Major Aspects and Configurations
The Mutable Cross and the accompanying fracturing will ultimately be tremendously beneficial in clearing out some limiting attitudes and circumstances so we can find the knowledge that ensures us forms of wealth and power in the future. Since the Jupiter square Saturn, and Jupiter opposed Neptune are back in play, we’ll take one last look at the best way to handle these energies.
Jupiter square Saturn gives us the opportunity to bring much to completion. If you feel that some effort is not worth the price, it’s an opportunity not to fall into discouragement or set your sights too low, or allow unnecessary rules and limitations to put you off your goal. Make sure your values and ambitions are reinforcing each other, and you’ll develop the strength to hold the focus under pressure.
Jupiter is now separating from its opposition to Neptune, but still trine Pluto, this is the time to go to the core and see the openings that are obvious. This favorable productive building awareness can be released through Mercury and Saturn. Be a good juggler and communicator, find different ways of viewing things to shift the momentum, and you’ll find your expertise has led you to a different realm of activity.
Besides the powerful Mutable Cross fracturing and releasing many different things in different areas of our lives, there is also a wide forming opposition from Venus to Pluto, anticipating coming polarizations. Because it is also trine Neptune and quintile Jupiter, we now enter a much more productive time when rectangles are activated, showing that every polarization will also be accompanied by forms of understanding where we find stability as we embrace the gifts indicated by the quintiles.
Other frictional aspects include the Moon in an out of sign opposition to Venus and Saturn sesquisquare Uranus. So the Cross is really the major friction of the coming two weeks, and we now enter a time of gathering up the pieces for a new initiative due to the many favorable aspects already set into motion.
However, the good news is we have a huge number of harmonious and spiritual aspects in this chart! These include Moon quadranovile Mercury, decile mars, vigintile Saturn, and quintile Neptune, Mercury quadranovile Mars, Venus quintile Jupiter, quintile Uranus, and trine Neptune, and the Sun biquintile Mars, quintile Jupiter, quadranovile Saturn, bielftile Uranus, tredecile Neptune, and pentelftile Pluto.
Moving out, we find Jupiter biquintile Uranus and trine Pluto, Saturn decile Pluto, and Uranus pentelftile Pluto. Deciles, quintiles, tredeciles, and biquintiles are all specializing aspects, with the former two personal and the latter two interactive. I have articles explaining these aspects in the archives, as well as the other aspects. If you want to know more about quadranoviles and the various elftile series aspects, when you’re done here please go to The Spiritual Aspect Series – The Novile, Septile, and Elftile Harmonic Aspects where you’ll find more about the meaning of these aspects and the glyphs associated with them. Also, remember that all of these set up harmonic resonance void points all over our charts.
As I mentioned earlier, the Grand Irrationality is not in play in this Lunation, but will be in less than two weeks when Mercury transits through the Gemini zone of that configuration and makes a biseptile to Neptune and a triseptile to Pluto. Occurring after the Great Fracturing indicated by the Grand Mutable Cross, this will allow everyone to move in a new direction, or at the very least, order what’s left of the old into a new plan that will pick up speed as Mars goes direct.
If you’re new to the site, briefly, the Grand Irrationality in play for over 20 years, and it has affected various generations at different times. Everyone has been touched at some point in huge ways. Spirit walks with this configuration, as well as any major septile series aspect between the planets.
The choices we make as a result of these non-rational aspects show us our “direction of destiny,” and determines if the Spirit will grow stronger and closer with you, or if you will move in directions away from Spirit. Given that most of this community is intentionally trying to live in harmony with Life, Nature, and each other, chances are that whatever you – yes, YOU the reader – are confronting will show you a deeper, richer, more powerful Spiritual life. Which is a good thing.
Other Factors of Note
This is the eighth Full Moon with the North Node in Virgo. Let’s take a look back at what we’ve been learning from past North Node transits.
When the North Node was in Scorpio between September 2012 and February 2014 we went through a long wave Scorpio process of learning to “shed skins,” and let go of echoes of memories of perceptions by taking a new look at what we used to believe. Factoring in the November 2013 Scorpio Solar Eclipse, we’ve all been learning “gain through loss,” so that we could have faith, go deeper, and receive impressions from higher planes.
The Saturn in Scorpio focus between October 2012 and December 2014 that we revisited last Summer helped us intensify our striving in structured ways so we can unveil the life Mystery we’ve been chasing for quite a while. This anchored a deeper emotional stability and magnetism in those who have done the hard work of making Saturn your friend.
During the months of Saturn in Scorpio, we incorporated the old North Node in Scorpio lessons into our ongoing responses to life. Saturn also taught us to see a) how we have shifted our magnetism on relationships since then, and/or b) how we need to find a new view or way of understanding the losses and eliminations of the past we’ve been through.
The North Node in Libra symbolized our line of greatest development from Feb 2014 through November 2015. Therefore, the lessons we learned when Saturn was in Libra between 2009 and 2012 were sources of great development during 2014-2015.
Since November 2015, the North Node has been in Virgo, where we are getting pulled to growth through Virgo emphases. This is helping us grow via the Saturn in Virgo lessons we experienced between September 2007 and July 2010. Because Jupiter is still in close conjunction with the North Node in this chart, those who learned their Saturn lessons well back then are finding truth and/or opportunities of expanding in that direction.
Because Jupiter and the North Node are conjunct in Virgo, we can move into great growth by having faith in practical methods, higher forms of service, learning about health on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, and moving into whatever “venerable standards” Saturn helped us choose to live as an example to others back in 2009. “Expansive attention to detail,” or being educated by experimenting with social service could describe this conjunction.
Element Balance
Of the traditional 10 planets, there are 3 planets in Fire signs, 3 in Water, 2 in Earth, and 2 in Air. This indicates a preponderance of Fire (inspiration) and Water (feeling), with a slightly lesser emphasis on Earth (Practicality) and Air (communicating).
This indicates a balance between inspiration and feeling, and a related balance between relatedness and practicality. Since this Lunation marks the end of the preponderance of Air, we’ll be short on that element until Jupiter enters Libra in September. And we will have a LOT of fire in a few weeks when Mercury and Venus enter Leo, and August will bring a preponderance of Earth, with major conjunctions of Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter coming toward the end of that month.
Air and Earth are “cool” elements, while Fire and Water are “hot” elements. With this distribution, feelings will slightly high, with the practicality of the Earth trine keeping things grounded. Because Mercury in Gemini rules the Sun, and Jupiter in Virgo rules the Moon and Jupiter is ruled by Mercury, the Earth and Air elements are very prominent.
More on how Uranus Square Pluto Has Ramped Up Radical Energies!
As I’ve mentioned off and on over the past 4+ years, we’re all learning to manage the “out of control” energies of Uranus square Pluto. They are certainly major players in the global collision of ideas at this point in history, and from time to time will be at the forefront of the hard edge of the conflict between control systems and the forces of individualization that are calling everyone to a greater spiritual individuality.
Even though the exact square is past, we’re still dealing with the “mundane square” between Aries and Capricorn. These two planets are now in a trielftile, showing they’ve taken us out of the dynamic square and into a spiritualizing relationship where we have to find a synthesis of understanding despite the dualities of the friction.
Their angular relationship grows wider until October when they again begin to re-trigger the square. By late October they’ll be 96+ degrees apart, and by Dec-Jan they’ll be 93 degrees apart. This sets up a “dual-pulse friction” for the next few months, since as planets move through mid to late Cancer over the next few weeks, each will oppose Pluto and then make a square to Uranus about a week later.
By October when the inner planets move through Libra, Uranus will be 98 degrees wide from Pluto, but the planets making the square to Pluto followed a week later by the opposition to Uranus will “collect the light” and bring the T back into play, throwing the void into Cancer. Pay attention in July, find the right balance, proportion, or sense of fairness, and it will help you navigate October.
I’ve discussed this aspect at length in many articles in the archives. Please use the site google box to find out more about this years’ long disruptive revolutionary influence. Welcome to the 21st century of upheaval, transformation, and titanic collisions between a new world being born and an old age that’s digging in even as it’s dying.
That square represents the ongoing revolution of our times, with innovations and pioneering energies in conflict with restrictive and controlling power structures. We’ve been dealing with this for a few years, and it certainly introduced us all to a very “electric and eclectic” revolution unlike any seen since the 1960s!!
Uranus is now moving through a span of degrees it hasn’t transited since 1932-1934. Given what was happening then and the parallels to what’s going on now, stay alert to those who are impatient or petulant in wanting to change things in a hurry, as well as those who are willing to wage ideological war against others. There are promises to be redeemed later this year, as well as greater ones in 2017, but using blunt force to push will destroy the good that could come.
Saturn was trine Uranus earlier this year, but moved back to a brief quadraelftile in late May on its way to making its current sesquisquare. This will prevail in June, July, and August, and promises substantial “fire by friction” for the world. This will spur us all to mobilize in some way, under the pressure of an influx of spiritual energies that will reshape all our perceptions. By September when Mars moves through Sag and trines Uranus, we should see things in motion related to the promises to be redeemed in 2017.
By late September Saturn and Uranus will again be in quadraelftile, and by mid-October approaching their long term trine. This Fire trine will predominate all of late 2016 through 2017, and then they slip into an Earth trine in 2018. Great for blending the old and the new, the innovative with the structure!
Saturn trine Uranus shows a time when there is a possibility of harmonizing the old with the new. It indicates a time when what’s established can accept innovations and individualizing impulses to open doors to a wider effectiveness in the future. This one takes what is possible and synthesizes it within a greater law of uniqueness or pioneering initiatives.
The Fire trine opens heart fires, and over the long run we’ll see this aspect unleashing a new type of artistic intensity, even for those who are not artists. The trine earlier in 2016 set an inspirational pattern wherever we have the middle degrees of the Fire signs in our charts, and this will take clearer shape from October 2016 on through December 2017.
Pluto has now finished its years of teaching us harmlessness, kindness, and magnetism that brings forth a more gentle set of interactions through the deeper transformations going on in our lives. Keep purifying yourself in every way, since the less sludge we carry forward the lighter and freer we’ll feel.
As we learn to master Uranus square Pluto, we will be able to see the true causes of any social disorder, constructive versus destructive justifications and motives, and see where mistrust and mischief-making originate. This allows us to grow into a greater power when we’re confronted by old Pluto roles, coercions, and heavy-handed corrosive behavior. We can use the square between Uranus and Pluto in two big ways, both now and into the future.
We can exercise good Pluto function to put the brakes on negative Uranian manifestations, and good Uranus function to put the brakes on negative Pluto manifestations. Look to the harmonizing aspects to each to show which is building and which one is the release point for those energies. In this chart, Uranus is specializing many things in everyone’s lives, so go with the new rather than the established.
Thinking, then Deciding, then Feeling with an Overview of the Lunation
We’ve been through several different sequences over the past few months. There are six patterns, and each has their strengths and weaknesses. This one is a different pattern than the one offered by the recent New Moon, and the same as the Solstice.
As a process of moving through events, the most effective “firing sequence” for approaching life and experience involves leading with our thinking, communicating, understanding, and envisioning, and following that with making decision and doing the actions needed to develop those ideas or visions. However, after you make a decision or do an action, don’t just go back to more thinking, but instead move into your feelings about the decision you’ve just made, or the action you’ve just done.
So lead with your vision, understanding, and what’s being communicated, and then do the decisions and actions you’ve been shown. Then after the decision or action, sit with the feelings and experience them, bringing them to the surface of your consciousness and get clear about what you’re feeling and why.
That will lead you back to new information, new vision, new ideals, and new understanding upon which you can do your next set of decisions and actions. Then again name what you’re feeling. That way nothing will get bottled up through underuse, and you can move through experiences with power and clarity.
Our sense of purpose can keep a lot integrated in the next few months despite the multiple fractures we’ve been through. This continues to be a time of “favorable disintegration,” and by the time Mars goes direct in late June we will not feel as blocked as we have in the past.
Use the balance you’ve been generating or confronting since the New Moon, and go with the sense of responsibility you’re experiencing to utilize the many gifts available over the next two weeks. This is a time of high specialization and interactive blessings. Now that Mars is on the degree where it will go stationary direct in a few days, much will move forward, intensifying when Mars re-enters Sagittarius in August, so you may want to regard this as a preparatory time. Anticipate what’s coming, anticipate what actions you will have to do, and be at peace as you continue to cultivate character.
With Jupiter making its final trine to Pluto, we now understand why we’ve had to let go of some things and people, as well as what we still have to let go of. Because a full glass cannot take in new contents, but an empty glass can be filled, from time to time we must create space in the material, emotional, mental, and spiritual parts of our life so we can embrace new actions, feeling responses, thoughts, and spiritual practices in the next season.
Because life seems to be a never-ending experience of out-breathing elements of the past and in-breathing elements of the new, it is useful to remember that when we are moving through major changes, when something is introduced into our lives, something else must leave, or has already left, to provide space for the new to be embraced. And lesser wisdom must give way to greater wisdom, and old forms give way to newer realities.
While sometimes having to say goodbye to older, lesser ways of life can be a drag, it is important to remember that even though life can occasionally be painful, we do not have to suffer. And as we learn to break the link between pain and suffering, we heal our part of humanity and the world.
For your contemplation, a final meditation I offer each month at the end of our Full Moon journey of exploration.
We are Light. All things are composed of Light in various frequencies that express as limitless forms. Some light frequencies are of greater density than others.
All shadows result from light hitting a dense object. Psychological shadows too. Therefore, it’s good to become as translucent and translucid as possible to dispel lurking shadows.
If you must look at and/or deal with shadows, whether your own or another’s, then refocus your Light on the object being illuminated, since that form is the source of the shadow.
Find the correct 4 angles of illuminating whatever you want to focus on, and all shadows will be dispelled. Then you’re seeing things with an illuminated mind, and can act accordingly.

Once again, thanks Robert for the three post on this Full Moon in Gemini. Brilliant information and very clear too. In my case, it does provide a good "X Ray" view of what is perceived and lived individually and by the collective.
Blessings are to all.
