The Full Moon of Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius this month has been called “almost an eclipse” because there won’t be a significant shadow. That is reserved for the third Lunar Eclipse this year coming with Sun in Virgo and Moon in Pisces on September 16-17, which is the Harvest Moon. That one should be spectacular during Moonrise at sunset!

The Perseid Meteor Shower May Be Spectacular This Year

Or so the International Meteor Association says. Rather than the usual 50-100 per hour, they're saying it could be 150-200 per hour this year. They are supposed to peak this Thursday evening into Friday morning. However, the Moon will be bright Thursday evening, so the best view is after midnight.
