Jupiter Stationary Retrograde in February 2017 at 24 Libra – From Here We Look Back and Recalibrate

On February 5 at 10:52 pm PST, February 6 at 6:52 am GMT, Jupiter went stationary retrograde at 24 Libra and will remain retrograde until early June when it will go direct at 14 Libra. What does this mean?

First, it means that the Jupiter in Libra adventure we’ve been doing since last September has now hit a high water mark, and we will begin to review all the Jupiter related things that have come up since November, when Jupiter went into its shadow zone for the first time. Since then we’ve gotten a look at the span between 14 and 24 Libra, and now get another look at that same span of experience, but from a retrograde angle instead of a direct angle.

This span involves the individual, mental, and spiritual section of the Scene of Transfiguration, and both the actional, material, and physical level and the emotional, social, and cultural level of the Scene of Reconstruction. When Saturn was in this span from November 2010 through April 2011 and again between July and November 2011 we had a solid pattern set in our lives wherever we have that span in Libra. Now we can a) see the connecting links related to how the long wave Saturn in Libra lessons forged what we have grown into since last November, and b) get a different angle on the Jupiter in Libra truths we’ve embraced, and recalibrate our Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces sectors.

We now review the potentials, protections, blessings, opportunities, and newer, more expansive ways of seeing and expressing ourselves in relationships, or way of being balanced as we move through our world. We now have come to a new sense of perspective or proportion in our life interests, and can adjust on the basis of seeing the past with new eyes.

This should bring a sense of confidence and well-being for those who have embraced the inner relationship adventure Jupiter in Libra has offered us. We now can take a new look at what has opened for us, with the theme of 24 Libra paramount for what we are to learn from now through next Summer. As this was the degree of the Sun during the Full Moon of October 2016, you can bet there will be direct Jupiter connections to that Lunation.

The degree for 24th degree of Libra is "A third wing on the left side of a butterfly.” In "the Astrology of Personality," where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 24 Libra is said to be a symbol of “Potentiality of new forms and opportunities in every life” and “instinctive expansion of self; or submergence in the not-self.”

In the Astrological Mandala, he says this degree involves “the ability to develop for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations.” He states “the butterfly is the ancient and traditional symbol of the results of the process of spiritual rebirth. If the butterfly has three wings instead of two, a special development of an aspect of the spiritual life is shown. Three is a symbol of fulfillment.”

He offers this means a power is added to the normal transformational process, and “the left side” is the “instinctual field of consciousness, but “it’s also the heart side.” He speaks of the potential for a new strength, or some technique which could constitute an “original mutation.” He says it falls in the span of Revelation and it’s the technique degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Reconstruction in the Act of Group Integration.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the degree is one of “the illimitable potentiality” and of the rewards that result from retaining our “own unconditioned uniqueness of make-up” and we are “alert to whatever opportunities arise” in our world which allow our “own special destiny to fulfill itself.” He speaks of “fundamental affinities of all differentiation as these …. Make their particular contribution to human experience.”

He offers us the keyword of DISTINCTIVENESS. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "an idealistic originality and a high facility in quick analysis.

So we enter a 4 month period of seeing the expansive principle and the truths it opens as a technique allowing us to develop new ways of responding to emergent heart strengths, in the realms where we have already fulfilled some emotional or social repair or reconstruction. This is the promise of reconstructing a primal connection with Life to achieve a form of life renewal that transforms our ego.

As it now recedes from its sextile to Saturn and reactivates its opposition to Uranus and square to Pluto, the Cardinal T is back in play! Cancer energy needs to be used constructively these next few months, and promises powerful personality integration tools for those who have planets between 17-26 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Mars will bring this energy to a head at the end of February and beginning of March, so move forward or retreat, consolidate or gather as you need, and know that your needs will be supplied if you don’t clutch at obsolete things.

Thank you very much for this understanding of Jupiter at 24' Libra. Jupiter (SR)is currently quincunx my natal Jupiter, exactly. Meanwhile, Uranus has been in exact conjunction with my natal Chiron. I've never been more compelled to be exactly who I know I should be. While I've not ever seen so many circumstances in my life demand at once that I stand up for myself (especially with manipulative co-workers and acquaintances who've been violently insisting I am who their fears need/project me to be). Though, I'd rather retreat, I do not foresee that happening.
