We are now in the eye of the storm of Jupiter square Pluto! Today we look at the past to know what we will be dealing with for several weeks to come!
This is the second of three squares Jupiter is making to Pluto from Libra. The first square was made by Jupiter in direct motion in November 2016 from 16 Libra to Pluto at 16 Capricorn. This square is occurring now with Jupiter retrograde at 20 Libra to Pluto at 20 Capricorn. The third square will occur in early August from 18 Libra to Pluto at 18 Capricorn.
Generally speaking, Jupiter square Pluto is a volatile type of friction between the expansive generosity and adventure of Jupiter and “Lord of the Underworld” Pluto. It is said that with Jupiter square Pluto, coercive and dishonest elements may “make their play.” Beware of people and situations that are unfair, cruel, out of balance, or potentially explosive. Remember to keep it honest, and stay focused on accomplishing what you can despite unstable conditions.
Other possible lessons involve not being deflected into schemes and views that work against your best interests, and keep everything open and above board when dealing with others. It can also put the brakes on old corrosive influences, and bring life back into balance and equilibrium. Whatever seems to be bursting out is indicative of whether extremes need to be moderated, or harmony being restored.
This square can bring “opportunities” that are not opportunities, or the emergence of life transforming expansions or adventures. Everything depends on how your expansive view works with economy of energy, or violates that Divine Law. This could bring major turning points in what opportunities will present themselves in the future, so keep your imagination open to possibilities while avoiding getting suckered into things that are not in your best interests or could take you out on dangerous tangents.
The effect will be most obvious in Jupiter ruled houses (those with Sagittarius and Pisces on the cusp), and will impact planets we may have in those signs. Pluto, on the other hand, indicates more of a long wave spiritual influence, and so the houses it rules (those with Aries and Scorpio on the cusps) are in a long term restructuring via Pluto’s occupancy of Capricorn. This waning square has brought some of those transformational energies to culmination in the houses where we have mid-Libra and mid-Capricorn.
The waning square is culminative, and marks the fulfillment of the Jupiter/Pluto cycle that began with their conjunction at 29 Sagittarius in December 2007. From here, Jupiter will be in the “harvest sector” of the cycle through their next conjunction in 2020, when they’ll conjunct three times in the span of a few months. The first will be in April at Pluto’s retrograde station at 25 Capricorn, the second will be when Jupiter is retrograde at the end of June, also at 25 Capricorn, and the third time will be in November at 23 Capricorn (the same degree of a Saturn conjunct Pluto in Jan 2020!)
So this cycle began a long wave period of learning to “get in shape” in some way since 2008. The waxing (lower) square to Pluto first occurred in the Summer of 2010 at 4 Aries and again in Feb 2011 at 8 Capricorn. Astute astrologers will note that the square in the Summer of 2010 also had the added elements of Mars conjunct Saturn in early Libra and Jupiter conjunct Uranus in early Aries, creating an axis of tensional awareness with Pluto as the driver of the T-square. That marked a huge emergent turning point in the Jupiter/Pluto cycle.
When any planet makes a waxing ("lower") square to another planet, it brings forth emergent forms that then show the "ground" for other changes related to that cycle in the future. Squares can bring friction, but also the turning of corners and/or putting the brakes on something.
Pluto represents the Divine Seeds of Eternal Transformation, and in Capricorn shows the major changes going on in all organized systems governed by rules. During the period between the conjunction and waxing square, Pluto was sitting at the Galactic Center, which began a very long wave birthing of new galactic seeds here on Earth.
At that time, the entire world began a new life order that will last for about 250 years. I wrote extensively about it at the time, and there are numerous articles in the archives about the long term changes implied by Pluto conjunct the Galactic Center. These “seed forms” are now well established, and both the positive and negative associations with these can be seen by looking at the major transformations that have happened in our world since then.
The cycle “broke the surface” when Jupiter opposed Pluto in 2013-2014, marking the end of the first half of the cycle and the beginning of the second half of the cycle. The first opposition was in August 2013 from 10 Cancer to Pluto at 10 Capricorn, the second opposition was in late January 2014 from 13 Cancer to 13 Capricorn, and the final opposition was in April 2014 from 14 Cancer to 14 Capricorn. As Jupiter was conjunct the Star Sirius, the “Sun of our Sun,” the entire world got a major teaching at that time.
We now are navigating the second waning square. The waning square also marks a quadrant shift, but those changes represent a turning away from further upreaching, and the beginning of a harvest period that lasts through the next conjunction. I explain these crucial stages in “the Whole Cycle” involving conjunctions, squares, and oppositions in my new book “Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend.” The principles introduced there offer a quick practical reference for how these important stages develop and reveal the themes of their respective cycles, and offer ways to understand these life-changing points in time to become more aware of our power to shape the future.
Those people most affected will be those with natal or progressed planets to a few degrees of either side of this square, i.e., anyone with planets between 17-23 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. This marks a point of fulfillment, where the future promise and harvests must be steered with a sense of pioneering initiative as well as a balanced sense of proportion, the willingness to go one’s own way and do one’s own thing as you and only you know how to do it, and an eye to priority of needs.
Even though the square will be exact for the next week or so, this energy will continue to pervade the atmosphere for many weeks until it’s finally past in September 2017. Persevere, and keep your wits about you as you navigate life’s tides during this very volatile time.
Since Jupiter could be termed “extravagant speech,” be aware when things are being blown out of proportion, or there is a false equivalence being thrown out there. Just because someone may say something to you or about you doesn’t make it true. Remember your higher agenda, and don't worry about what others think as long as you're taking the high road.
Again, don’t take any unnecessary risks or gambles, and stay balanced as you move through these weeks. We had two recent eclipses that are already clearing out what we no longer need, helping us quicken in our quest for be more effective in expressing social or emotional energies. With this square active in the recent New Moon, be receptive to Eastern Wisdom energies, attune to the highest levels of aspiration, and see the seeds of roles you can play that will lead to you being happier.
This square happening with Venus retrograde and Mercury slowing to go retrograde can help us to a valuable understanding of how something BIG is culminating. Here we can take an interest in a more permanent wisdom, and find happiness in fulfilling a role we can enjoy in association with others.
Join with others and BE a more fulfilling role in the world. As we see clearly what is in our best interests and refuse to be seduced by dishonest offers and points of view, we can BE a more effective and genuine expression of our Higher Self, and relax into a comfortably integrated personality. This promises a great happiness for those who see a more authentic future and new way of embracing the adventure of being a Spirit in the material world as we rock on down to the Grand Mutation of 2020!

In just a few days I'll have the first exact conjunction of Pluto to my Moon at 19'19 Capricorn in the 9th house,so Jupiter is squaring the conjunction. So far there is none of the gravitational shifts that I've experienced with other Pluto transits, but I'm trying to be aware and take good care of myself. I greatly value your appreciate your insights, as always! Best wishes to you, Robert.

Robert, With Jupiter retrograde and nearing Sun opposition [April 13th] to its station retrograde which was Feb. 6th at 24 degrees Libra, it is indeed a time to maintain faith and trust. Our hopes and desires may have been put on 'hold' while we explore and deepen our wisdom; during this time they may present again with some intensity. Jupiter expands and also inflates. You've wisely recommended a conservation of expectations and extensions. Patience is needed for the remainder of the retro phase until Jupiter turns direct June 19th. Then as well we benefit from caution and prudence as excitement about possibilities may interfere with our clarity.

Talking of magic...and gifts...
Because truth is tragic the GOOD news will come first
we awaken to the magic of a purple circle's birth...
Time, LOVE and Talent bring new currencies
The planet will be Happy and the people will be free
The purple circle and her workers in healing harmony...
