This impacts the planets and houses where we have Gemini, Virgo, and Scorpio, and begins a new phase of discovering, exploring, and processing information.
After a long stay in Leo and Virgo and a short stay in Libra, Mercury finally leaves that sign on October 17 at 12:59 am PDT, 7:59 BST and enters Scorpio. That means Mercury, or the Guide of Souls that helps us coordinate the many facets of our existence, will no longer express its energy through moderate and reasonable Libra, and now moves into the depth intensity of Scorpio. It should be great for getting focused and seeing clearly what is needed and what is not in any given situation.
Mercury in Scorpio will help us uncover whatever needs to be seen or known, and its ability to probe beneath the surface of things, especially in the near future when it’s quintile and sextile Pluto in Capricorn, should help us get to the truth of any matter. It’s also going to conjunct Jupiter at 2 Scorpio on October 18, boosting the quintile of Jupiter to Pluto and helping us see the core of things to come. That will set many things into motion that will be vitalized by the Sun in late October and early November.
We should be able to feel a definite shift in all the areas of your life related to planets we have in Gemini or Virgo. This shifts the dispositor of these planets from the Air backdrop to a Water backdrop. This Mercurial sign shift moves us from seeing many sides of any picture to find a balanced view to a penetrating exploration that seeks depth understanding.
This is also where we can purge the mind of impurities and obsolete desires, and learn to “de-magnetize” certain thought patterns. As we release obsolete or corrosive mental patterns, we create a type of “spaciousness” in the mind that will naturally attract more evolved forms in our lives.
When we have mastered our Scorpio energies, we know how to eliminate what is obsolete or no longer needed in our life. Because Nature abhors a vacuum, as we clear out old ideas, feelings, desires, and habits, we naturally attract people and circumstances that mirror who we are in the Here and Now.
Learning how to control our magnetism and “hold the emptiness” allows us to attract the highest good for who we are now, if we have cultivated how to attract that and are open to that highest good to come. Along the way, we find that also involves letting go of impatience to see new forms before the time is ripe. We are a work in progress, and sometimes it takes a while before we can receive what is our divine due.
Anyway, welcome to Mercury in Scorpio! As it’s moving very fast right now, it’s only going to be in Scorpio until November 5, when it enters Sag. That means all Mercury ruled things should be moving along quite nicely for the next few weeks, with lots of activities, communications, and insights presenting themselves. And of course, it will bring many signs and signals to any planets we may have in Scorpio.

Is this why I suddenly felt like bursting into tears a couple of hours ago?
