As you know, I coined the term “the Grand Irrationality” many years ago to describe the Neptune septile Pluto in play from 1992-2018. It has now morphed into “The Grand Irrationality V.2.” with the departure of Neptune from the septile and the arrival of Uranus biseptile Pluto. It’s now being activated by Jupiter!
The first appearance of the forming Uranus biseptile Pluto was during July, August, and September 2017. The second biseptile has been in play between June and November 2018. Each time any other planet has transited any of the 7 “hot zones” related to this configuration it sets destiny on the march for all of us! At this time, the zones are approximately 26-30 Scorpio, 17-21 Capricorn, 9-13 Pisces, 30 Aries-4 Taurus, 21-25 Gemini, 13-17 Leo, and 5-9 Libra.
At this time, Jupiter makes its move through the Scorpio zone, setting many things into motion these next 3 weeks! It is septile Pluto and triseptile Uranus during this time, so Jupiter now makes 7th harmonic series aspects to any planets or points we have in the above zones. This will be amped up by Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter at 28 Scorpio, since Mercury will then also septile Pluto and triseptile Uranus.
Of particular importance will be the days when the Moon transits any of these zones, so yesterday’s Moon in Cap conjunct Pluto, septile Jupiter, and biseptile Uranus would have brought forth very important decisions and changes for all who have a planet in those zones. As I have two of those zones active right now, yes, I did have one of the most important and wonderful events in recent history happen yesterday. Extreme good fortune!
A Lunar head’s up is also in play (using PDT) on Oct 20 (Pisces); October 25 (Full Moon at 2 Taurus! Cosmic visitations coming soon!); Oct 28 (Gemini); late Oct 31 (Leo); and Nov 4 (Libra). After that Jupiter leaves the Scorpio zone and enters Sagittarius. I’ll be posting on the Full Moon Grand Irrationality activation as it gets closer, and will post on Jupiter’s entry into Sag just before it moves into the phase shift.
However, just because Jupiter moves on doesn’t mean it has no influence! All the times the Moon sets the configuration into motion set up the Jupiterian promise which will be activated as the Sun and Venus transit the Scorpio zone and activate the promise. For the Sun, it’ll be November 16-22, and for Venus, the first 5 days of January. The Moon will be in the Pisces zone on Nov 16, and the Aries/Taurus zone on Nov 20. Very important developments then!
Another huge activator is Mars will transit the Pisces zone the last 4 days of November and the first week of December. During that period the Moon activates the configuration on Nov 27-28 (Leo) and Dec 1 (Libra). All of these periods are important for the world at large, and especially the sectors in our birth charts where the configuration is activated, so lots is getting set into motion over the next 7 weeks.
While Uranus will no longer be within orb of the biseptile to Pluto by late November, any Lunar transit of the zones will still make 7th harmonic aspects to both Uranus and Pluto, just not simultaneously. That will create a “pulse of irrationality” for that period rather than the simultaneous “burst” tone.
This will continue with subsequent inner planet transits through the zones until Uranus is again biseptile Pluto May through December 2019. It continues off and on in 2020, with Jupiter again involved through its conjunction with Pluto and biseptile to Uranus between late February and late March 2020.
During those periods Mars will activate everything in early May 2019 (Gemini), late July-early August (Leo), October (Libra) and late December (Scorpio). The last transit is particularly significant since it’ll be the first Mars transit through Scorpio since Jupiter’s occupancy, thus triggering all the Jupiter potential and promise of this time.
So if exciting or important things are coming down now and in the coming weeks, take a look at how Jupiter is configuring with other planets in your chart. Any prior logjam is now being dissolved, with maximum flow and expansion in the near future!

Hi Robert. Thank you for the insightful article as always. I likely misunderstood, but is it Pluto Neptune septile or sextile? In my chart (1969) for example it’s within a degree from sextile...

Hi Dan - Neptune was septile Pluto in the mid-to-late 1930s and very early 1940s, then moved into the sextile from the 1940s through 1990s. They've been in septile since then, but are now separating from that and creating another sextile which will last many years.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the heads up and insight. But I have a question: If an outer planet in the birth chart is in one of those zones, do planets in aspect to that outer planet also get triggered by the Grand Irrationality?
I have Mars, MC, and Pluto in three different zones. (I also have a tight Sun sq Pluto in my chart). Things are definitely spinning up. I just hope I can realize a real benefit.

Hi bomega - Of course. Each planet is a hub of its own influence, so while one planet may have irrational pressure put on it, b/c of the aspects it makes it could lead to a choice or change that is very beneficial, or specializing, or helps us turn a corner in a needed life area.
In your chart, it's affecting how you do things, your sense of public flowering, and your deepest transformational power. Benefits are three ways: direct benefits, indirect benefits, and the benefit of expected or unexpected problems not materializing. I had an amazing offer out of the blue that's perfect for my wife and I but it will require willingness to mobilize and undergo a bit of inconvenience in the short run for a long term benefit.

Robert,
Thanks again for this analysis and explanation. This morning I noticed that on the days listed above when the Moon transits these zones, I have been having dreams that verge on altered states of consciousness (I think one of those days, I took a nap in the middle of the day, which is rare for me, and had this experience.) Still hoping to realize a much-needed direct benefit, but am hopeful.
