Neptune went stationary retrograde at 19 Pisces on June 21 at 7:36 am PDT, 3:36 pm BST. What does this mean and how will it impact us?
When any of the planets go stationary retrograde, it marks a “forward station” in the pulse of that planet and the part it symbolizes in our personality (lower triad) or Spiritual Body (Upper Triad). The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are mainly associated with our personality, while Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are mainly associated with our connection with society and our larger aspirations and duties.
The outer “Invisible Quartet,” Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and TransPluto, show us the Transpersonal realms of existence. (While Uranus is occasionally very faintly observable, for all practical purposes it’s invisible to most.) Uranus individualizes us, and Neptune helps us move and groove within collective consciousness. Pluto shows us what must be purified to the core so we may know our Divine Power of eternal regeneration, and TransPluto shows us how to redeem growth after decay, and new life after a period of death or dormancy.
Any of these outermost planets going stationary retrograde indicates a threshold state in the Transpersonal energy field. Since we’re dealing here with Neptune going retrograde, and Neptune symbolizes collective consciousness and all it likes, supposes, and wonders about, we now enter a time when the collective atmosphere now reviews parts of what it explored and dreamed into manifestation since it last went direct at 14 Pisces in November 2018.
Neptune represents what is “in fashion” in the collective. Different cultures and subcultures interpret this global pulse in different ways. The Sabian Symbol for 19 Pisces is “A master instructing his pupil.” In his masterwork The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 19 Pisces is said to symbolize “Release from race karma,” and “transmutation of everyday facts into intelligence.”
In his Astrological Mandala he states this is a degree of “the transfer of power and knowledge which keeps the original spiritual and creative Impulse of the cycle active and undeviated.” He says this is “the supreme technique necessary for the continuation of all manifestations of power and spiritual understanding. The transmission is from person to person; it follows a general, unchanging pattern, yet it operates in terms of particular and individual circumstances.” He offers us the keyword of Investiture, and says this degree falls in the Span of Protection, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Perpetuation on the Actional-Physical level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of "the unlimited potentiality of existence in any larger dimension,” where our intelligence demands “self-refinement and self-orientation” to find a greater understanding. Here life encourages our “initiative of spirit” by which we find life’s bounty.
He goes on to say that our "personality comes into its own as it is able to direct its own destiny.” He offers the keyword ELUCIDATION, and states that when operating positively, the degree is "high executive ability through patient investigation and genuine psychological insight.”
So we now begin to review all we’ve experienced since last November within that vast “feeling field” known as Neptune. This review will last through late November 2018, when Neptune will go stationary direct at 16 Pisces. At that point we will again trace the span between 16-19 Pisces, and will know what we have mastered, as we move into a new collective field of awareness by late March 2020.
Neptune has been in the second decan of Pisces since January 2017, so the emphasis is firmly established in the Moon-Jupiter influence of the second decan of Pisces. As Uranus transited the span between 16 Pisces and 19 Pisces several times between March 2007 and December 2008, much of what we can expect during the second half of 2019 will in some way echo or be related to what was awakened in collective consciousness back then.
When any of the outers go retrograde or direct, it shows as major “sea changes” in the global field. Neptune going retrograde will affect that part of our Hologram that interfaces with the collective field. Up to now, we’ve all been “introduced to the Sanctuary” where our minds were opened to a greater Spiritual realm, and subsequent lessons required us to “prove our qualifications” to hold the spiritual energy of our “spiritual office.” That led to lessons in courage, finding appropriate “camouflages” for our public work, and a willingness to “rehearse before the battle,” “subjecting appearances to real necessities.”
These were the themes of 2016, 2017, and early 2018. We’ve been learning and/or teaching these things wherever we have mid-Pisces in our charts, and will now take a new look at themes related to 18, 17, and 16 Pisces, which involve revising some of our ideas “back to source,” and/or putting oneself out in public to inspire others. Other themes involve getting away from the routine to get an new inspiration, and participating in forms of collective rebirth.
So the tide has turned again! If it’s time to sail, beware the storms of the non-stop gear grind from the Uranus semisquare Neptune activated by Jupiter square Neptune and sesquisquare Uranus. This is “cutting, grinding, and polishing” us for future usefulness. At the same time, learn to enjoy Saturn sextile Neptune through December, as this very productive sextile gives us an accelerated pace of learning practical intuition to further our higher purposes in the future.
Jupiter will square Neptune through October, so get and stay focused, and overcome any tendency to drift by seeing how to give things an occasional nudge so they’re in your continued interests. Be adaptable and practice with an eye to details, reorienting as needed when acquiring “seed knowledge.”
Because of how these combined aspects work, use the coming months to expunge fear, obsolete distractions, and drifting to lose focus or get turned around in the fog. We have begun a long term social rebirth since this time last year, done our dress rehearsals, and now can receive wisdom from our Master and/or Higher Triad. Take “walks with your wisdom” over the next year, and occasionally tune out the white noise of outer things and listen to the Voice of the Silence which can teach you the Wisdom you need.
Since February 2019, Neptune left the first half of Pisces for the next century, and moved into the second half of Pisces, where it will be until January 2026 when it moves into Aries for the long run. We now have left the “Span of Innocence” and “Scene of Federation” which we’ve explored since April 2011, and have begun to experience the “Span of Protection” and “Scene of Perpetuation” which are the themes of the last half of Pisces.
The span between 16 and 20 Pisces is said to be “actional,” so regard the next year as a need for proper Neptunian activity which protects and perpetuates the best of the current vision. Between now and November, it’s a time to review our best means of self-expression and the social renewals we’ve experienced as we return to why we’ve needed quiet time to receive inspirations. This “shadow zone” material subject to multiple passes will be front and center until March 2020.
We are in a time of powerful spiritual growth into our authentic power; be patient, organized, and mature, and you will find you have accomplished many things which will support your renewed efforts in September. These prepare us for what is to come in early 2020 with numerous sextiles made from planets in Capricorn, followed by septiles, activating the next iteration of “The Grand Irrationality.” This will be followed by Mars conjunct Neptune in June 2020 at 21 Pisces, Neptune’s retrograde station, which activates a new collective Neptunian theme related to the social and cultural dimensions of that planetary influence.
