Peter Fonda (February 23, 1940 – August 16, 2019) is dead. Actor, counterculture star, and unhappy man, he acted in a bunch of movies, some strange and others wonderfully memorable including The Wild Angels, the Trip, Easy Rider, and “Ulee’s Gold.” By the mid-1960s, he was using LSD regularly, and hung with the Byrds and the Beatles. The line "I know what it's like to be dead" in "She Said She Said" came from Peter describing the time in childhood he shot himself and almost died. He also was in the Sunset Strip riots which Steven Stills memorialized in "For What It's Worth". RIP wild man.
