On September 18, Saturn will go stationary direct at 14 Capricorn. It now moves forward to make anew the serendipitous tredecile with Uranus in October and November, and then makes the second of three fateful biseptiles between these two spiritual heavyweights in December 2019 and January 2020.
The Dance of Saturn and Uranus
We’ve now moved from a beneficial trine between Saturn and Uranus in play November 2016 through November 2018 into the complex aspect zone of the tredecile and biseptile. In 2017-2018 we stabilized a new Light, a new Life, a new inspiration, and a new way of blending the old with the new, as well as ways to innovate life structures so they allow for more freedom and individuality.
Since then we’ve had highly specialized gifts and circumstances present themselves according to how spiritually mature our response has been to the challenges of innovating our life structures and structuring new forms of expressed individuality. The first tredecile was in early 2018, the next was Dec 2018-Jan 2019, the third was in June and July, and the final one will be October and early November 2019. These periods are showing you creative interactive genius, uniqueness, and specialized gifts and circumstances perfect for your Saturn-Uranus understanding.
The first biseptile from Saturn to Uranus was January through May 2019, which began the crystallization by Saturn of the seeds of the Uranus biseptile Pluto already planted in the past. This is a major fork in the road of destiny, but with Saturn, it is made visible in the world. While Pluto’s influence is invisible, Saturn’s is highly visible. The next biseptile between Saturn and Uranus will occur in December 2019 and early January 2020. The final one will occur non-stop between July and November 2020, when the destiny of the world will be on the line!
As the next biseptile between Uranus and Pluto will occur between October 2019 and mid-June 2020, that period will be most volatile in terms of world events, as well as crucial choices and changes in our lives related to Capricorn and Taurus sectors, as well as all things related to Aquarius in our chart. Interestingly, Uranus and Pluto are in tredecile between June and early November 2020, make another biseptile between November 2020 and May 2021, with the final one between late Dec 2021 and mid-April 2022.
Lessons of this part of the Zodiac
Now that Saturn is again in forward motion, it will re-trace ground it covered since it went stationary retrograde in April 2019 at 21 Capricorn. To recap, we’ve been preparing for new group activity where we can demonstrate cooperation and new ways of being effective in the social realm. Since then, Saturn has been structuring or re-structuring all of Pluto’s seeds planted when it transited 14 through 21 Capricorn in 2016, 2017, and 2018. You can find out a lot more of the larger dance of Saturn in this crucial time period by taking a new look at Saturn Stationary Retrograde in April 2019 at 21 Capricorn – Preparing For Future Group Work
The area between 14 and 21 Capricorn deals with crystallization of power on an individual, philosophical, or spiritual level, claiming power in a publicly responsible way, as well as group activity in the actional/personal realm and the emotional, social, and cultural realms. We experienced Saturn’s first transit of this span between January and April 2019, and are now done with the retrograde phase where we got a new look at that span from a different angle of approach and understanding. We now get to move forward a third time across this span, demonstrating we’ve learned the lessons our inner Saturn wanted us to learn. Because it’s Saturn, it all relates to our ability to demonstrate maturity, organization, and patience in taking command of our life trajectory.
Saturn occupies its stationary direct degree at 14 Capricorn from September 6 through28th. We now launch from this platform of getting a “valid historical perspective” which allows us to let go of superficial or outmoded lesser things with a sense of what’s important that we want to bring with us into greater group effectiveness. Many things of the past will be put into a larger perspective, and what is truly needed will become more important in the future.
Saturn will be in its 2019 “shadow zone” until it again moves across 21 Capricorn between December 19 and 28, after which it begins its movement through the last third of Capricorn marking the Grand Compression of December through March which will set the Great Mutation in Aquarius into motion at the end of March.
So continue to get a perspective about what’s important and what’s not, especially since recent Virgo conjunctions are being trined by Saturn, assisting a practical and efficient ordering or re-ordering of our priorities and life routines. Show tender care in October, and by the end of that month you’ll find yourself taking action in some new group way. Consider the last week of October through the first 8 days of November an exercise period, preparing you to finish cutting loose from some old inhibitions between November 8-20. Late October and early November should be remarkably productive, so that by December Saturn will have prepared us for more effective activity beginning January 2020.
As noted earlier, it will pass out of its Shadow Zone by December 28, and begin a very intense period of multiple conjunctions with every planet except Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune between January and March 2020. Saturn will be extraordinarily important in all our lives between now and 2024, and so all you can learn about embracing your inner Saturn will help you fulfill everything you need to know to navigate the coming major changes!
For now, we’ll close with something we all learn about making friends with the Saturn power within us so we can fulfill our purpose on Earth.
Saturn symbolizes the universal binding force in Nature, the “Ring Pass Not” of Dharma. Dharma is our “true function,” that overarching Truth of Self that permits all things if they serve Dharma and no thing if it does not serve Dharma. Saturn is our “skin of personality,” the boundaries of what we are able to master, found through the ten thousand things that temporarily enslave us through various types of mental, emotional, or material inertia.Uranus is the Higher Law, Saturn is the worldly law. Uranus helps us break free, break out, and break through the binding force Saturn represents. Saturn helps us give structure through discipline to our eternal discoveries along our Path to Truth. In one esoteric system, Saturn is Divine Understanding, whereas Uranus is Divine Wisdom. Both serve each other in the Great Work each of us is here to do.
As I mentioned before, my book Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend addresses these important evolutionary issues we all deal with throughout our lives. It explores how Saturn relates to Dharma, the “Ring Pass Not,” and various types of Karma, and how we can make friends with our inner Saturn to claim our spiritual individuality. The second part of the work examines the important changes we go through as Saturn conjuncts, squares, and opposes all the planets in our charts as it moves through the houses throughout our lives.
For now, take a look back at what you first encountered in January, February, March and early April, and see how the review since then has helped you get ready for the adventure promised now that Saturn is again direct in motion. This is the Cosmic Timekeeper about to reverse course again and get back on the move, so it’s also time for us to move!
I’ll publish part 2 on this important moment in Cosmic Time on Wednesday. See you then!

I have 12 Cap 15 rising and natal Jupiter at 23 Cap 10. My wife and I are in the midst of planning a major spiritual event for June of 2020. Petal to the metal. Thanks for reminding me of all this.
