We’ve officially entered the wild ride of Sagittarius, even as we have the last Jupiter conjunction in that sign for 11 years! Today we focus on the very powerful aspects going on this weekend!
Today, November 22, the Sun enters Sagittarius. That means for a short time we have three planets in that sign, including the Great Light. This is a threshold state, since this weekend on November 24, Venus conjuncts Jupiter and the Moon conjuncts Mars at the exact time Mars opposes Uranus!
This is a very different combination of energies. The one is unifying, future oriented, and expansive. The other is confrontational, polarized, and fixed. Other powerful aspects in play include the Sun semisquare Saturn and Mercury semisquare Venus and Jupiter, adding an element of internal crisis at the close of old cycles, since these semisquares are both waning.
The Moon, Mars, and Uranus oppositions will be most powerful for those with planets near 2-6 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius and 17-21 Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
The Mercurial semisquare to Venus and Jupiter will be most powerful for those with planets near 11-15 Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, and Leo and 26-30 Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces.
The Solar semisquare to Saturn will be most powerful for those with planets near 1-5 Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo and 16-20 Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, and Libra.
Lest you think there’s nothing but friction, please remember this event can bring high and deep realizations for those who see below the surface of what’s going on. Venus conjunct Jupiter gives us a Venusian year of expansion, “getting in shape,” and preparing for the adventure in this area of our chart when the Sun and Mercury transit 29 Sagittarius to become active when Mars transits 29 Sag in mid-February 2020. This will be very favorable wherever it falls in our charts, and harmonize with planets in the final degrees of Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.
On Saturday preceding the event, the Moon in Libra sextiles Venus and Jupiter, helping us get an understanding of recent karmic repair work related to our being connected within and with our spiritual group, however we define that. And just after the oppositions and conjunctions, we see Moon in Scorpio conjunct Mercury, trine Neptune, sextile Saturn, and sextile Pluto just before Venus enters Capricorn. So the Libra productivity is concentrated in Sunday’s “breakthrough” event(s), followed by Monday’s understanding and productivity as the Moon transits Mercury’s direct station.
This is an "Old Moon" because the Moon is in the last quarter of its phase. That means we're in a time of "before the beginning." The transit from Friday through Monday should help us get a good scan of recent Libra "dues paying" adjustments and all the fusions and reflections and insights from our Scorpio retrograde experience, preparing us for the beginnings promised by the New Moon at 5 Sagittarius on November 26.
So enjoy the ride, from seeing how “dues have been paid” on Saturday to riding the intensity of what’s coming to surface on Sunday leading to understanding on Monday. And don’t underestimate Venus conjunct Jupiter for bringing the promise of even better spiritual relationships than you’ve had before now!

Thanks for the heads up. "Threshold" does feel like the right concept here.

What do you mean with before the beginning? Today I was reading about one of my ancestors; my great-grandfather who died in 1932. I think I was him because I believe in reïncarnation within the family. I was born in 1957 so that was before the beginning. I feel sad when I read about him. But I'm not sure. It's a feeling. I was born during the New Moon so I have the Sun, Moon and Venus in Gemini opposite Saturn retrograde and my North Node is in Scorpio (8th house). I have my MC on 29 degrees of Sagittarius. Sorry for my bad English because I'm Dutch. I read your papers today for the first time.
