As today is Super Tuesday in the US, by tonight a lot of delegates will be awarded to various candidates in their race to be nominated to run for president. We have a sequence of extraordinary aspects in play today, as well as Mercury retrograde!
The earliest polls open in Maine at 6 am, placing the Moon at 21 Gemini. (For the purposes of this article, I’m not including American Samoa, since it literally has almost no effect on what’s happening here on the mainland.)
Venus is exactly square Saturn all day; ordinarily this would be disappointing for women in the race, but throughout the day the Moon moves toward a very favorable sextile to Venus, showing Venus will do better toward the end of the day than the beginning. It’s as though Venus begins with a critical phase shift in its cycle relative to Saturn, but the Moon helps it productively through the day, since it follows the quincunxes with a very favorable sextile to Venus.
Speaking of Venus, we also note that the Sun is exactly semisquare Saturn all day, and Venus is exactly semisquare the Sun all day. Semisquares deal with internal crises, and as the Sun/Saturn and Venus/Saturn aspects are waxing, it indicates this is about emergence rather than fulfillment. This represents a crisis of direction for all players. You can bet this will bring friction to any planets any of the candidates have around 1 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, 12-16 Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius, and 27-30 Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.
It can be inferred from the chart that the just separating Moon in Gemini quincunx Jupiter in Capricorn was the recent departure of Buttijieg and Klobuchar. As Jupiter definitely has something to do with endorsements, and it’s in Capricorn closing in on Pluto and Saturn, it would seem that will bring some slight momentum to the Pluto, but as it goes SRX before making its fateful conjunction with Saturn in a different sign, it would seem this “refranation” will bring a promise but not a resolution.
Mercury retrograde! As usual, expect some degree of confusion and delays, as well as a backward/sideways/forward type of day. As it’s on the degree of “the marketplace,” I find it interesting that election day is a type of “marketplace,” both of ideas and the popularity contest/farce our elections have become.
And now the Moon. It begins with a biquintile to Saturn at 23 Gemini, then a quincunx to Pluto and triseptile to Jupiter at 25 Gemini at 10 am PST. It septiles Uranus at 26 Gemini and then biseptiles the Sun at 27 Gemini, bringing the separating Sun septile Uranus back into play. It crosses the “bankruptcy” degree between 4 pm and 5:45 pm PST, and then quincunxes Saturn 5:30 pm at 28 Gemini before triseptiling Pluto and sextiling Venus an hour later at 29 Gemini.
The polls all close before the Moon enters Cancer, though the Moon will be in the first degrees of that sign when the results come in from California, the last state to vote today. So today the Moon is literally never Void of Course due to the quantity of quincunxes and 7th harmonic aspects made in the final degrees of Gemini. The fact that we have so many 7th harmonic aspects indicates this day’s votes put us all at a turning point, with many people voting who are more irrational than rational.
As per Mercury’s coming SD degree, we’re all about to “graduate into a new realm of being.” Still, because it’s retrograde today in a sign it won’t occupy in just a few hours, it shows today’s results may not indicate what they seem, and that other events will happen which we’ll only know about after a delay of some sort.
I’ll leave you with a final insight: Today Venus is the same degree where Mars will go SRX in September. That implies the Venusian square of today will become the Mars square of the Autumn which will slow down, undo, re-do, or give a new direction to what this Venus square is about. And as I’ve already posted, take note of other Aries squares to the late Capricorn planets in April, since they’ll give us clues about what to expect this Autumn.
[ADD: The Democratic National Convention will be held July 13-16, 2020, in Milwaukee. It opens with Sun opposition Jupiter and Pluto. It ends with the Moon in Gemini conjunct Venus and sextile Mars. In between we also have Mars conjunct Chiron with the Moon in Taurus making all kinds of favorable aspects to the planets in Capricorn. Expect pragmatism to rule the day, even if stubborn people will stay stuck in "I me mine," to quote Saint George the Beatle.]
