Mars conjuncted Jupiter on March 20 at 23 Capricorn. These conjunctions occur about every two years, and initiate a new set of truths, opportunities, and openings wherever they fall in our chart.
As I told you in Astrology in 2020-2021 – Mars Conjunct Jupiter at 23 Capricorn, the last Mars conjunct Jupiter began in January 2018 at 18 Scorpio. Since then, we’ve been in a time when we completed something with excellence which transfigured our lives, or we can now understand that whatever work we did before 2018 led us to the excellence of where we’re at now.
We have now experienced many expansions, truths, and protections in the house where 18 Scorpio falls in our charts. The one before that happened in October 2015 at 15 Virgo, initiating a period of finding and expressing our cultural excellence. You can see how the expansions in our ability to achieve cultural excellence between 2015 and 2017 would yield the transfiguration energy operating between 2018 and now.
Each of these conjunctions activated the house where they happened, and set up major themes during each two year period in all of us. We now begin a new cycle of these important planetary energies. The house where these conjunctions happen shows us where new adventures, truths, and wider vistas open up for the two years after the conjunction.
Think back on the house affairs activated by the one at 15 Virgo and reflect on what has opened for you since the Autumn of 2015 and late 2017. Then see what has opened for you in 2018 and 2019. By seeing the larger themes of how Mars and Jupiter opened doors and windows wherever they’ve conjuncted, we can see where we grew “by leaps and bounds.”
In 2015-2017, we “refined our cultural excellence,” saw how the material world and spiritual world are related to each other, learned to show restraint in “aristocratic” ways, and quickened ourselves, embracing “a reality higher or finer” than what we knew before. We learned what we cared about through the objects we value, and refined our “personal manner.”
In 2018-2019 we completed an old magnetism, desire, or attraction. Voids created new promise, but we also learned the futility of holding on to whatever we were struggling with. We expanded by letting go, purifying, and regenerating, whether by seeing how our life had transfigured in the previous 2 years, or seeing what we had to do well which would lead us to new transfigurations during the period just finished.
Now we have initiated a new Mars-Jupiter cycle at 23 Capricorn, promising us all new initiatives and duties in the house where it occurs. This one will bring us rewards and recognition for the duties we’ve “discharged nobly” in the past, as well as require us to generate the willingness to do what we have to do, with the promise of future rewards and recognition for the courage and nobility we have to show these next two years.
As I pointed out in part one, this particular conjunction sets “an expansive pulse into motion” on the same degree as the January conjunctions with Pluto. If you want to know more, the link is in part 1. Just keep in mind that this theme will dominate the next 2 years as well as the next 33, since Saturn conjuncted Pluto on that exact degree.
Also keep in mind that Saturn rules this conjunctions. Whereas the last Scorpio conjunction was ruled by Mars itself, this one is ruled by Saturn at the last degree of Capricorn. I’d say this indicates major decisions will be made by those in power over this next cycle, and that old powers will fade as new powers arise. Remember too that with Pluto in the mix, things will get VERY extreme!
In general, Mars conjunct Jupiter fuses the influence related to houses and planets ruled by Aries, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces. This fusion is focused through the house where we have 23 Capricorn.
This begins a time of major renewal and rebeginning for those born in the first 3 weeks of January. The coming cycle will bring together areas involving neighbors, communications, home, family, goals, ambitions, friendships, group work, motives, and harvests, found through an expanded self-awareness.
It is a point of critical emergence for those born in the first 3 weeks of October, with foundation and the past as the focus. This brings together areas involving health, work, partnerships, resources, and siblings, playing out through home and family experiences.
For those born in the first 3 weeks of July, this will be a time when partnerships and equality in relationships will be the focus. These will bring together areas involving creativity, children, health, work, travel, philosophical and spiritual understanding, and profession, playing out in the realm of relationships.
Those born in the first 3 weeks of April will have the emphasis completely in their public sector, with new professional opportunities arising out of the discipline and responsibility you’re shown before now. This will bring together areas involving self-awareness, self-projection, magnetism, joint or group resources, collective values, higher truths, teaching, travel, and harvests, all playing out in the public eye.
In a slightly more focused way, those born in the second and third weeks of March, May, September, and November will find many harmonious, productive, and stabilizing activities over the next two years in the area this conjunction falls in the chart. There will be major adjustments and expansions through sacrifices for those born in mid-June and mid-August, and some unique gifts and circumstances for those born early November and late March.
Of course, if you’re not born during the times of the months I just mentioned, you also are highly affected, but in different ways than what I’ve just outlined. Entire generations with outer planets in certain parts of certain signs are also profoundly affected, but to go into all possibilities would be cumbersome here.
For a brief example of generations affected by this, people born 1960-61, 1989-1996, and 2008 will all have their lives change in major ways, as these all have mid-to-late Capricorn prominent in their charts. Others who will be impacted are those born 1978-1983, who have their Pluto squared by this conjunction. People born in between late 1950 and late 1956 have their Neptune squared by this conjunction, and those born between late 1971 and mid-1975 have their Uranus squared by this conjunction. Those born in early 1949, July through November 1949, early 1961, August through October 1961, January-February 1973, December 1984-January 1985, December 1996-January 1997, March-July 2008, and November-December 2008 are all having a Jupiter return, powered by Mars!
So check out the house it falls in and the aspects it makes to all your planets, since even those without 23 Capricorn active can be profoundly affected. For example, in my chart the conjunction falls binovile my Sun, square my Mars, sextile my Jupiter, trine my Saturn, pentelftile my Uranus, square my Neptune, and triseptile my Pluto. These indicate which parts of my life will be affected, and how.
It’s safe to say that everyone on Earth will be affected in important ways via the house in which it falls and the houses Mars and Jupiter rule in your charts. So take a look back at how you’ve been transfigured by doing something well which is now consummated in your life, while looking forward to the rewards for your courage in discharging your duty with nobility under abnormal circumstances.

I appreciate your work deeply Robert. I have a question and I would be grateful for any information if a personal reading would also be required and you offer them I am open to that.
I am intrigued by a point on my natal that is the vertex point as it’s at Capricorn 23 degrees. It is said to be a point that is a destiny gate. My life is in a cross road, like many at the moment. I feel like something has been brewing within my spirit. If you can provide any guidance or even direct me to a book I would appreciate is greatly 🙏🏻
