Astrology in Late May and Early June 2020 – Crosscurrents and Riptides Ahead!

We have serious Mutable squares ahead, flinging many things outward in strange ways!

I’m posting this early so you can begin to get ready for this strange centrifugal collision of ideas and feelings. Many of you already know about the coming Venus retrograde inferior conjunction with the Sun and both square Mars coming. This post is a head’s up that it’s happening now through all of next week!

The Sun began its square with Mars on May 20, and for the next THREE weeks it will be very powerful wherever it falls in our chart. The square will get stronger and stronger until it is exact on Friday, June 6, from 17 Gemini to 17 Pisces. Of course, any aspect is extremely strong while it is within 1.5 degrees, so the Sun square to Mars will continue to be very powerful until the Solstice on June 22.

We get our first point of challenge related to the mutable squares when the Moon is in Virgo on May 29/30. Early in the day the Moon creates a Yod with a sextile to Mercury and both quincunx Saturn! Saturn at 2 Aquarius is the focus of the “expansion through sacrifice” energies of the Yod. The Moon is on a degree of “a liberating ordeal,” Mercury is on a degree of elevation of view and widening of perspective, and Saturn is still on the degree of the “cosmic visitation galvanizing us to action” to “escape from adverse circumstances.”

This “Finger of God” is the entry to the Moon opposing Mars square Venus, creating a very powerful T-square with the void in Sagittarius. By how we handle May 29/30, we get a sense of how to navigate June 1-7.

The afternoon and evening of Monday, June 1, we begin a recalibration and adjustment with Moon in Libra quincunx Neptune and square Pluto and Jupiter with the Venus square Mars exactly partile. Venus squares Mars on June 2 from 15 Gemini to 15 Pisces, affecting all who have a planet in the second decan of the mutable signs. This is immediately followed by the inferior conjunction of the Sun and Venus on June 3 at 14 Gemini, with the Sun beginning to square Neptune.

The next intense hot zone happens at the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on Friday, June 5. That World Teacher Full Moon happens just before the Moon squares Mars and Neptune, and a day before the Sun squares Mars from 17 Gemini to 17 Pisces! So while we’re dealing with all the squares before the Eclipse, this Eclipse ushers in several months of serious letting go while learning to serve, with humility and practicality.

We’re all swapping notes, learning to see the signs in the present showing us the future, unlocking our power, and learning to allow “our will to wholeness” to “break up old complexes.” This is a powerful time of social rebirth and renewal, with the physical being transmuted into mind power by those who are open to higher things.

Remember there’s a lot in flux right now, and often things are not as they seem. Some people are confused, and some situations are confused; there is an atmosphere which indicates energies of Gemini are in conflict with energies in Pisces. The T-square in Virgo can help us reorient and reintegrate to better deal with the conflicted energies in the atmosphere. Have a sense of humor, and think in the future.

Like so many others, I am watching that play out in the news and social media footage that is coming out of America in the wake of George Floyd's killing.
