Today we take a look at how we deal with many Yods, or "Fingers of God," throughout our lifetimes.
In Astrology Class - The Yod, or Finger of God - What is it, and how does it work? we examined the basics of this powerful configuration. If you haven't read that, you may want to check out the material there, since it sets the foundation for understanding what we're going to explore today.
To note, today's subject is somewhat technical, and may only appeal to those with some knowledge of how astrology works. A Yod is created by two planets in sextile, with a third at the inverse midpoint creating two quincunxes to the planets in sextile. As you can surmise, this creates potential Yod configurations any time two planets sextile each other, whether by progression or transit to natal or transit to transit aspects.
When two planets sextile, it usually yields a form of productivity involving the houses they occupy. By examining the inverse midpoint, we may surmise that zone or point becomes activated many times, including each day by the transiting Ascendant and Midheaven. It still remains an active zone of "expansion through sacrifice" where the two planets in sextile can find themselves squeezed in ways that augment spiritual effectiveness, focused by whatever is stimulating the inverse midpoint.
We don't have to have a natal planet in a zone to experience the multiple "expansion through sacrifice" energies of the Yod. These configurations are also set into motion whenever any planet (by progression or transit) move through these inverse midpoint zones.
When Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto Are Involved, Global Transformation Occurs!
When Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto are involved in any of the three legs of a Yod, there are transpersonal forces beyond our individual control at play. If these are involved in a Yod, it requires an enormous willingness to embrace our highest spiritual ideal rather than yield to usual points of view. The planet at the inverse midpoint is the one getting squeezed into a more authentic spiritual focus.
As an aside, this implies an even heavier karmic life for those with two of the outer invisible planets conjunct making a sextile to the third. The times when this happened are late 1964-mid 1969, when Uranus conjuncted Pluto sextile Neptune putting the focus in the middle and late degrees of Aries, and Spring 1991-Spring 1996, when Uranus conjuncted Neptune sextile Pluto, putting the focus in the middle and late degrees of Gemini.
Where the sextile involving outer planets falls in our maps we are offered productive outlets. Depending on the planets involved, it can include everything from organized genius to pragmatic intuitive synthesis to divine economy of energy sprouting seeds of transformation.
Even when the sextile is not exact, we see the effects at work in an "off-set" way. That shows as the planet quincunxing one and then the other across weeks, setting the Yod into a long term motion. The sacrifices don't work all at once, but in an interlocking way across time.
Generational Yods
Thus during the decades when Neptune sextiled Pluto (1943-1993), many Yods were formed. When Neptune in Libra sextiled Pluto in Leo during the 40s through the mid-50s, the inverse midpoint moved through the sign of Pisces. When Neptune in Scorpio sextiled Pluto in Virgo (1956-1970), the inverse midpoint moved through Aries. When Neptune in Sagittarius sextiled Pluto in Libra (1971-1984), the inverse midpoint moved through Taurus. When Neptune in Capricorn sextiled Pluto in Scorpio (1984-1994), the inverse midpoint moved through Gemini. After that they were no longer in sextile, as they were triggering the Grand Irrationality through making a septile which lasted for about 20 years!
These 4 groups comprise most people alive on Earth today. Each of these generational groups experience a Yod, or Finger of God, every year in the Spring, as the inner planets move through Pisces, Aries, Taurus, and Gemini.
As each generation experiences a transit in double quincunx to their Neptune and Pluto, multiple "expansion through sacrifice" energies are set into motion. These sacrifices leading to spiritual expansion will be seen in the house where the inverse midpoint planet occupies, as well as the houses that planet rules in the chart.
That means when Uranus, the awakener, transited Pisces between 2003 and 2011, it created Yods for the Libra/Leo group. When it transited Aries between 2010 and 2019, it created Yods for the Scorpio/Virgo group. It is in Taurus between 2018 and 2026 and making Yods for the Sagittarius/Libra group, and when it’s in Gemini between 2025 and 2033 it will make Yods for the Capricorn/Scorpio group.
Transiting Neptune will be making Yods to all those generations for many decades to come. During the time it transits Pisces between 2012 and 2025 it has been and will make Yods to the Libra/Leo group. When it transits Aries between 2026 and 2039 it will make Yods to the Scorpio/Virgo group. As transiting Neptune shows collective consciousness, it will be the focus for the multiple “expansion through sacrifice” energies of these generations.
Current and Future Yods
The stellium in late Capricorn is the focus of Yods for all with planets in late Gemini sextile planets in late Leo. When Jupiter and Saturn transit early Aquarius in January and February, they will be the focus of a Yod for planets in sextile between early Cancer and early Virgo. When Jupiter moves through late Aquarius between March and May it impacts the middle and late degrees of those signs. When it occupies the first 3 degrees of Pisces from May through July, it will be the focus for any sextiles between early Leo and early Libra, setting up the 4 years of Yods as it transits Pisces, Aries, Taurus, and Gemini in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
That means those years will be extraordinarily important for all generations born between 1943-1993. Please take a new look at where your Neptune and Pluto are, since this will assist you in preparing for this series of life-altering expansions.
Remember too that there are numerous transit to transit sextiles and quincunxes made each month by the Moon, and by Mercury, Venus, the Sun and Mars throughout the year. Each of these creates potential Yods, depending on where they occur. 2021 won’t have as many transit to transit planetary Yods as other years, because of the clustering of planets between late Capricorn and mid-Taurus with Mars making its sextiles to Neptune in February and to Uranus in May with no planet at the inverse midpoint. After that Mars will not sextile an outer planet until December 2021 with no Yods formed by other transits.
That means other than Uranus and Neptune being the current nozzles for Yods made to the generations listed above, all Yods are being formed by inner planet transits to your sextiles in various signs throughout the year. By taking a look at times when Yods are formed to your sextiles, you’ll understand when something has to be sacrificed to get a clearer spiritual focus.
Food for thought as we approach the rendezvous with a greater destiny across 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 when Jupiter expands all which has been awakened and dreamed by Uranus and Neptune over the past 17 years!
