At 3:36 pm PDT, 11:36 pm BST on May 13, Jupiter begins its transit of Pisces. This will profoundly affect all of us wherever we have Sagittarius or Pisces planets, as well as the houses with those signs on the cusp. As Jupiter is in its home sign we can expect to open us all to its vast feeling capacity, where the ghosts and mythos of humanity reside and all of us feel, even when we don’t have words to describe it.
This marks both an opening and a closing of many things related to our compassion, or “fellow-feeling,” as well as our ability to see all things within the vast and deep Mystery of human-ness, with all its flaws and powers of the animal up to the angelic world and beyond. It is an opening, since Pisces is the fourth sign from Jupiter’s rulership of Sagittarius. Therefore Jupiter’s fiery nature renewed in 2018-2019 now can be grounded in its first emergence into forms shown by Pisces.
This year is a split in Jupiter’s influence, since it has occupied Aquarius up to now, and after retrograding back into Aquarius on July 28, it will continue to occupy Aquarius until it again re-enters Pisces on December 28/29. It will then race through Pisces, its sign of perihelion, or fastest point in its orbit, and enter Aries on May 10, 2022. As you can see, Jupiter is at maximum speed in Pisces, so we can expect a time of rapid goodbyes, rapid closures, rapid harvests, and rapid karmic shifts during those 132 days.
However, on October 28, 2022, Jupiter will retrograde back into Pisces, go stationary direct at 29 Pisces in late November, and re-enter Aries by December 20. So we get an initial 11 week experience between May and July 2021, a whitewater Jupiterian ride the first four months of 2022, and a last look back over four weeks at the end of the year.
Today is merely the prelude to a longer article explaining what’s coming in the Jupiter in Pisces era now upon us, since this is the initial entry promising us glimpses of the “indestructible” elements in our lives as part of the ongoing transfiguration process indicated by the three Jupiter transits this year of the Transfiguration Zone of 29-30 Aquarius. This year is primarily one of Aquarian focus, and this initial entry gives us glimpses of promises kept and new adventures to embrace.
So get ready to feel a lot! I have this position natally, and can assure you that you will all be opening to a greater feeling experience than when Jupiter is in any of the other signs. While Jupiter in Pisces is occasionally very strange, it’s only due to the “tuning into” the vast collective unconscious with all its murky substance and conflicted feelings. Learn to flow, learn to forgive, learn that not all feelings should be acted on, and learn that to defer is not to abandon. Sometimes the finesse wins the game, and waiting until everything plays out the best strategy before tipping one’s hand.
Again, Jupiter in Pisces is good for ending what needs ending, and grounding a new inspiration in a vaster connectedness with “All-That-Is.” If you feel weird, see it as an opportunity to refine your sensory receiving mechanism, since there is much which should not be taken personally when Jupiter is in Pisces. As the inner planets and Mars are transiting Gemini, Cancer, and Leo during this time, they all make waxing aspects to Jupiter, indicating the expansion of the initial Jupiter pulses set into motion earlier this year.
So let’s all welcome Jupiter’s entry into its home sign of Pisces! If you have a planet in early Pisces, or were born in late February, Jupiter is sitting exactly on your planet. And for the rest of us with a planet in Pisces, even at the end of the sign, we’ll begin to vibrate to the new Jupiter energy visiting that planet. Because of the sign shift, the planets now disposed by Jupiter in the air sign of Aquarius will shift their energies and begin to exhibit more of the water qualities of Pisces.
So face the future, since this will help us learn a greater view of abundant possibilities, remembering that every ending is followed by a new beginning, and we have the power to choose, as part of the social-cultural dance Jupiter and Saturn do with each other in our charts. We enter a time of deep feelings, and an expanded capacity to feel and demonstrate compassion.
It is as though Jupiter’s conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius launching the Grand Mutation has now begun to expand into the second phase of Pisces, but will have to retrograde back later this year to finish up some Aquarian business before it races through the closures and openings of Pisces in 2022. Saturn continues to “make real” all which Jupiter promised in its transit of the first half of Aquarius during 2021, and will organize and crystallize what Jupiter has promised in the second half of Aquarius in 2022 while Jupiter blazes forward through Pisces and Aries, quickening the Aquarian promise.
