On June 20 Jupiter goes stationary retrograde at 3 Pisces and will remain retrograde until October 17/18 when it will go direct at 23 Aquarius. What does this mean?
First, it means that the Jupiter adventure we’ve been doing as it raced through Aquarius since last December has now hit a high water mark at the beginning of Pisces, and we will begin to review all the Jupiter related things that have come up since late March, when Jupiter went into its shadow zone for the first time. Since then we’ve gotten a look at the span between 23 Aquarius and 3 Pisces, and now get another look at that same span of experience, but from a retrograde angle instead of a direct angle.
This span involves the emotional and social level, as well as the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of the Scene of Management (Aquarius) and the actional, material, and physical levels of Pisces. That means we get a review of these parts of Aquarius and Pisces, giving us a “future look” at lessons to be learned and duties to be accepted when Saturn transits this span of experience three different times. The first pass is between April and August 2022, the second pass is December 2022 through early April 2023, and the third pass is September through December 2023.
So we now review the potentials, protections, blessings, opportunities, and newer, more expansive ways of seeing and expressing ourselves and our relationship to group work, a greater contribution to a greater good, and the management of energies required to fulfill our destiny AND glimpse, on a deep feeling level, our “indestructibility” within the larger collective field. We now review the future we’ve glimpsed so we may come to understand our higher potentials in the late Aquarius and early Pisces part of our chart.
Jupiter in Libra (9/16-10/17) taught us ways of being balanced as we move through our world, and new perspectives in our life interests. Jupiter in Scorpio (10/17-11/18) taught us about desire, loss, and magnetism, and our need to eliminate all that would block us from living our higher values. Jupiter in Sag (11/18-12/19) took us beyond forms, beyond binding forces, and gave us a greater adventure wherever it falls in our chart. Jupiter in Capricorn (12/19-12/20) brought many things together, gave us new Jupiter/Saturn and Jupiter/Pluto cycles, and taught us the value of using power in disciplined ways.
Jupiter in Aquarius (12/20-5/21, 7/21-12/21) has been teaching us ways of opening to a greater vision, a greater good, and a greater ideal. Jupiter in Pisces will open us to a greater compassion, a greater “collective feeling experience,” and for those who are in training for world service, a greater empathy and ability to know, both near and at a distance, what is going on anywhere the consciousness is focused on. This should bring a sense of confidence and well-being for those who have embraced the inner relationship adventure Jupiter in Aquarius and Pisces has offered us. We now can take a new look at what has opened for us, with the theme of 3 Pisces paramount for what we are to learn from now through December 2020.
The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter’s Stationary Retrograde Degree
The symbol for the 3rd degree of Pisces is “A Petrified Forest.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “"Mastery of form over substance,” “Archetypal immortality,” “Conscious handling of existence,”, and “Participation in race impulses.”
In his Astrological Mandala, he offers that this degree is one of "the power to preserve records of their achievements which is inherent in fully matured cultures.” Here we find “preserved cultural records,” or perhaps find ways of preserving our cultural values in some “recorded” form. We can now see what greater cultural values we’re a part of, and what has endured across time that is part of our core standards.
He states this symbol "brings the promise of social immortality – i.e. the preservation of the enduring (because archetypally meaningful) factors in whatever (we attempt) within our culture. A symbol of Immortality.” We are told it falls in the span of "Innocence,” and it's the third degree of the actional level of the scene of Federation in the Act of Capitalization.
According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, this degree is "the absolute certainty which any individual may develop in… (their) conscious knowledge, and of the power in human character which becomes the hallmark of (our) intellectual orientation.” This degree warns us against relying on “stabilities to which no immediate or personal contribution is made,” which will become obstacles to our progress.
He states this is about "dramatization of an eternal stout-heartedness, and of its very practical dividends in spiritual continuance. “ He offers us the keyword of SURVIVAL. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this is a degree of "effective continuity and breadth of resource in all human effort."
So we enter a 4 month period of learning to see opportunity, truth, and group work using spiritual energies to experience the timeless indestructible and meaningful patterns in our life within a social context, and because it is in Pisces, we are at a threshold of leaving behind old roles, old limitations, old duties, and old loyalties, letting old ways of life flow down the time stream. Here we can see a larger continuity in our life and purpose, and heal into our higher Self as we become more sensitive to the enduring ideals of humanity.
This helps us attune to a greater truth and future in any group work we’re doing, so keep integrating your vision, your commitment, and your sense of spiritual-social connections to “pre-form” the pathways to a greater truth, vision, and timeless labor later this year. Keep moving through the world living the highest truths you can, allowing your Soul to express through your Higher Self using your mind, feelings, and bodies as a perfectly attuned vehicle to demonstrate your spiritual truths. Experience your spiritual heritage by feeling what has been preserved, or what needs preserving.
Summing Up
As Jupiter now moves back preparing to take us “back to the future” in Aquarius, we now get a new look at the area in our charts between 23 Aquarius and 3 Pisces. As this span at the cusp of these signs is the Precessional Point of the Great Age as we prepare to leave the Age of Pisces and enter the Age of Aquarius, we continue to accelerate our “graduation into a new realm of Being” which began in May 2020 and now accelerates like an express train! Because Jupiter teaches us what is possible and what it not, it’s time to go deeper and higher, taking a new look at the greater contribution we might make to our world. At the end of this process we’ll have begun disciplines of Self-realization enabling us to “pick up and deliver spiritual power” in 2022.
Just remember to enjoy the ride, and try not to get too freaked out while you’re making the passage through the ocean of collective consciousness, since from time to time we all must go into the depths of collective experience to know we are one with “All That Is.” If there’s something which needs cleaning up or cleaning out, do your duty with compassion, knowing this too will pass all too quickly into new adventures and new visions.
Jupiter retrograde in Pisces and Aquarius will be good for glimpsing the promise of a new connection to the collective field as we take a new look at the transfiguration process we’ve been going through these past 13 months. Keep integrating your body, feelings, and mind into the larger benevolent consciousness that you ARE behind the masque of personality. This offers us a period of “reflections and revisions in our vision of group work” where we’re learning to know the nuances of the collective field around us. Trust your ability to feel your unique part in the ocean of existence, glimpsing the lasting elements of your life story which you’ll take with you into a new world in 2022.
During the coming months, Jupiter will be opposed by all the inner planets and Mars, creating a “tension of opposites” which will be very beneficial in bringing forth our heart strengths and natural creativity. During Jupiter’s retrograde, we will again see our spiritual companions in a new light, preparing for our future flow of Jupiter in its natural sign of Pisces while taking a look back at our long wave transfiguration process, eventually coming to a new period of training in the management of spiritual power.
Use this time of review, reflection, and reconsideration well. There is a lot of work to be done as we open to the New Era and its changing requirements in action, feeling, and thought. There will be a lot of chaos and turmoil during this Jupiter retrograde due to the constant Saturn square Uranus and the oppositions coming in a few weeks, but these give us the chance to apply our spiritual truths and practices in “real time” conditions. This is an excellent time to test your spiritual strength and resolve with patience, organization, maturity, and determination.
Because Jupiter is retrograde, expect reviews and returns of a Jupiterian nature wherever you have late Aquarius and early Pisces. So whether you’re looking back at how you came to the group work and compassion you have, or how your journey brought you to this spiritual understanding, you are now glimpsing a future which will manifest in a huge way in late 2021, 2022, and 2023 when Saturn transits this Jupiter retrograde span.
You entered the Mystery in 2018, and allowed your life to be transfigured by previous inspired truths and teachings. 2019 offered wide open spaces of spiritual expansion as prelude to major shifts begun at the Grand Mutation of 2020 at 1 Aquarius, ushering in the pre-initiatives of a new great Age. Review how you got here, and practice skills which will make you a Master of your future Destiny. You’re going deeper – now it’s time to see how widely your life has expanded since January!

Robert,
Reading this post is a revisit to what has passed in the last four years, as well as a harbinger of what is coming to a theater nearest to you in just four months. I love the respite, the time to review and integrate. I love the promise of going still deeper.
Namaste, my friend. A bow of deep gratitude. As I read and underlined, nearly the whole darn piece, the thought arose. Here is a companion soul who walks the same path I tread, one who understands so intimately he seems to be reading my mind and writing what I can't articulate as well.
Blessings, jo
