Today’s the birthday of the person who gave us the words of the Tibetan Master D.K., author of some of the most profound metaphysical works ever published.
Alice Ann Bailey (June 16, 1880 – December 15, 1949), or “AAB” as she is commonly termed, wrote dozens of books on theosophical and esoteric Buddhism subjects. From Wikipedia,
Bailey's works, written between 1919 and 1949, describe a wide-ranging system of esoteric thought covering such topics as how spirituality relates to the Solar System, meditation, healing, spiritual psychology, the destiny of nations, and prescriptions for society in general. She described the majority of her work as having been telepathically dictated to her by a Master of Wisdom, initially referred to only as "the Tibetan" or by the initials "D.K.", later identified as Djwal Khul. Her writings bore some similarity to those of Madame Blavatsky and are among the teachings often referred to as the "Ageless Wisdom". Though Bailey's writings differ in some respects to the Theosophy of Madame Blavatsky, they have much in common with it. She wrote on religious themes, including Christianity, though her writings are fundamentally different from many aspects of Christianity or other orthodox religions. Her vision of a unified society included a global "spirit of religion" different from traditional religious forms and including the concept of the Age of Aquarius.
As scribe for the Tibetan Master, she wrote thousands of pages on the Seven Rays, the Seven Planes of Consciousness, the Masters of the Wisdom, Esoteric Astrology and Esoteric Healing, Cosmic Fire, the psychological makeup of humanity, discipleship and service, the unity of all groups and nations, and gave us The Great Invocation. Taken together, the breadth and depth of her writings are astounding.
Over the years, there have been many criticisms aimed at her work, and she has been accused of a number of vile things, all of which are untrue. It seems that some can read the words of a Master and still find the evil in their own hearts projected onto the pages they read. So if you encounter some of these authors with narrow minds expressing pinched hearts, please take all you read or hear with the proverbial grain of salt. I have read most of the common objections to the work, and the objections are without any merit whatsoever.
In any case, AAB built on Blavatsky’s work and took it to a place of exponentially higher awareness. The first work, Initiation Human and Solar, is the basic manual for those who want to understand how the process of true spiritual initiation works for all, regardless of faith, regardless of heritage, and regardless of opinions to the contrary. It is one of the primers I've used to teach aspirants of higher awareness the basic structure of "the Ladder of Lights" and the signposts on the Path of Initiation.
There is a timeless Path that awaits all who seek higher knowledge, higher love, and higher awareness. That single work opens the doors to infinite growth into an ever-more encompassing view of the Oneness of all Life, and offers the foundation for all to achieve states of awareness that will not end with the death of the body. Those who want to know more should contact me personally. These things have been a part of my work for almost 50 years, and I can state from direct experience that YOU can in fact achieve an unending spiritual awareness in this lifetime which is at least 1000 times more aware than you were as a child.
So here’s a huge thanks, gratitude, and happy and merry everything to you, Alice Bailey, for doing your selfless work that has opened the doors to higher awareness for countless millions these past 100 years. RIP, beautiful Gemini Spirit!
