This coming Full Moon is the twenty-fifth since the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius which launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This one helps us expand into a larger life, a greater appreciation, and the strength which abundance and play bring us! Even our disappointments will help us understand and stabilize a new dynamic expression.
I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbols. For now, let’s take a closer look at this distributive, freeing, activating and dynamic Lunation which shows us the way to renewal through joining with others in open displays of fellowship and faith. We can know what we possess and what we don’t, illuminating and being illuminated in ways which strengthen our hearts and help us see there are many approaches to any given thing.
Due to the position of the Nodes and recent eclipses, through our releases and eliminations we’ll focus the heart strength we’ve been building since early 2021 and give it a form authentic to who we are at our core. As the growth is in Taurus, take an abundant view of what to let go of and how much heart strength you’re cultivating by releasing old toxic memories, or memories of toxic relationships in the past.
As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the power of that Sag Lunation to quicken, intensify, and see the honest truth about whatever isn’t clear to us. We’re in the midst of letting go of a lot of old memories and feelings and embracing new ways to be with others. We’re all learning the delight of living our truths in abundant ways, and the next two weeks can bring us tremendous strength, resilience, and abundance if we open to a better dream of the future.
The Sun in Fire and the Moon in Air shows a time of the Distributive Fire (spreading inspiration) of Sagittarius expressing its visions and truth through the Distributive Air (spreading ideas) of Gemini. Because Sagittarius and Gemini are so strong with 4 oppositions in the second half of those signs, this Full Moon will bring a laser focus to our houses where those oppositions are happening. This continues a run of Full Moon themes of getting clear on the actional and material levels of our existence.
At this time, 1 planet is in the first third of their signs, 4 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a huge emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual field, with very strong social/emotional focus, and a minimal amount of activity in the actional-material field. This will be an extraordinarily spiritualizing next two weeks! Why Are Full Moons So Important?
At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.
That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.
Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We are now in a time of the year when the inner planets have made their last oppositions to the outer planets. The 4 oppositions in this chart involve the Moon conjunct Mars both opposed the Sun and Venus, even if the latter is wide. Those oppositions are this chart’s “Tension of Opposites,” creating an “awareness generator” between 15-30 Gemini and Sagittarius.
Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?
The Sun is in Sagittarius, making Jupiter its worldly ruler and Neptune its spiritual ruler. The Moon is in Gemini, making Mercury in Capricorn its worldly ruler. Jupiter in Pisces is ruled by itself because it’s in its home sign. Mercury in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn in its home sign of Aquarius. So Jupiter and Saturn are the heavyweights behind the scenes on the world stage.
At this time, we have three final dispositors affecting all the other planets, those being Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. So in this Lunation, besides what we’ve already covered, Venus in Sag is ruled by Jupiter, Mars in Gemini is ruled by Mercury and Saturn, Uranus in Taurus is ruled by Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. As usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.
By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?
The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames
Venus is a strong force because it is in the axis of oppositions and rules Uranus, which is the spiritual ruler of Saturn. Even though Venus can get scattered in Sagittarius, it’s also refreshingly honest, open, and a good sport willing to try a lot. And because Venus is septile Saturn, it shows that wherever it affects our charts has put us at a “fork in the road of destiny” related to our Taurus, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Aquarius sectors.
So because we are in a season of endings and the promise of new beginnings, we can use Venus to see how to combine beauty and functionality to create that which is pleasing and useful even as we continue to let go of people and memories from the past which have no place in our future.
If you want to know more about how to shape your Venus power to attract better friends and relations in the future, please consider getting your copy of my new book The Magic of Venus: Friendships, Soul Mates, and Twin Flames. It is the most comprehensive book on Venus ever written, and explains why we attract who we do and how to create more satisfying relationships in the future. You will understand the foundations of long term healthy relationships and friendships, why Soul Mates come into our lives, and learn how to shape your attractive power to have happy relationships in the future. Even if you’re not looking for a partner, this book will explain why certain people with certain traits came into your life and what they taught you about yourself.
It has chapters on the qualities of each sign’s natural mate, the qualities of Venus in each sign, and when crucial choices and changes are made, affecting who we attract in the future. It was written for both astrologers and lay people, and as it has a thousand gems for better relationships, with self, others, and Source, please consider getting your copy by going to the link above! (And when you’re done, please leave a review on Amazon, since it helps the book and all other books on astrology as well!)
The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon
This Full Moon falls at 17 Sagittarius and 17 Gemini. It is said that the second third (decan) of any sign deals with the social and emotional levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the second decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aries and Libra.
Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.
The Solar Sabian symbol for the 17th degree of Sagittarius is “An Easter sunrise service.” In The Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 17 Sagittarius is one of “spiritual living in conformity to natural law,” “coming out of doubt and despair,” and “unwavering faith in a near higher power.”
In The Astrological Mandala, he says this degree is one of “the culturally stimulated longing for group participation in a process of rebirth.” He offers that since the beginning of human existence, “religions and cults of various types have used the most significant periods in the year’s cycle to dramatize the deepest longing of human nature, thus giving them direction, meaning, and through group action, a greater dynamic intensity.” He states “easter” is a way “of celebrating the coming of springs and the rebirth of life….”
He continues that in this symbol we “discover in nature’s cycles great movement that stimulate (our) spiritual quest” for light and warmth,” and gives us the keyword “rebirth.” Rudhyar says this degree falls in the Span of Detachment, Act of Group Integration, and Scene of Transference on the Actional-Physical level.
Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of our “achievement on the level of spiritual or eternal fellowship with others,” demonstrated by “the enduring values (we) are able to dramatize for (ourselves) in everyday religious terms.” He states “the lives of all are seen in their common contribution to the total worth of a human estate, rather than as set off against each other in a senseless struggle for ephemeral rewards.”
He continues that this symbol implies “individual fulfillment through the quickening of humanity as a whole,” and offers us the keyword REBIRTH. He states that when operating positively, the degree is "an unusual realization of immortal resources and an ability to employ them wisely.”
The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 17th degree of Gemini is “The head of health dissolved into the head of mentality.” In the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Progression from robust participation in outer things to a realization of deeper realities,” “inborn wisdom,” and “steady growth.”
In The Astrological Mandala he states this degree is “the transformation of physical vitality into the power to build concepts and intellectual formulations through which knowledge can be transferred.” He offers this is a stage of “quiet and steady metamorphosis of biological energy into mind power.”
He continues “what is pictured is the transformation of emotions into mind, of instincts into thoughts – a process of mental metamorphosis.” It is the counterpoint degree in the span of Restlessness on the actional level of the scene of Exteriorization in the Act of Differentiation."
Dr. Marc Jones, author of the Sabian Symbols, says this degree is about our “achievement on the level of spiritual or eternal fellowship” as a “focus of selfhood in conscious self-awareness.” We are told this is a degree of active imagination and appreciation for what we share with others. He states “well-rounded individuality (is)… the condition of all real progress.”
He offers us the keyword “DEVELOPMENT.” He states this degree, when acting in a positive manner, is “the effective orientation of selfhood in an over-all vision.”
These symbols imply that during the next two weeks that the Light will lead us to a public spiritual self-renewal, or at least lead us to situations where we can participate in forms of “group rebirth” expressed in mental transformations. We may see the light of “the future group promise” which allows us to express our transformed mind in direct actions. The Lunar degree, being the same as Mercury’s stationary direct degree in June 2021 points the way to a greater understanding of how our “mental metamorphosis” of that Summer and Autumn has affected what we’ll be exposed to these next two weeks.
The Sun is in Sagittarius, where we learn to dance with life and its infinite possibilities, in good humor with a sense of the ever-abundant future. The Sun shows the Light of group rebirth of a spiritual nature, but as it’s opposed Mars retrograde, see if what’s going on resembles the past, or if something from the past can be reworked to achieve a new sense of group awareness.
The Moon in Gemini expresses this energy in diverse ways and approaches, linking past and present to feed the future. As it’s conjunct Mars, take a look at any repressed ideas or hesitancy about what to do or how to do it, and reclaim your authorship by eliminating ancient memories of the misuse of force, whether by us or another. With the aspects, regardless of whether you’re pulled outward or inward, it’s all stabilizing and strengthening for our hearts.
We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles
As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.
That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published yesterday.
TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption
I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2022. We have now entered a long period of getting over our prejudices and preconceptions, and approaching others from an angle of “the fellowship of humanity.”
*********
At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)
In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,
The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on EarthFrom the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to EarthFrom the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serveFrom the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Full Moon.
