As usual, we’ve had so many great articles and so many amazing musical birthday tributes that a lot of material slipped downstream quickly. For your enjoyment today, 7 important articles, including one which hopefully will bring a smile and one which will hopefully bring you fond memories of loved ones long gone.
We begin with a bit of humor! Back in the 1930s, Betty Boop was all the rage. Her cartoons often had a soundtrack by Cab Calloway and his orchestra, and were very adult in their themes. I found the original 1932 short video, 6+ minutes and worth your time. She runs against “Mr. Nobody,” which has been a theme for pranksters ever since. “Nobody for president!” “Who’ll protect the voters’ right? Mr. Nobody!” I definitely think this country is in need of a lot of hidey ho. Have fun.
